Re your message: I think part of the problem is that they have been many different manufacturers of the M1911 throughout the years, not just Colt. You can bring up your request on the article talk page. A similar observation was discussed in 2008 without any resolution. There are many other editors interested in the M1911, so perhaps this time a consensus can be achieved to further point out Colt in the gun's history. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:47, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
