Request

Hey Legolas, How are you? Since you are an admin and your contribution would be from a neutral POV, your assistance is requested from here to here. The discussion has been ongoing for weeks and now its between myself and two editors and its just leading to back in forth. In my opinion the issue i have with it being added has not been addressed, its simply been deflected and made into argumentative discussions and personal attacks and its getting extremely redundant to keep explaining why it shouldnt be added. Now i could be wrong and you could easily state it should be added, that would be your opinion which i respect. If you feel it should be added i would propose a simple "see also" section which was proposed in earlier discussion. Truthfully i dont think it even deserves that as it does not affect or relate to the song or kesha so its somewhat trivial. (CK)Lakeshadetalk2me 04:08, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Many people make parodies of songs, that doesnot mean that they are notable untill and unless the song themselves have a legacy, like "Thriller" or "Like a Virgin". I feel this is not notable on any accounts. PS, I'm not an admin :P --Legolas (talk2me) 04:22, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Oh wow, i should learn to pay more attention, i assumed you were an admin, i never actually checked. Have you ever applied? Anyway your opinion would be appreciated on the articles talk page. (CK)Lakeshadetalk2me 04:27, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Nopes, I never applied and don't wish to be also. Broomsticks are not my kinda thing :P --Legolas (talk2me) 04:30, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Hahah fair enough. Anyway it would be appreciated if you would state your view on the talk page once you have a moment to spare :) (CK)Lakeshadetalk2me 04:38, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Sweet Dreams GA

The nomination was a bit premature as there are such existing faults in teh article in respect to content and MOS which can lead to its quick fail. I was going to quick fail it myself, but then I thought of better asking you. Reply on my talk page. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:54, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

It does not matter (at least for me) if its failed or not, the review (almost) always help you with what is wrong, for example the American Life review. Anyway, Talk:Sweet Dreams/GA2 and [[GA3 always will exist. TbhotchTalk C. 05:03, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Do you want me to review it? --Legolas (talk2me) 05:07, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
With your credentials it is an honor. TbhotchTalk C. 05:10, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
LOL. That was very kind of you. Wait, let me finish with The Video Collection 93:99, thne I will start with it. In the meantime, I will just take it up from the queue. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:14, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
OK thank you, and good luck with the video album :D TbhotchTalk C. 05:18, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi can you please tell me what is wrong in these two references?

The first one is a gossip site and can't be used, second one looks ok, but better would be to replace it with the chart link from Billboard. Tbhotch can help you with that. Work should be Billboard and publisher should be Nielsen Business Media, Inc. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:26, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Madonna The Virgin Tour & Who's That Girl Tour

Hey! I noticed the information you added to those articles (very good job!), but l also noticed that the articles lack images, and look a little bit empty. So i started surfing through other articles of concert tours and noticed that some of them have non-free images on them, and since these are articles of old tours, I was wondering if it could be okay to use non-free images to illustrate those tours?? I'll expect your answer —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.153.212.74 (talk) 19:30, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

No its not ok. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:05, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Ok I'm not gonna upload any if that's what you mean, i was just suggesting that since those tours are over 20 years old I don't think you'll ever find free images. I was just suggesting that you could consider that option.--201.153.234.1 (talk) 21:15, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Hvae you thought about it??--189.245.48.31 (talk) 22:46, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Hey Legolas! I've found a new source from UK's Music Week that stated The Immaculate Collection sold 30 million and GHV2 sold 7 million, the article is titled "Warner finds solace in farewell CD" (27 October 2007). However, we can't read its full article and I don't know its ISSN, therefore I'm doubt to use it as reference in Wikipedia. Do you have any idea so we can use this magazine as reference??? We should replace the sales source for GHV2 in Madonna albums discography because it doesn't mention anything about sales. Bluesatellite (talk) 04:32, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

I will add it, I own access to Music Week archives. Hence I can pull out the issn, volume etx. All I need is the date. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:37, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Good! :) Bluesatellite (talk) 04:38, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Added it. Can you search similarly for Erotica, Bedtime Stories and STR? --Legolas (talk2me) 04:44, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
So far, I guess I can't. Nobody cares to update the sales of this Madonna less significant albums (Maybe only albums like "Like a Virgin" or "True Blue"). Bluesatellite (talk) 05:15, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Help Please

Hello, I would like to keep things peaceful and amicable this time, so please assist me. BlueSatellite needs to understand that he needs to provide the consensus before making that change. I don't have to get a consensus to remove it, he needs one to place it. Please understand, I don't want us all to get blocked again.--PeterGriffinTalk 04:57, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

WAit Peter, as I said, I am checking Guiness' sources for the claims. I have to cross-verify the 2010 version with 2007 version as well. Nobody will get blocked as long as all of you are civil. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:01, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Please Legolas, help me! We need admin here. I think there's no consensus if just ONE user disagree with it. And Peter, the reason I reverted your "200 million claim" on Mariah Carey because many other users including Kww and Jay disagree with it. Bluesatellite (talk) 05:11, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Im just asking again. So your basically telling me that "You disagreed simply because of other editors?" "So you didn't obviously vote on how you felt, because you trust the "The independent" You see thats my problem with you Blue, You don't advocate your opinion because you obviously agree with the source, just didn't because of "Other editors". Thats not fair. When I changed it, yoou immediately went to remove it, instead of "Discussing it". You honestly and sadly look to either ruin Mariah Carey pages, or start edit wars with me.--PeterGriffinTalk 12:50, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Merry Christmas (Mariah Carey album)

Hello Legolas. In this page a template was placed and I would like to correct whatever problem it is, but I don't understand what it implys is wrong with the sources, something about bare urls. Usually when I source something, I put [1]. Is that the best way to do it? Thanks--PeterGriffinTalk 12:47, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

You have to add all the other parameters like author, date, accessdate, work, publisher as per {{cite web}} or {{cite news}}. Got it? :) --Legolas (talk2me) 12:52, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Sort of. Lets say This source. How would I make it to coincide with that rule. :)--PeterGriffinTalk 13:07, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Well, this is a newspaper article, so I will use Cite news template with the reference tags and add teh parameters from the page. Like " <ref>{{cite news | url = http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/features/mariah-carey-you-ask-the-questions-497656.html | title = Mariah Carey: You Ask The Questions | date = 2005-07-05 | accessdate = 2007-07-23 | work = [[The Independent]] }}</ref>. If author is present in the article, add it in the author parameter.
The final reference would appear as "Mariah Carey: You Ask The Questions". The Independent. 2005-07-05. Retrieved 2007-07-23.. Ugh, that picture of Carey is ghastly. --Legolas (talk2me) 13:14, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Oh gotcha thanks :) I happen too think its an ok picture, especially in comparison to how old Madonna looks like on her tour :P Thanks for the help!--PeterGriffinTalk 13:46, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Atleast she doesnot look like a whale. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:32, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

For the cookies. It was kind of you. Also I hope you don't think I've hijacked your GA review of Sweet Dreams. There were some pretty significant issues that needed resolving regarding some of the statements. --Lil-unique1 (talk) 05:39, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Not at all. I was gonna come to them eventually. The article still looks prematurely nominated and failing in many other terms. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:32, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

I am sasha fierce

I have been told that the only thing the album lacks is a proper formatting of references. I have already started the work and i have fixed all dead links today itself. The copy edit has already been done. Can you help me to format the references? Please help me to make it pass GA. Jivesh boodhun (talk) 09:07, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Helloooo!

