[edit]Sorry, I don't know what you mean.--Jeff79 (talk) 09:04, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- Standard? It's not there for Allan Border or Jonny Wilkinson.--Jeff79 (talk) 09:08, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
I'm guessing it's not there because those letters aren't a part of their "full/birth name".--Jeff79 (talk) 09:17, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- Not really. It's not there for Ian Botham, Pierce Brosnan, Prince Charles or David Beckham either. It's just not part of a person's name so isn't represented as such.--Jeff79 (talk) 09:24, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
Mathieu Flamini
[edit]Why do you keep changing the Height format from metric first to being in the brackets? All the other Arsenal players and France national players in the Arsenal squad have metric first. Just curious. Hubschrauber729 (talk) 18:32, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
- But then why are all the other Arsenal players have metric first?Hubschrauber729 (talk) 17:45, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Third opinion @ William Gaillard
[edit]An editor requested a WP:3O as the first step in dispute resolution; however, it looks like you have also asked for informal mediation. The mediator is suggesting that we proceed with the Third opinion process as a first step. If you are willing to participate, please let me know. Thanks! --Kevin Murray (talk) 16:10, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! I look forward to working with you on this. I'll put some questions and comments at the article's talk page --Kevin Murray (talk) 17:16, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Bicycle (American English)
[edit]"The whole article is in American English, to anyone else it sounds plain wrong", you're absolutely right, but this wasn't my point when I removed this notice. My point is this kind of notice seems to be singular, do you have any examples of other articles featuring such notice? And if this notice is kept in the end, then it should be defined in a template, not directly in the article. 16@r (talk) 17:26, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- The other article I know of that has something like this is motorcycle, for the same reasons, to minimize edit warring and help editors comply with Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#National_varieties_of_English. For what it is worth, "Approximately two thirds of native speakers of English live in the United States." says David Crystal in English as a Global Language, published by Cambridge University Press in 1997. -AndrewDressel (talk) 20:33, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
