Welcome!
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Contributing to Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Editing tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Simplified Manual of Style
- Task Center – need some ideas of what kind of things need doing? Go here.
Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Username & COI
[edit]Usernames cannot imply shared or corporate use. A change should be requested via WP:UNC or it is possible the account may be blocked from editing. Also, please do not overlook the 'conflict of interest' issue. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 18:56, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
- And of even more importance, if you are representing a client, then the mandatory paid editing disclosure policy applies to you. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 19:01, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
September 2021
[edit]You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.
Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".
If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.
Thank you. — JJMC89 (T·C) 15:56, 5 September 2021 (UTC)I have requested a change in username so that my sandbox will stay intact! I'm an individual and don't have media ties - it was just an old handle I used for everything. Hoping the change will happen soon so that I can properly edit my 1st submission. Thanks!Coralgablesmedia (talk) 14:19, 6 September 2021 (UTC)

- Just to leave another note - The writing is solid, it's just the referencing. Hopefully one more go-around will be enough! I'm also going to clean up the referencing slightly (you can reuse citations so that the bottom doesn't get cluttered). ThadeusOfNazerethTalk to Me! 18:32, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