Ahaha! I have just been a little slack with Wikipedia. Came back on here to check things out today finding that two of the Ke$ha articles I worked on are now GA class! Amazing how much things can happen, whilst I haven't been around for a while. Anyway, I hope I can get back into it again. Editing actually really helped improve my writing skills. I have just been a little busy.. • вяαdcяochat 06:47, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

WOW. Congratulations. I bet you are very very excited! Also, I am amazed you reviewed "Tik Tok (song)". I had no idea! Ahaha. I started working on that article before the song was even on the charts like in September or October last year, so I am extremely happy that my baby made it! That was one of the very first articles I actually put so much effort into from the beggining in order to build it up. Also, "Blah Blah Blah (song)" has gone GA. And yes, I do believe you have made a mark here. The quality that you made the Gaga articles really taught me and possibly other editors how to properly manage contribute to music articles in the best way! :) • вяαdcяochat 11:22, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Re.

Yeah, I am watching it since he reverted an edit w/o an apparent reason. TbhotchTalk C. 05:39, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I already resolved your last comment of the GAR of Sweet Dreams. TbhotchTalk C. 07:37, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Bad Romance

Alright, ive noticed you've put in a review for Bad Romance because you want to nomination it as a future FL. Truthfully its good but needs a fair amount of work. I will put the errors in a drop box below. (CK)Lakeshadetalk2me 23:52, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Bad Romance Issues
-
  • ref [4] → I could be wrong but it should be cite web, not cite news.

The only other issue i see is the use of acharts. You must remove and replace all acharts in chart and chart performance. WP:CHARTSCHART states "Good and Featured class articles should not rely on unlicensed archives as convenience links, and should use official sites and licensed archives where possible.". Its clearly possible to replace these as its Lady Gaga, they are available and should be used. (CK)Lakeshadetalk2me 23:52, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your concern. However, the reference modifications that you have posted is merely exaggerating. That is what I learnt from the FAC nomination of Madonna. You don;t need to link to well known publishers like The New York Times Company, or MTV Networks, or Viacom. And news articles published in a website takes cite news template, not cite web. Only concern I have to address is the use of acharts, which I was getting around eventually. — Legolas (talk2me) 03:32, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

TZP is being developed

Hi there, If you have the time, Taare Zameen Par is being developed for a future FAC. Take a look if you can. -Classicfilms (talk) 18:05, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Terrific!! Though I should note that the article hasn't gone into FAC yet. It's at the GAC stage and I and another editor, User:Ophois, have been working on it. You could drop a note on Ophois' talk page and perhaps just start a new section on the TZP talk page. The article is in need of more editors and any and all suggestions, edits would be greatly appreciated. I'm a bit swamped at the moment in RL but will check in a little later in the week to help out. And please spread the word - TZP is long overdue for an FAC and the more editors on it, the better. -Classicfilms (talk) 15:36, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Lady Gaga - Public Image - Internet

Hey have you seen the information to back up my statement earlier, about her and the Internet. If you haven't I totally understand, becuase I have quite a busy schedule as well. If you have do I have your permission to add the paragraph, just thought I should ask you first. Hope you can respond ASAP. Thanks! --Blackjacks101 (talk) 17:41, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Gaga discography

Thanks Legolas. I think I've transformed the article into what I feel should be the new standard for FL-class discographies, and I do hope to nominate it in a week or so if the edit warring calms down (as the edit history is showing, some people don't react too calmly to major change). I actually modeled a lot of parts off of your fantastic work on the Madonna discographies, which in my opinion represent some of the best discography articles on wiki. –Chase (talk) 03:51, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, well for the new Gaga songs. IDK if these are going to be on the new album or not, but they've come out fairly recently so I shall assume so for now. The most recent leaks I've seen have been "Changing Skies", "Reloaded" with Darkchild (sounds kinda older though, might have been a demo for the second album), "Ribbons", "Greatest", and "Then You Love Me". It's been kind of slow lately with new Gaga leaks which is a bit disappointing, I must say :( I remember earlier this year, they were leaking in huge numbers at a time! –Chase (talk) 03:59, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm predicting first-day singles for the next album to be somewhere in the 500-700K range, but that might be overshooting a little. Not as much as Billboard is predicting for Taylor Swift's new album though! They are seriously predicting sales in excess of a million the first week, which is highly unlikely. The last person to cross a million was Lil Wayne more than two years ago, and Eminem, arguably today's biggest seller, couldn't even do it with his latest album.
Katy's off to a really good start with this next album IMO. It looks like her new song might be in the top ten before long! "Teenage Dream" is a really poor second single though, honestly. Definitely isn't as good as "California Gurls", which I already think is a pretty lame ripoff of "Tik Tok". I think she'll open with strong numbers, but definitely nowhere near a million. –Chase (talk) 04:10, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Nothing too exciting, honestly. –Chase (talk) 04:17, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Haha, I remember reading through it all and thinking how similar it was to the Gaga articles here. The reviewer who said it read like a wiki article was spot on. –Chase (talk) 04:25, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
I was also shocked at the book's misuse of quotes too. Like when Gaga was explaining where she was born on Jay Leno, the book quoted her as saying "I love the Bronx, but I'm from Manhattan"; I rewatched the interview not too long ago and she never even mentioned Manhattan. I guess fact-checking just isn't important for biographies anymore, huh? –Chase (talk) 04:34, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Saw your comment on the discography talk page. I think I may have reached my revert limit for today, could you revert that as well as the user who vandalized The Fame Monster's Canadian peak? –Chase (talk) 04:37, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Just spotted the revert - thanks! :) I know some things are exempt from 3RR but since it was another user who introduced the new certification style I wasn't sure if that qualified as reverting your own edits. –Chase (talk) 04:45, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

I'm not quite sure what you mean by the dash issue. Isn't the longer one (—) generally used in discography articles? Also, I'm not sure which statements need more refs, since most of the content is sourced from the article and doesn't need citing per WP:LEAD. I could try to find some references to back the hefty claim that the "Telephone" and "Alejandro" videos were controversial but I'm not sure what else would need extra sourcing. I would remove all of the extra certs, but User:Harout72 got really angry and defensive about the Japan certs being removed, went in a long rant about how Japan and Germany are two of the biggest markets in the world, accused me of bias towards English-speaking countries, etc. To reduce the edit warring, I think I'll leave the Germany and Japan certs in for now and remove them if they're mentioned at FLC.

