DYK for Muhammad al-Riquti

On 23 April 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Muhammad al-Riquti, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Muhammad al-Riquti taught Muslims, Christians, and Jews at his school under the patronage of the future Alfonso X of Castile? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Muhammad al-Riquti. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Muhammad al-Riquti), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

GA for B12

Looking forward to working with you on the review process. David notMD (talk) 09:27, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

I believe I have addressed the great majority of your comments, leaving out #26 an #27 (I number them), which will be taken care of by a complete revision and referencing of the Enzyme function subsection. I expect to have that completed tomorrow. Your choice to continue with the GA review process now, or wait until I am done, tomorrow. David notMD (talk) 00:13, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

Note - have added Diagnosis and Gastric bypass surgery sections. David notMD (talk) 07:20, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

I believe I have addressed all of the initial and follow-up requests for the GA review. David notMD (talk) 10:35, 23 April 2020 (UTC)

And thank you for bringing a new eye to the article. From past experience, when I tackle a GA, I pay the most attention to the content I am comfortable with (nutrition, dietary recommendations, health claims, history), so I find time and again that the GA review forces me to address the parts of the article I did not examine in detail before submitting. David notMD (talk) 12:41, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
@David notMD: and thank you so much for working on the article :) I'm always happy seeing science articles (especially on vital/basic subjects) making it to GAR. I feel kind of bad that my review ended up creating a lot of work for you, but I hope it's for the better. Any plan to take it further beyond GA? HaEr48 (talk) 12:58, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
Next up probably my fourth vitamin to GAR (Niacin). I've yet to attempt a FA. I might try that for Vitamin C, as it gets ~4,000 views a day. (And even more recently because of speculation it might help against COVID-19. There are actually a few clinical trials of intravenous vitamin C ongoing; none for oral, which cannot achieve as high serum concentration.) After niacin, probably tackle one or more of the fat-soluble vitamins. Ancient history, but my PhD thesis was on effects of vitamin A depletion and repletion on immune system. Banu Ashqilula

Hello HaEr48, first of all, Thank you for your contributions to the project! I’d like to ask a question. Is there anything known about the origins of this family (Banu Ashqilula)? Regards -TheseusHeLl (talk) 22:22, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

@TheseusHeLl: I haven't looked into it, though I've seen members of the family carrying the nisba "Al-Tujibi". Does that suggest descent from Banu Tujib? I don't know. HaEr48 (talk) 22:06, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
I doubt that we can conclude their origins from the nisba. They could be their mawlas (clients). -TheseusHeLl (talk) 22:31, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
Agreed. HaEr48 (talk) 22:38, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
