Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of JoLLE@UGA, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.georgiacenter.uga.edu/uga-hotel/conferences-events/register/jolle-conference-2015.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on JoLLE@UGA requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.georgiacenter.uga.edu/uga-hotel/conferences-events/register/jolle-conference-2015. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. @ 05:12, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:30, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am working to create a historical reference page for this journal to show how the it has grown since 2004 and document all of its board members. Being new to a user account on Wikipedia, I am definitely learning how to navigate and create a strong article. I tried to provide direct links as reference points back to where I found the information. Also, in one of the notes on the page, it was mentioned that I needed to provide sources, so I thought that was what I was doing under Wikipedia's terms. This is all very new to me, and I did not mean to cause any problems. I also need to eventually "move" the page so it is not JoLLE@UGA but instead the full title of the piece since that is more historical accurate.I've been reading the FAQs page nonstop! If I could please be unblocked, I would greatly appreciate it. I also appreciate such a strong community that double checks everything and points me in the right direction because I'm definitely struggling trying to find everything I need!

Decline reason:

You cannot use the name of the journal as your user name. Please read WP:USERNAME. Please also read WP:RS about reliable independent sources. Unlike the academic world, we want references from outside sources to prove notability. I've removed the duplicate request. Peridon (talk) 17:26, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Thank you all for your continued patience. Again, I am completely new to using a Wikipedia account. Just when I think I have read all of the FAQs, I find more. I would like to change my username, which should meet the guidelines presented in the username requirements. Again, I am working to create a historical reference page, so any help or guidance you all can provide to help get me unblocked would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again.

Decline reason:

The page you created previously lacked sources to demonstrate notability. PhilKnight (talk) 08:30, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure how I'm supposed to fix issues of notability if I can't have access to the page? And I can't have access to the page if someone will not allow me to change my username. I am really trying to do the right thing here and work to create a reference that can be used by other scholars in the field of education to find connections and facts on the historical reference page I am trying to create. To show you an example of what I hope to do (but more detailed with the historical references of editorial board members and their reach within the literacy field, please view here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journal_of_Literacy_Research Could someone please help me get this fixed, so I can in turn make the Journal of Language and Literacy Education page a stronger piece for the overall community? I guess in hindsight, instead of publishing from the onset, I should have created in the Sandbox if I'm understanding how this feature works now. Again, a LOT to learn here in regards to creating an account, creating an article, and actually publishing it.

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. PhilKnight (talk) 12:23, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
