Speedy deletion nomination of Useless Project Band
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on Useless Project Band requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Refinnejann (talk) 05:02, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Non-free rationale for File:Michelle Ferre.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Michelle Ferre.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:01, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Your contributed article, Anna murphy
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Anna murphy. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Eluveitie. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Eluveitie - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Bazj (talk) 21:08, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
Contested deletion
[edit]A Question :- Could you Bazj please explain why my article on Anna Murphy a band member of Eluveitie is tagged for speedy deletion even though one of their member's page Chrigel Glanzmann is not tagged for speedy deletion? I mean, is it wrong to put up articles about members of a band? If so, please tag this page for deletion as well Chrigel Glanzmann, and the thousands of other pages on members of bands such as Metallica, Megadeth etc. etc... Kaitheloner (talk) 21:16, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- The article on Chrigel Glanzmann mentions other stuff he's done, and links to it. The article on Anna Murphy only covered her work with Eluveitie and added nothing to what was already in the Eluveitie article. If the article title had been "Anna Murphy" I might have made the page a redirect to Eluveitie, but it was "Anna murphy", a typo that also needed fixing.
- The image you uploaded, Commons:File:Anna Murphy.jpeg, is a copyright image for which you've provided no licensing information.
- If there's more to Anna Murphy than her involvement with Eluveitie then please recreate the article and add the detail. You might also like to read the guidance on notability, it may help you get a grip on the difference between Eluveitie and bands such as Metallica, Megadeth etc. etc... [edit]The recent edit you made to United People's Democratic Solidarity has been reverted, as it removed all content from the page without explanation. Please do not do this, as it is considered vandalism; use the sandbox for testing. If you think the page should be deleted, see here for what to do. Thank you. Disambiguation link notification for September 18
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Karbi people, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Assamese and Karbi. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
