Hello Dianna, Thank you for this feedback, would you be able to outline exactly what you removed, so that I may correct accordingly? KyleC199 (talk) 15:10, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I removed content you copied from https://www.mayordrewdilkens.ca/bio and https://windsor.ctvnews.ca/city-of-windsor-receives-an-a-grade-for-climate-action-1.5191425. IK havew removed copyright violations again today. Edits to Wikipedia may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless used with written permission from the copyright holder. If the copyright holder wishes to release this material under a compatible license, please see WP:Requesting copyright permission for an explanation of how to do it. There's a sample permission email at WP:Consent. — Diannaa (talk) 22:02, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, KyleC199. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Drew Dilkens, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 22:10, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Diannaa:
I just made edits to the page. I think it should address your copyright concerns (the plaigarism concerns have already been addressed too).
I would really appreciate if you would stop deleting massive blocks of the page. Instead, could you please point out any specific places on the page you still take issue with? I would be more than happy to address your concerns and make alterations if you did so, rather than just deleting everything point blank. I don't think that serves the page well and it's a slap in the face to all the hard work that I have been doing to make Wikipedia a better place and help Windsor residents stay educated.
Let's use the pencil more, and the eraser less. KyleC199 (talk) 15:36, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have once again removed copyright content copied from https://www.mayordrewdilkens.ca/bio. Your recent addition has a 90% overlap with that page. Please note that I am under no obligation to re-write the content for you or even to work with you to edit it. I also note your multiple attempts to remove sourced criticism of Dilkens from the article. That's not okay.
This is your final warning. Further violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy will result in you being blocked from editing. — Diannaa (talk) 19:13, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Respectfully, Diannaa, you're claim that what I have inserted has a 90% overlap with the Mayor's website is factually incorrect. In fact, I rewrote everything.
I am more than happy to leave criticism in the article. I'm just as critical of politicians as the next guy is. That being said, the places in which you have inserted the criticism don't make sense, and since you have no regard for the time I put into the site, I have no regard for yours, either. KyleC199 (talk) 19:29, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your latest addition got flagged by our copyvio detection system, called CopyPatrol. Here is a link to the bot report. Click on the iThenticate link to view what the bot found. Use of a different tool gave me the result of 90.2% overlap. — Diannaa (talk) 21:53, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Diannaa. This report is helpful for me to view to make sure I can learn from my mistakes and write better.
I just made some more changes to the page, however, only a few; I want to take some time to re-look over other parts. So, I am editing in pieces now.
I added the COVID-19 section back and changed everything so it is in my own words. I also agree that the Bright Lights criticism should not have been removed. In fact, I have actually expanded on that now, and it is included under Road Infrastructure and Flooding section. I think now there is more context in that paragraph.
Please let me know if there are any issues. I am actively trying to play by the rules here. Hopefully, we can work together collaboratively and peacefully. KyleC199 (talk) 13:49, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Diannaa:
This is very disappointing, and I think, uncalled for given by recent efforts to be diplomatic. Could you please explain what in my recent edits warranted this? KyleC199 (talk) 13:52, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