I plan to nominate it for FL in a week or two, provided that the edit warring over the old version vs. the new version comes to a halt. I will look into your suggestions and thanks for all your comments about the article. –Chase (talk) 05:00, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Madonna's COADF album sales

I see you have been changing the sales for that album numerous times. I have a credible source ( a press release from her own label and Live Nation), while you have an article that says it sold "12 million". Please stop changing it, or I'll report you.--LAUGH90 (talk) 01:45, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

A press release is a primary source and fails WP:RS, report all you want, there's not only me who disagrees. You have been reverted a number of times. — Legolas (talk2me) 03:31, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Re: What's up

I've been hella good, and I know you're good cause you told me. :) These days? I'm working on episode articles that's all I do now. For the moment I'm retired from working on music related stuff. I'll un-retire when Justin Timberlake comes out with another album or when Coldplay release their next album; depends who has their stuff released first. "Bad Romance", really? I thought it'd be more like "Hung Up" or "Poker Face" for your FA ambitions. I'm surprised that my "favorite" song from Lady Gaga isn't a GA, oh well I guess. July 16 was your birthday? OMG, Happy late Birthday; Don't worry, next year I'll wish you a Happy Birthday on your birthday, I won't forget. Don't worry you'll get an "Awesome Wikipedia Day" soon, I guarantee it. ;) BTW, good work with the Madonna tours cause they passed GA. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 16:36, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I know, but if it's good music featured in their albums then it's worth the wait... right, music expert? lol. Okay, I was just wondering, cause you got the first Beyoncé and Lady Gaga collaboration, so I was a bit surprised that the second one wasn't. Congratulations on your engagement and getting ready to wed, hope you have a good ceremony is that what people say?, don't worry everyone gets scared when their wedding is coming up, it's a natural feeling. ;) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 15:54, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, you still have a couple of months, don't get nervous now. :) Oh, what a combo, "Telephone" and "Alejandro", good choices together [for GAN]. Yeah, Coldplay have material already, the stuff they didn't add in Viva la Vida, so. Justin, on the other hand, IDK what he's doing. His first album Justified came out in 2002, FutureSex/LoveSounds in 2006, a four year pattern, maybe he shocks everyone and releases something this year or next year. I've passed a couple of films to GA, but not FA, the latter I leave to the experts. Update: Just checked the W.E. page, everything looks good, though, I've never seen a collapsed box for the casting listing, though, IDK what goes on at WP:Film, so, but the rest looks good. If you want me to do a copy-edit or whatever after you finish, and when it comes out, let me know. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 16:18, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Sorry for not responding sooner, I got sidetracked. If it's shooting right now, it'll probably be released next year, I mean that's how the movie process is. Who knows, maybe this will be Madonna's big acting break. Yeah, I can't wait for whatever Coldplay is going to release this year or next year. That's what I thought too [about the extra tracks on Prospekt's March] but in an interview Chris Martin said that they had other songs they didn't include in Viva la Vida that they were going to include in the their new project, so. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 19:48, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
Of course it's gonna be epic, every new thing they present results in awesomeness but mostly greatness. :) "Yellow" and "Clocks" are a good example of that. Yeah, all the tracks were good, none that I disliked, though, the ones that stood [to me] were "Cemeteries of London", "Lovers in Japan", "Viva la Vida" [my favorite song], "Violet Hill", and "Death and All His Friends". Yeah, Timberlake is gonna be in that Facebook movie. Yes, Maroon 5 is back, and "Misery" has been playing in my head. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 20:07, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Good, cause it deserves to be number one in the Hot 100 chart. I like the music video, good story and stuff. Yeah, I saw a live concert on Fuse with Maroon 5 performing their new songs, and I thought they were kinda strange cause you know they don't sound like "This Love" or "Makes Me Wonder". "Viva la Vida" comes in second place as my favorite songs all of time; the first one is "Clocks". Madonna's in my top 5 with "4 Minutes". Here's my top 5 list: "Clocks", "Viva la Vida", "Rock Your Body", "4 Minutes", and "If I Never See Your Face Again". --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 00:13, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Re: Cleveland

Oh, yes, sorry for not replying. I saw your message right as I was about to go to sleep but I was too tired to reply. I tried to make a mental note to reply back today but I guess I forgot. My apologies, and that's fine about the Cleveland Leader source (though there's already a new CBS source to back 12 million sales so that's kind of irrelevant at this point). How are you? –Chase (talk) 05:42, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I heard! I couldn't believe it. I still don't believe it. Even though she's "technically" nominated for 18 awards, MTV only wants to recognize 13, which is still the most ever, so I'm not complaining! And I'm pretty sure my heart stopped when I found out Bad Romance and Telephone were both nominated for Video of the Year. That was pretty much when I died. –Chase (talk) 05:50, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Gagadaily has scans (albeit tagged by ONTD) in their gallery. It's a great article. –Chase (talk) 06:11, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
My bad, it's actually Lady-Gaga.net. I'd rather not link directly to the gallery per WP:COPYLINKS (violating Vanity Fair's copyright), go to the site, click "gallery" at the top and go all the way down to "last additions" some scans should be there. You'll spot them immediately; "ohnotheydidnt" is scribbled on them in purple. –Chase (talk) 06:23, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Lady Gaga

Hi! There is some very good new pictures from Gaga in the commons. Maybe you should put the better pics to the articles. Kirtap92 (talk) 12:58, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi

I see you've changed my image. I would appreciate you discussing this next time. 3a) Statees "Multiple items of non-free content are not used if one item can convey equivalent significant information. This is not the case in the text alone, Top: do you know what another planet looks like? middle: do you know what people exploding into glitter dust looks like? bottom: do you know what someone "unzipping" themself looks like? all three pass WP:NFCC#8 - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 04:45, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

