[edit]A Wikipedia user page is for someone who is active in working for the project to give a little information about himself or herself in connection with his or her work for the encyclopaedia: it is not a place to post material unrelated to work for Wikipedia. Also no kind of promotional material is allowed by Wikipedia policy. JBW (talk) 09:52, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
- JBW There. it is about me now, and I see lots of user pages where they state which sporting teams they follow. The only difference is that I don't feel like tarting mine up with all the fancy boxes and colours. Marching on Leeds (talk) 11:10, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
A question about your recent editing
[edit]In the article Beeston, Leeds why do you want the section heading "Etymology" to cover material which isn't about etymology? The first time you moved it, I assumed it was amistake, moving it accidentally while you moved other material, but since you moved it again, it was evidently intentional. Also, it would help if you gave a brief explanation of what you were doing in an edit summary. That is particularly important when you are reverting someone else's editing.JBW (talk) 08:46, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah basically I first looked at your FIRST edit and saw the error, so I decided to correct it but it wasn't working, I guess because you already reverted it. I then got confused thinking your second edit was the same as your first (mixing the revisions left and right), reverted it, couldn't work out WTF, tried another time to revert your first, THAT time it worked, but the question marks were more a matter of "how does this work?". Now in hindsight all is very clear. I didn't wish to touch the entomology section of the article. Marching on Leeds (talk) 20:21, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for the explanation. I messed things up, so I can't blame you for getting confused. JBW (talk) 21:17, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm C.Fred. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, it's important to be mindful of the feelings of your fellow editors, who may be frustrated by certain types of interaction, such as your addition to Žan Karničnik. While you probably didn't intend any offense, please do remember that Wikipedia strives to be an inclusive atmosphere. In light of that, it would be greatly appreciated if you could moderate yourself so as not to offend. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 20:44, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
- All right C Fred. He is reverting something claiming it is "breaking" the info-box when it does nothing to it, but I'll bear in mind your point. Marching on Leeds (talk) 20:48, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
Liverpool-Man Utd rivalry
[edit]I don't know what you're complaining about. There was a discussion on the talk page about whether or not to include the Sheriff of London Shield, and it was decided by the community that we should not include it. Perhaps you should read the discussion and educate yourself before accusing other people of bias. Given your history of vandalism, any report would not look good for you. – PeeJay 10:56, 13 May 2022 (UTC)

[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. PerryPerryD Talk To Me 15:06, 13 May 2022 (UTC)

. Bbb23 (talk) 23:23, 17 May 2022 (UTC)- Bbb23 Ok thank you for being fair and for blocking both warring parties and not just the one. Although the gist of my edit was identical to the previous - with there being one difference which is that Liverpool have just these past days earned one more trophy and the standing was practically neck and neck (and still is, depending whose source you follow), my intention really was just to make the one edit and not revert it. I didn't think that the conditions were so strict that nobody was allowed to touch it after PP was lifted. I thought a return to the edit warring meant violating 3RR. All I can say is that when this block is lifted, I doubt I will edit on that article. End of the day, I am interested primarily in Leeds Utd-based articles and not Man U/Liverpool issues. Sorry for disruption. --Marching on Leeds (talk) 08:24, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
PeeJay. Thanks for your support over my block. Just to say, this matter has been open to interpretation and so I will back away from it. It really does not matter one friendly trophy and the need to put one over the other. Thanks. --Marching on Leeds (talk) 08:27, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
