[edit]If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Government Office for Science, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. Christopher Kraus (talk) 19:54, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Government Office for Science Article
[edit]Hi, My main reason for the COI tag is because from your username it sounded like you were an employee or something. If you are, It would probably be against Wikipedia's COI rules to be a major contributor to your own article.--Christopher Kraus (talk) 21:44, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
MfD nomination of User:Government office for Science

This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia policies. In addition, the use of a username like yours violates our username policy.
You may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.
Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Usernames that have already been taken are listed here.--Orange Mike | Talk 01:10, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
{{unblock|this account was not created to promote a company or group, as suggested in the deletion discussion my user page is a draft of the Government Office for Science entry.I appologise if using it this way has broken Wikipedia guidelines and am perfectly prepared to delete it. I identified that there was out of date information on Wikipedia and attempted to update it.No promotion was intended, only statement of fact. When the issue of neutrality was raised, I asked more experienced wikipedia editors for advice. I am a new Wikipedia user and would appreciate the chance to set right my mistakes. I also appologise if my username violates wikipedia policies. If my account is unblocked I would like my new username to be munch922 please.}}
and then
[edit]please read our Business FAQ (which also applies to non-profit & government organisations), nd sums up our policies about editing with COI. DGG (talk) 22:21, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
