Wednesday August 30, 7pm: WikiWednesday Salon and Skill-Share NYC

You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community for our monthly "WikiWednesday" evening salon (7-9pm) and knowledge-sharing workshop at Babycastles gallery by 14th Street / Union Square in Manhattan.

We will include a look at the organization and planning for our chapter, and expanding volunteer roles for both regular Wikipedia editors and new participants.

We will also follow up on plans for recent and upcoming edit-a-thons, museum and library projects, education initiatives, and other outreach activities.

We welcome the participation of our friends from the Free Culture movement and from all educational and cultural institutions interested in developing free knowledge projects.

After the main meeting, pizza/chicken/vegetables and refreshments and video games in the gallery!

7:00pm - 9:00 pm at Babycastles gallery, 145 West 14th Street
(note the new address, a couple of doors down from the former Babycastles location)

Hi, the changes I made to the citations on Woodside Store are to conform to American MDY date standards, as well as adding correct author information, non-mobile URL, and https where available. I don't see how any of this would need a remark on the talk page of the article. The visual edit also creates refnames that are a bit hard to be human recognizable between each other when editing so I sought to change that as well. Just wanted to clarify, thanks. I am sorry for the confusion @Jeanjung212:, are you newer to editing WP? Why you would change the dates to a American MDY format when (yyyy-mm-dd) is acceptable (and part of the built in VE/visual editor) and then on top of that you added in new days for the dates of all the citations? When you make any changes to a Wikipedia page you add a note in the change screen as to what you are correcting, this is generally how we know if someone is fixing/making better, or with good intentions - it's one way we communicate here. @Jooojay: I changed the dates for consistency because I was already reviewing all the citations. Month Day, Year is also an acceptable format, I'll leave your dates as there are though. The only date that I "added in new days" was for the citation that had no date at all, the "If walls could talk" article from the SMDJ, so I'm not sure what you mean by that comment? I've applied a new edit to the article and citations I think you can be satisfied with because I didn't touch the dates besides the one that was missing. Thanks!