I don't need to discuss NFCC changes when the combined image fails to do what you are proposing. a) I don't know what another planet looks like but so dosn't the image of Kesha in sand. b) See a. c) This is the only instance which passes notability and is being discussed in the sysnopsis of the video. I believe if you can find a better resolution wise image for the planet, I will be fine. As I haven't seen the video, probably I will be able to judge better. Also comemnt about the subsection thing as to why you feel it is needed? — Legolas (talk2me) 04:52, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
The image isnt her in sand, its her in sand on another planet but what ever, i can probably find a better one. Image two i argue because in the video its her in a mosh pit with others turning into glitter as they loose body parts. And i believe subsections are always a great idea when the information is available rather then lumping it all together in one messy section. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 05:00, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Exactly my point. Somebody dancing in sand, whether in another planet or not, will fail NFCC#8. Because you won't be ever able to tell what is teh difference btwn earth's sand, and the sand portrayed as you cannot post such a high resolution NFC. If you use image two, then what is the need of image 3? Both show the subjects getting disintegrated into colored sand. Herein it fails NFCC#3a. Even I also beleive that subsections are great, but at present there is pretty much not that big of information in the sections. Probably by time, when more and more reviews come and you can expand the background and synopsis, then maybe, but at this point of time it seems premature. Mind you, these are the exact points you will find should you ever take the Kesha articles to FAC. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:07, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Okay understood. I will upload a new image tomorrow that better enhances the description of the planet :). I would like the subsections kept as i believe its easier navigation and is more helpful to the reader. I dont ever plan to make any article other than her discography an FA so there is no violation in having this. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 05:11, 5 August 2010 (UTC) Also, how do you feel about this image in the Your Love is my drug? - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 05:13, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Now you baffle me :( Why won't you try to pursue her articles through FAC? There's no harm in giving a try. YLIMD and TIO may be premature but you can surely try with Animal and TT and BBB, after a through PR. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:14, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Hahaha, there all GA's and wont ever be de-listed and thats all i wanted. Blah Blah Blah and Tik Tok i dont think will pass because i only started editing a few months ago, there articles had already developed and alot of info was lost and is extremely difficult to expand now. Take It Off i believe could be an eventual FA cause im working my butt off on that article. Actually Animal could probably make FA too... hmmm :P. And TT and BBB music video images arnt that good, any suggestions on a better image for those articles? they dont really pass WP:NFCC (please dont tag for deletion ill upload new ones ASAP). - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 05:20, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
If you ask me, TT can easily be expanded further, seeing that it was teh first #1 of the new decade and is in the running for the #1 song of 2010. Try searching Google Archives. For BBB, the image which would pass NFCC would be when Kesha duct tapes a man. TT is pretty difficult in that respect I should say, but maybe Kesha in that empty room filled with glitter and money flying, would barely pass. Again, my interpretations. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:26, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Okay, if you stick around for 10 minutes im just cropping the BBB image now, if you could go read the article and gimme any FA suggestions that would be much appreciated seeing as you've written many. :) - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 05:31, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
I only wrote two FAs. Legolas (talk2me) 05:37, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
You've written 6 (i was including FL's) =). Ive uploaded the image, lemme know what you think. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 05:42, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

(Outdent) This image works fine. And yeah, I understood that you meant my (FAs + FLs ), just was kidding. I think the image that you uploaded works fine now. Btw, have you considered enlarging "Dirty Picture"? That song is just awesome! Its my party mix now. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:50, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

YES! Thank you, all my friends hate that song. I love anything by Kesha, i have 200+ songs of her on my ipod. I may work on it in the next couple weeks and try to get it to GA. If Take It Off flops i may work on it sooner. Its only 24 and 32 on Itunes right now so... hopefully it moves up alot on the charts tomorrow. So you think the money image is good for Tik Tok? that one really is hard to choose as most can be described in text alone, the current one kind of passes, as you dont know what her friend looks like as he's dressed up as someone else. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 05:58, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
I think the reason I stated that moeny image may pass is because, Kesha's image is known as this slutty, glitter adhered girl type (not in bad sense), hence that image can be the focal point as to the beginning of her transcendence to pop music. i really dig Kesha's music lately, with Gaga not releasing singles, but I won't say I like all of her material. My favourite Kesha song is actually "Tik Tok", "Take It Off" and "Dirty Picture". DP is just amazing, especially the beginning and the abrupt party beats. My most hated Kesha song is "My First Kiss" lol! — Legolas (talk2me) 06:05, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Ahhh you raise i fair point. I think i will do that image then. And yes, Gaga needs a new single, so pumped for her new album. try "Blind" and "Dancing With Tears In My Eyes", those are my favorite songs by her, Take It Off is my favorite upbeat one by her. And My First Kiss is pretty annoying actually, 3OH!3 annoys the hell out of me sometimes, but there new album is Great for the most part. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 06:10, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
I actually quite like "Dancing With Tears In My Eyes", somehow forgot to mention that, lol! Did you know that Kesha sang in Paris Hilton's song "Nothing in this World"? I saw that in the single liner credits, it mentions a certain "Keyshia Rose Sebert", it has got to be her because of their close association from The Simple Life. 3OH!3 annoys me too. Only reason I listen to BBB or MFK sometimes is because of Kesha. BBB I rather hear teh demo version to be honest. Looks like Animal will be re-released per pulsemusic. Wonder what other songs will she have in it? Or will it be something ala The Fame Monster? That was an amazing business like smart move. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:20, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
I know, she has sung and written for alot of people before Tik Tok. Party At A Rich Dudes house was written about when Kesha barfed in Paris's closet...they havnt spoke since then...i wonder why lol. And i think its a delux edition here Animal_(Kesha_album)#Track_listing Japan and Australia bonus tracks. I dont think she will do any new songs really because i know shes halfway done her second album, shes already written the first single and its penned for a late 2010 early 2011 release. I know she wants to release two more singles from Animal if Take It Off does well, if it doesnt im sure the label will scrap anymore singles from this album which sucks, i want Blind and Hungover to get released or something to show she has depth. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 06:26, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Ballads are really out of style hence i feel that DWTIME is a better 5th single. It has teh essence of being a downtempo but is beat driven. Should be perfect for the fall. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:32, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Very true, but i have a funny feeling she may release Kiss and Tell or Animal because she talks about those two songs in pretty much every interview. Animal would do well internationally probably not in the US or Canada. I want Gaga to release Monster, thats probably my favorite song by her. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 06:36, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Live – The Virgin Tour

I have started the review on your nomination of Live – The Virgin Tour. CrowzRSA 22:28, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Madonna page copyvio

I'm just a bit curious about your rationale for this reversion. I didn't re-revert, because the link's eligibility under WP:EL seems a bit iffy, but I'm trying to understand the copyvio assertion for a link to Life's own web site. They seem to be an unlikely group to violate copyrights. Fat&Happy (talk) 05:51, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

