[edit]Hello, I'm 47A74. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Censorship have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. If you disagree with part of an article, you should discuss it in the talk page first. 47A74 (talk) 16:56, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
- What do you mean "they did not appear constructive"? Lothkans (talk) 16:59, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
- 47A74, you should also use the talk page, rather than edit warring. Lothkans made a bold removal, but they used an edit summary to explain their reasoning, which you failed to do when reinstating the content. Don't do that - explain why you think it should be reinstated. GirthSummit (blether) 17:02, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Censorship. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges.
You are already beyoynd WP:3RR. Per WP:AGF I give you exactly one more attempt. Victor Schmidt (talk) 17:16, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
- I don't know what you mean, we've already reached an agreement on the talk page. Why don't you go check it out and offer your input there? Lothkans (talk) 17:19, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Ah I see you came to an agreement while I wrote this please familarisize yourself with Wikipedia:Edit warring for the next time. Thanks. Victor Schmidt (talk)
Welcome

- I thought that, since you've received two warnings already for making constructive edits, someone ought to actually welcome you properly. Folk get twitchy when they see new accounts removing large chunks of text and reverting other editors - it is very often vandalism, and as you have seen folk don't always look as closely as they ought to. Hopefully that won't happen again, but do please read the bit about edit warring - if you get reverted, go to the talk page and WP:PING the other person to ask them why they reverted - nine times out of ten, they'll realise their mistake and apologise. Let me know if you have any questions, happy editing. GirthSummit (blether) 14:35, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
