Whaaaaaaa?

[edit]

If I'd realized you were even thinking about it I'd have been on your case to run, but I thought you'd had enough. Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 23:41, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was so burned out at the end of 2021. That last year was hard. But 11 candidates for nine seats really isn't enough, and I'm in a better place with my vision now, and I think I've got a little more left to give. Might as well give it now, ya know? Katietalk 00:00, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I for one am thrilled. Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 03:39, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Aw, thanks. Good luck, and stay warm up there. :-) Katietalk 04:01, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reminder to participate in Wikipedia research

[edit]

Hello,

I recently invited you to take a survey about administration on Wikipedia. If you haven’t yet had a chance, there is still time to participate– we’d truly appreciate your feedback. The survey is anonymous and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement.

Take the survey here.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team

OS/RD query

[edit]

Hi Katie. Please review your action. Except for the 13:35, 9 May 2024 (UTC) revision, I don't see how WP:CRD or WP:OSPOL are met for the content or edit summaries. The contents from those other revisions are available elsewhere in the page history. — JJMC89(T·C) 22:16, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fine with changing it, but why is a steward who does not hold OS rights on enwiki looking at the enwiki suppression logs? Katietalk 22:30, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JJMC89: Talking to you. Katietalk 22:48, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I ran into the redacted revisions while looking at the article history for a VRT ticket. Since I can see the content, I looked at the log to know who to ask about reversing the suppression. — JJMC89(T·C) 23:36, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JJMC89 Out of curiosity, what was the ticket number? CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 23:45, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ticket:2024111410004074, which someone else answered after I switched gears for work — JJMC89(T·C) 00:06, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:14, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for standing for arbitrator. I am far away from it all (travel, mourning), not in the mood, so just an informal question you can answer or ignore:

What does this 2024 DYK tell you about infoboxes for classical composers in 2024? -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:23, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate and thank you for the question, Gerda, but it tells me nothing. I don't have the first clue where you want me to go with that. Katietalk 17:42, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, 11 years ago infoboxes for classical composers were a hot topic. If you look at the talk pages of the 5 composers, do you think they still are? -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:23, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's not what you asked me to do, but okay – looks to me like the Mahler page doesn't have an infobox and there's a lively discussion going on about it. Crossing my fingers that it doesn't descend into chaos and misery. Katietalk 13:12, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