I don't see any link or any credit to Warner Bros. Group or Madonna for the pictures. Hence it is likely that they are using the images in a copyvio state. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:53, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
You might want to rethink that, given the site is run by a partnership of Getty Images and Time Inc.,[1] a subsidiary of TimeWarner, and they seem to think they have rights to not only display but license display by others[2] for all the content there. One would think a media giant like that would be sure to have all their ducks in order, copyrightwise. Fat&Happy (talk) 06:31, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Oh really, didn't see it in that way. Then I guess its fine to have it, if its a subsidiary of Time Warner. I will revert my edit. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:21, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Like a Virgin GA review

Hey Legolas. I finally found time to put this together, as you may have noticed by the time I have got this posted. There is not much that needs doing for GA status, although some of the advisory stuff will take a bit longer. Let me know if you need any clarification or help.--SabreBD (talk) 11:51, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello, Legolas2186. You have new messages at Sabrebd's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Its all passed and sorted. Keep up the good work and congratulations.--SabreBD (talk) 06:36, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

So why was the statement inserted into the lead removed after the GA was approved? It rather seems against the spirit of the process and makes me feel my advice is pretty worthless.--SabreBD (talk) 13:03, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Well seeing that it was being repeated in the same LEAD, I thought of removing it. You are free to add it back if you feel so. I didnt mean to offend you :( — Legolas (talk2me) 14:14, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Reply

Sorry, I was planning on replying to your advice on my talk page, but I've been busy and not presently on Wikipedia as much as I used to but thanks, and I really use the Gaga articles as models on my GA! And I will get to corrections on the Ciara discography as soon as I can, but I'm kind of hesitant to starting yet since it seems as users are working to change the style of discogs soon. Candyo32 21:46, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Don;t worry, take your time, FLCs generally don;t work out in the first attempt always. If it fails, give it for a Peer Review, then renominate it. Its good work basically. Legolas (talk2me) 03:30, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Taare Zameen Par

Hello. Classicfilms and I recently overhauled the article for Taare Zameen Par. He mentioned that you were a friend and were in the Indian Cinema wikiproject, so I was wondering if you wouldn't mind taking a look at the article for any concerns or possibilities of improvement? Thanks. Ωphois 04:12, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Oh yeah, I would reply on your, or the article talk page soon. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:17, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Re: Cherrytree

Hmm, I will keep an eye out but I will also try to look for some more references to see if it can be expanded further than it was before the redirect. It might chart on the Billboard 200 this week due to being reissued but of course, general notability should first be established. –Chase (talk) 05:00, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the charts to see what happens! Billboard's also expecting a top ten debut for The Remix which is amazing! I'm not sure which remix album was the last to do that but I'm sure it's been quite awhile! And did you see this tweet from Laurieann Gibson? =( –Chase (talk) 05:12, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
I read somewhere that Lady Starlight came on stage in the middle of the set and they lit hairspray on fire while dancing to Metallica! I'll have to find a video of that! –Chase (talk) 05:18, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
"Hooker on a Church Corner" leaked?! Wow, I need to start looking for that now! Did you see the album credits that leaked tonight? It had a list of some songs that were recorded and writing credits, including that song, "Born This Way", and a few other songs. And David Bowie apparently did one song with her called "Vinyl". That should be interesting to hear. –Chase (talk) 05:27, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

It's okay :) Bluesatellite (talk) 10:31, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Not yet, heheh. I've just entered university, so I'm seldom contributing to Wikipedia. But I'm gonna search them soon  :) Bluesatellite (talk) 10:48, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
No, it's "Money, Money, Money". I'm studying Accountancy. Bluesatellite (talk) 11:01, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
Don't tell me that you gonna leave Wikipedia. This website really needs wonderful editors like you. You have legacy for Madonna's related articles. I guess I cant replace your position. I'm just one of Madonna fans who adding minor informations here, not a 'crazy' daily editor who is developing high-quality articles for the pop legend :) Bluesatellite (talk) 11:20, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Not really

I drop in every now and then, however. How are you? Aaroncrick TALK 11:18, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Ah, that's no good. Never had one of those, luckily. Aaroncrick TALK 22:59, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Lady Gaga discography

My bad on that. Guess I wasn't paying enough attention. –Chase (talk) 05:48, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

No probs. Chillax — Legolas (talk2me) 05:53, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Actually looking closely at that edit only the Swedish "Alejandro" update was correct. I was positive that the Canadian The Fame Monster peak was vandalized, and it turns out I was correct. You always have to watch for users who will partially add encyclopedic info and partially add false crap, it seems. –Chase (talk) 05:56, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Is it just my computer acting up or is this not indenting properly? –Chase (talk) 05:58, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
I think its for all! :( I could swear that he updated only the Swedish album peak. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:15, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Audio Files

Hi Legolas, I really need a bit of help in this department. I would like to include those "Sound or audio file snippets" that are around 20-30 seconds that you could listen to on the albums page. I don't know how to find them, place them or use them for the matter. Ive noticed that you have placed them in many Madonna articles so you probably know how to do it. Thanks!.--PeterGriffinTalk 19:39, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Sorry Peter, I really don't know how to upload teh song sample files. I have never uploaded any one of them. Which article did you see me doing it? You can probably ask User:Alecsdaniel or User:Chasewc91. — Legolas (talk2me) 03:36, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Hey, so I thought you must have placed them because you helped ascend them to GA or FA level. Thanks anyway though, Ill ask one of these other users. Thanks!--PeterGriffinTalk 03:58, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Your removal of my content in this article regarding high profile parodies of the song was unacceptable. You stated it was because "Unofficial YouTube Links are blatant copyright violations." This is patent nonsense. It literally has no discernible meaning. A YouTube link is in no way shape or form a "copyright violation"; there's no way a web link could violate a copyright because you can't copyright a URL. Please open up a discussion on the topic in the talk section if you choose, and explain with actual reasons pertaining to Wikipedia's rules why you feel this section should be eliminated. CouplandForever (talk) 23:23, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Two links, WP:V and WP:RS, boop now. — Legolas (talk2me) 03:36, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Gaga

