Re: NRL squads

[edit]

Hey, yeah for some reason the new temporary coding is playing up and I'm not sure actually sure why. It certainly isn't what I want either but I'll have a go to try and fix it up now given that other people are starting to notice it. Cheers. MDM (talk) 02:33, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, see Template:Gold Coast Titans squad for how each of the current team templates should be coded and presented. This also remains consistent with the other navbox templates. MDM (talk) 02:44, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rugby union navboxes

[edit]

By "the rugby league and football standard", do you mean the standard that I have now employed on the RU navboxes? – PeeJay 13:02, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm confused. Have I done something you object to, or is there something you would like me to do? – PeeJay 13:09, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see. Well, thanks. – PeeJay 13:22, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thank you. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 17:16, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 17:17, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Convert/and/lbs‎

[edit]

Hello Londo06,

You'd created a subtemplate for {{convert}}.

Template:Convert/and/lbs‎ (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

However, it goes against the Manual of Style which states "Symbols have no plural form, i.e. an s is never appended (‘kg’, ‘km’, ‘in’, ‘lb’, ‘bit’, not ‘kgs’, ‘kms’, ‘ins’, ‘lbs’, ‘bits’)." so I've put it up for deletion.

Speedy deletion of Liam Higgins

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Liam Higgins requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Taroaldo (talk) 18:11, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Richard Eyres. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 15:02, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Richard Eyres, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Phil Ford (rugby league). Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 15:04, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are adding material in biographical articles without inline citation. Use inline citation and you are inappropriately using the minor edit check box. When you create an article, that is not minor edit. Edits should be ticked as minor when they are really minor edits. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 15:09, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Jason Williams (rugby league player born 1966)

[edit]

I have nominated Jason Williams (rugby league player born 1966), an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jason Williams (rugby league player born 1966). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. – i123Pie biocontribs 15:39, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, you may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia, as you did in Jason Williams (rugby league player born 1966), makes it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. – i123Pie biocontribs 15:42, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
