I have been attempting to add an infobox to a page I am editing, and when I try to preview my changes all I see is the data I've entered that comprises the infobox - not the actual infobox itself. Do I need to add an infobox template in the article first? If so, how do I do that? Malemseged (talk) 23:02, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
- I assume for Tsehai Publishers? - go to Template:Infobox publisher and copy the all stuff in the white box - then pate that at the top of the article. Then enter the data (only add after the = signs, do not change the part before the = sign) Ronhjones (Talk) 23:17, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Please follow up at Wikipedia:Teahouse#How to add an infobox/infobox template. You can also post your code at User:Malemseged/sandbox if you don't want to save broken code in an article. "add an infobox" and "add an infobox template" generally means the same so I'm not sure what you are asking but I guess your code just has an error. If it's about Tsehai Publishers then you can use Template:Infobox publisher. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:20, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
- When I initially attempted to add the infobox, I had followed the exact same instructions Ronhjones just offered. However, I was still having the same issue. I've been trying to determine what kind of error my code might have as PrimeHunter mentioned, but to no avail. Alex Shih has responded to my Teahouse discussion and I will continue to update on progress from there. Thank you both! Malemseged (talk) 23:30, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
- One of the other benefits of saving a test edit to your sandbox is that then the rest of us can see what you've done with the code. —C.Fred (talk) 23:32, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
- I did not realize that's how sandbox works, so that is good to know, C.Fred. Thank you. I am fairly new to wiki editing, but all of your advice has really been helpful. The issue I had has been resolved on Wikipedia:Teahouse#How to add an infobox/infobox template. Thank you all for your help! Malemseged (talk) 23:51, 2 October 2017 (UTC)

Image without license
[edit]Unspecified source/license for File:TSEHAI Publishers.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:TSEHAI Publishers.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 00:02, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Tsehai Publishers. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:
|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]
Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:
|image=SomeImage.jpg
.
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption
. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 00:34, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Zackmann08: Thank you for your advice and for bringing this to my attention! This will certainly be helpful for future editing, and I will keep this in mind. Thanks, again. Malemseged (talk) 00:53, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
- It is all about learning. Keep up the good work. :-) --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 01:02, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Harriet Tubman Press logo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Harriet Tubman Press logo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 15:48, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