Woops. Beat me to it. He he. While you are at it, how busy are you? I'm in the middle of developing Madonna's Who's That Girl (soundtrack) at my sandbox. Wanna help me out? — Legolas (talk2me) 05:59, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Oops sorry, I'll revert myself and you can re-revert me. With this is almost the same revert ;). For now I'm not busy I finished the expansion of a new article and now I got nothing to do. Of course I'll help you with that, but, you know, is the one o'clock, so I would help you in the morning of course. TbhotchTalk C. 06:06, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Fine by me :) Just see if you can find online reviews for the soundtrack, though I believe all will be negative only. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:12, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
They should exist because this album is not Playing With Fire TbhotchTalk C. 06:15, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
LOL, Oh I miss Kevin Federline. Trashing him in college days was fun :) — Legolas (talk2me) 06:22, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, it's a pity that he didn't continue doing "good musiC" TbhotchTalk C. 06:34, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for second my user page protection, but I like it free since I have no problem with that, excepting if there are comments like these or the recent /b/ comments, that, fortunately, I don't know what they said. By the way, the hook of the biographic book of Madonna was ticked, and the reviewer left a comment. TbhotchTalk C. 16:09, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

OMG, a lot many thanks for these edits!!! — Legolas (talk2me) 04:26, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Your welcome, I only expanded it a bit,but unfortunatly after some search through Google book, news and web I didn't find other reviews. TbhotchTalk C. 04:52, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks anyways. now see me at work! He he. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:54, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Glad you like it. We need more laughs around here. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:00, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Nice pics you have, really. TbhotchTalk C. 05:03, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Is it me or my talk page is not indenting properly?? — Legolas (talk2me) 05:09, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
I think that is your talkpage, because if I press "show changes" the indentation is visible. TbhotchTalk C. 05:15, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
It dissapear after this section. TbhotchTalk C. 05:16, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for pointing. Lets do the dance. By the way did I tell you that I am probably gonna leave WP 4ever? — Legolas (talk2me) 05:32, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Really, that is a sad notice, but why? TbhotchTalk C. 05:35, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Marriage coming up. Really don't know what will happen after that as family life is important. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:37, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Yes the real life first and congrats for you wedding, hopefully your future wife will let you work here too. TbhotchTalk C. 05:44, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Its not about the wifey letting me, just that I will probably be busy. I might pop in time and again. But its so soon, in October!Legolas (talk2me) 05:46, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Well at least we have you for a pair of months. :) TbhotchTalk C. 05:52, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

-- That's why I'm more relaxed now, developing articles at my choice, just monitoring others. Wonder what will happen to WP:MADONNA and WP:GAGA. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:56, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Fortunately the currents GAs will have the same status for a long time, in the Madonna Wikiproject, but by the other hand Gaga's GA could fall into the GAR, you know how the fans are. TbhotchTalk C. 06:02, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Sigh! You speak trufacts. Probably I can only monitor the Gaga articles time to time then. Good point. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:04, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Luckily I'm watching some of them, so fancruft won't pass. TbhotchTalk C. 06:07, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Good good, but it will probably be the recent ones which would be more subjected to vandalism and fancruft, especially since she is releasing another album year end. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:16, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Maybe with pending changes those articles will work, but perhaps not as the level of the first two. TbhotchTalk C. 06:21, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Who knows, with "Bad Romance" getting 13 noms and the Grammy's also coming, we are in time for a havoc of the articles. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:24, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
lol, only the future will know. I'll go to bed, it was nice to talk with you, see you the Monday, have a nice weekend and I'll try to expand the most I can of Who's That Girl. See ya TbhotchTalk C. 06:32, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm in Mexico, so are ten hours and a half of difference. TbhotchTalk C. 16:18, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

lol TbhotchTalk C. 04:40, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Hey again Legolas. Now I for sure have noticed that you've promoted many pages to these statuses..lol. So Im kind of starting to drastically fix up allot of pages and promote them to GA and featured list status. So I know the criteria, and I kind of use your past work as references so I know what direction to take, but I have a few more questions. #1. How long does the process (of getting it promoted) usually take, if the article is good enough of course? #2. Can you can give me instructions for the quickest and easiest way to promote an album to GA status, and the same for a Featured List? Thanks!--PeterGriffinTalk 17:33, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

There's seriously no easy way to do it. You have to do a lot of research, citing books, journals, scholarly work and third party reliable sources if you wanna take the MC articles to GA or FA. Better start with GA first and then move to the process of Peer Review and then FA/FL. Check the "We Belong Together" MC article which is the only GA at present. You can probably start a MC wikiproject too if you want. That's better way to structure her articles. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:02, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Hey, so I didn't mean an easy way in terms of work or quality, I meant in the promotion process once the article is ready and eligible. For example, I have been working on "Mariah Carey (album)" for the last few days, and here is what the article looked like before I started. And this is what is looks like now. As you can see I reconstructed the whole page and its references, as long probably quadrupled its length and information. Im pretty sure the work is of quality as Madonna's GA articles, but if you don't mind to take a look at both and tell me what you think. If you think its pretty close, then if you could explain to me an easy way to promote it to GA level. Thanks!--PeterGriffinTalk 09:21, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
If you think that it is ready, then nominate it for GA. Although for me, its far from ready. Things like MOS is pretty abundant, with usage of WP:NDASH not present anywhere. Particularly WP:OR is the chart performance section. None of the charts point to the peak of the album, so are teh certifications. You don't need to link the book in each and every reference, check the Madonna albums for how they are done. That worldwide claim by the live nation store is unacceptable. The legacy section doesnot talk about the album, rather goes on about how "Vision of Love" was epic. The introduction is WP:UNDUE. What happened to Carey's life is of no use in her album article. There are so many dead links in the article. just a basic scan led me to so many points, imagine what a thorough search would do. — Legolas (talk2me) 09:58, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
I agree with most things your saying, which I will fix up, but fond the introduction very fairly written, there nothing biased there and its all sourced. Also, thing is I dont know how to nominate it, so if you could tell me how.--PeterGriffinTalk 10:50, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Check WP:GAN, the instructions are there for nomination. And I did not say that the introduction is biased, its undue, ie its unnecessary. People coming to read about the album won't be interested in where Carey was born, who burnt her dog etc. These are stuff which makes the article deviate from its normal album flow, which should be talking about the music, which is astonishingly missing. — Legolas (talk2me) 10:59, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Makes sense, thanks Legolas :D--PeterGriffinTalk 11:10, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello. Im puzzled with something. Lets say this is a book source I will use for a nice portion of the article, how do I format it so it doesnt show up 30 times in the ref list? Like how could I short cut it, or have the source apply for all, you know what I mean? Shapiro, Marc (2001). Mariah Carey: The Authorized Biography. ECW Press. ISBN 978-1550224443. {{cite book}}: Cite has empty unknown parameter: |coauthors= (help); Unknown parameter |month= ignored (help)--PeterGriffinTalk 11:34, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Hi, Peter (and Legolas), I hope you don't mind me dropping in (*packs chute*). Reusing refs is explained briefly (although it's not really complicated) at WP:NAMEDREFS. Of course, this is only for citations which are really identical; you've got so many cites on Mariah Carey (album) that I wonder if they're really all on the same page. In any case, none of the cites include a page number, so add that to your list.
In addition to the items Legolas mentioned about the article, I noticed one other thing that I believe is missing. That article is screaming out for a sound sample of "Vision of Love", since so much is made in the Legacy section about its range, difficulty, etc., and that it "is the song that set off the melisma trend".
Good luck with the article. Now to walk back to the airstrip, repack my chute, and jump again. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 12:08, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
John! I actually appreciate your butting in :). Thanks for the tips, yeah I agree, if you see a bit higher on Legolas' talk page, I asked him about audio files as well, however I have no idea how to upload and cut them up, so Im stuck there as well. Any ideas?--PeterGriffinTalk 12:14, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, that's completely out of my area. I have no access to the song, recording or editing software or hardware, and I've never uploaded a single thing to WP. The guys to ask, though, are (at least one of) Lil-unique1 and L-l-CLK-l-l. I'm sure one or the other can help you. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 12:37, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Perfect, thanks John :D.--PeterGriffinTalk 12:52, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

I have "Vision of Love" I can upload a sample if you want to, just let me know what part of the song you need.Frcm1988 (talk) 15:58, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

What do you think? Also, if you come online within the next several hours, could you please revert the editor at Lady Gaga discography who keeps reverting to the old version against consensus? I've hit 3RR undoing his disruptive edits. –Chase (talk) 02:22, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Who's that Girl

Hi Legolas, I just looked and I only see one issue of Billboard in December 1987, apparently the album peaked in September, the album only appear on the Italian chart going from ten to sixteen. I have never found another archive of the chart, only one for singles between 1995 to 2000. I think that unfortunately you will have to wait for Billboard to update the archives, altough you can put the succession box if it peaked at number one, since you don't have to source the boxes. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 04:19, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Well if you see that 1987 issue the album chart have Faith as number one, and the Eurochart issue is dated 19/12/87, Billboard magazine is dated 26/12/87. Who's that Girl peaked at number one in September 26, so the Billboard issue will be October 3, 1987. The volume number is 99 and the issue will be 40, the only thing missing is the page number :D Frcm1988 (talk) 04:35, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
Haha I was thinking the same thing :D Frcm1988 (talk) 04:44, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
I love '90s music, altought I have to say that I never follow her that much, but I remember been at school when she released Come on Over, her videos were on TV all the time: I liked "You're Still the one", "From this Momente On", "That don't Impress me Much", but my favorite have to be "Don't be stupid". Frcm1988 (talk) 04:58, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
Oh great, we can do that. Probably "You're Still the one" will be the easiest to find info for. I thought that some of Janet's songs were already GA, since some of her albums are very well structured, I only like a few songs from Control and Rhythm Nation, and I don't really care that much about Celine, I only like "Because you Love Me". And I think Whitney dosen't have a GA article too, and well neither does the diva's wannabes like Estefan, Abdul or Tyler. Frcm1988 (talk) 05:19, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
Yes in the book there is some info about Janet's singles but probably not enough for the article. I don't really care about Mariah that much really, only like "Vision of Love" and "Without You". But back to Shania, what are you planning "You're still the one"?, I just seen her page and I can't believe she released TWELVE!!!!! singles from Come on Over, that album was truly epic. Frcm1988 (talk) 05:50, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
Ok I was planning to do a couple more Spice Girls' songs but I can delay those. I will start searching for some sources, so you probably will end Who's that Girl today :D hahaha, let me know when you finish the article. Frcm1988 (talk) 06:06, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
Haha ok, while I develop the Spice Girls article I will also start gathering for reviews of "You're Still the one", and maybe some peak positions on Billboard magazine, let me know when you finish the Who's that Girl topic. Frcm1988 (talk) 06:20, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Ha, ha. Yes Im so bad and mean, I should be punished :D Frcm1988 (talk) 14:18, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

I will comment at the FLC, but be prepared for my sharp tongue! Bwahahahahaha! I am just waiting to see the outcome of all the Mariah business and the drama. BTW, did you see Kesha on the Today show? If so, describe it to me fast! I somehow missed it. :( — Legolas (talk2me) 12:34, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Hahah your harsh words are welcome :). And oh my gosh, she was really good, she sounded alot better, i wonder if shes been taking vocal lessons or something cause she was good. She was energetic and funny, and im surprised but there was more parents in the audience then kids, i guess she has a good age range of fans (She performed Take It Off, Your Love Is My Drug and Tik Tok) - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 18:53, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

DYK for Madonna: An Intimate Biography

Courcelles 12:02, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi, Legolas. Since you have so much experience with GA and FA articles, I'd like to invite your participation. It is typical that reviewers of GAC, FLC, etc. pages look at MOS:DISCOG for guidance about what should be included and how it should look. To change any discog article, it's generally useful to make sure it matches exactly with the guidelines in the MOS:DISCOG, lest it be reverted. So I've opened a discussion (which I had hoped would be livelier) at Certifications column heading links about making a couple of small changes to MOS:DISCOG. It's a tiny matter, I think, but I'd be grateful if you could take the time to look over the issues and weigh in. Thanks, — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 14:09, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Re: Mariah

Hi Legolas, apologies I'f my new signature put you off or made it same as if i was trolling. Tbh it had never crossed my mind but its very much a possibility and i'm erring towards agreeing with the conclusion you've come too. I dont knwo if there is enough evidence for a sock puppet investigation. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 (talk2me) 21:55, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Your accusing me of sock-puppetry now? For your information I didn't even begin to develop Mariah Carey related articles until a week ago, so don't try and link me to every Carey editor. Honestly, I'm shocked how you continuously try and belittle my work, myself as an editor and your accusations.--PeterGriffinTalk 22:31, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry to butt in. I hate it when people do it to me but if you take a look at Mariah Carey (album). PeterGriffin single-handidly made the article GA. And hasn't been warned for anything in a VERY long time! Jayy008 (talk) 22:35, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Peter, your edits and AlastorMoody's edits are too similar to ignore, coupled with the GAR and the issue at FLC, yes I don't place that much trust in your edits. No issue with you Jamie. — Legolas (talk2me) 03:30, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Thats fine, I don't trust you either. You don't keep your word, obviously "turning over a new leaf" and "working together" mean totally different things to you and me.--PeterGriffinTalk 06:14, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Haha don't worry Legolas... I was playing along with the signature thing. Regardless of whether Alastormoody and Peter have any connection it was inappropriate for a new user with barely a month's experience to make comments on a GAR when its obvious he/she has no prior experience of GA/FAs. Aside from any links to Peter, Alastormoody needs investigation because he/she has made comments which suggest that they know much more about wikipedia policies etc. than the age of their account and number of edits would suggest. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 (talk2me) 17:39, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Madonna-Music/ Madonna-Hard Candy

Hey, I saw your reply on the page of Music, and I couldn't help but feeling that you seemed a petit agitated. I certainly hope not, because even though I don't per sé agree with you, the last that I would want is to see you upset. I can understand your point of view, therefore I changed the page. I've left "American Pie" in the singles-list, though I haven't given it a number, replacing that with a "-", and below that explaining that it was, in retrospect, the first single of this album for areas outside North-America. But since there is no number in the list, it is not counted as one. I hope that you can agree with this solution? Anyhow, I still don't really agree with you, and in terms of the Britney Spears single I absolutely don't agree with you (well, your example of Lady GaGa, to be precise), but going further on that won't do any good, so as far as I'm concerned I'm with you on that topic being closed (in the Netherlands there's a saying that says "oude koeien uit de sloot halen" (translated something as "digging old cows from the ditch" (which sounds, as I'm typing it, utterly srange in English, I know ;)), which means that some things are better left the way they are).

I also saw your remarks on the "Hard Candy" page, and I must admit, to me it did felt a bit like a personal attack, because of the 'did you' remark. That being said, you áre right. Especially on the WP:OR part, I knew exactly what you meant (welcome back to earth, Rob ;)). So eventhough it did felt a bit too attack-like, I must thank you for that (although I might be known for my sarcasm; this remark is without any form of it!). I have even looked on the internet, but "American Life" still stands as Madonna's least selling album. Time (and internet?) will tell if that changes. But since there is no source that can provide this, it shouldn't be in the article.

Anyhow, I hope that there are no hard feelings, and if there were any, that this post has dissolved them. :) Best regards, Robster1983 (talk) 15:28, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

There's no hard feelings Rob, I am leaving wiki soon, so might had been a little iritated with sumthing else which might have been poured out in the comments. Sorry for that. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:10, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
You're leaving wiki soon? How come? For good, or just temporarily? Anyhow, although I might not see eye 2 eye with you on some things, I hope it's not for good, for I do know that you did much good around here. :) Just don't be a stranger, will you? :) Robster1983 (talk) 18:43, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Madonna singles

I see no reason not too. Besides for being "unnecessary" what reason is there not to place them?--PeterGriffinTalk 07:35, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Musikindustrie is for Germany, not Denmark, secondly Norway is not listed in the chart table, thirdly, only the biggest music markets are kept. Since this is a FL, adding lesser Euro markets like Denmark and norway is WP:UNDUE. You can add them in the singles articles if you please. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:45, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Right ok, but why do you keep saying that? I didn't add Denmark, I added Germany. The correct abbreviation for Germany is "DE".--PeterGriffinTalk 07:54, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
LOL. Did ya? Well in WP, German certifications are added with Abbreviations as GER, for Denmark its DEN. — Legolas (talk2me) 08:17, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Yup that how it works. I never heard that, and besides it especially wouldn't be like that if it were a 2 letter abb. Honestly, the discography should be consistent and have either all the countries using a 3 letter like AUS and GER, or two letter like US and UK. There are 2 and 3 available for all countries like USA and GBT, so yeah.--PeterGriffinTalk 14:48, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Wonderland - Lady Gaga Album?

Since you know more about her than most of wikipedia as far as I know...

What do you know of the supposed album Wonderland? It shows a Japanese Deluxe Edition (I do not think that's a Warez, delete link if it turns out to be), but I can't find any real sources of information. I recognize "Dirty Ice Cream" as a bonus from another album I found. I also found something called Inner Fire. CycloneGU (talk) 18:38, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Music Box (album)

Hello Legolas. Just wondering your opinion from the article (I saw you edited it already) so I'm wondering what you think. Is it better than "Mariah Carey (album)"? Do you think the issues on the first one were resolved and improved in this one. Of course, I know this "opinion" would only be from a quick glance. Thank you--PeterGriffinTalk 07:06, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Again you are forgetting that a consistency of MOS should be there. You are sometimes using the {{harvnb}} for the books, sometimes directly using the book from google reference. Billboard is an online source and should be italicized, while being linked to Billboard (magazine). Same goes for any printed media. And one linking of a reference is enough. See WP:OVERLINK. Remove capitalization of source title, even if they are in caps in the actual source. And avoid repeating the same references. I think you know about WP:NAMEDREFS by now. I saw the australian and NZ chart books being repeated quite a few times. There is no consistency in the year ranges in teh Chart procession section. Conversely, the singles charts is gross WP:UNDUE. You are to give an overview of the singles, not country by country certifications. Remember, that this is the album article, not the singles one ("vision of love" fiasco). The chart performance section is haphazard, since it goes talking from one market to another, without any link between them. The article body is beginning with a sentence like "After the success of Carey's previous album Mariah Carey and Emotions, Sony wanted to take Music Box in a new direction, but not too far from her older releases" — This implies as if the name Music Box was already decided while Carey released Emotions, which is untrue. Consider revising or removing or researching why it was called Music Box. "In future projects, they would continue solely writing material for Carey's albums, until her 1999 release Rainbow where he is absent from the writing credits" — Is it necessary to talk about future albums, and that too albums so far released?
These are the basic things I found in one eyesight. Imagine the amount of erroneous additions an in-depth analysis would reveal. So I wished that you would have given the article for WP:PR instead of going for GAN now, as it is premature still. — Legolas (talk2me) 08:00, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
Okay, thank you for your time and opinion.--PeterGriffinTalk 08:31, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Good Faith

I don't believe I was deviating from the topic. It's just Max24's only motivation for the post was his personal vendetta and the post wouldn't have existed if another user had made the edits. I like to be impartial and if you see the post above, the one that wasn't made by Max24 I commented on and spoke my views on the issue. Max24 makes a post then requests all users that dislike Mariah Carey or dislike PeterGriffin to get involved, I noticed it as I've watchlisted her discography. Don't you think that's unfair? Hey, ive left comments on the FL page. Theres only 4 issues i didnt correct because i couldn't locate them or i left an explanation as to why im not changing it. :) If you could fix the 3 outstanding (very easy im just not sure where they are) that would be great. Let me know if you find anymore issues or if i have missed any or made a mistake (i dont think i did though).
