Johnpaul Williams moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Johnpaul Williams, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Johnpaul Williams. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! Hello Gojuryu. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Gojuryu. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose ā e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Gojuryu|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken ā you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits ā please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. PRAXIDICAEš 16:24, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Praxidicae I am not being directly nor indirectly compensated for edits in any way. I think I have a general understanding of the strict policy guidelines.
- I intended to create four additional pages for other notable karate figures this weekend as well however, I'll hold off on those for the time being, to make sure I'm getting this process correct. Gojuryu (talk) 18:01, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- So what is your connection to Williams? PRAXIDICAEš 18:02, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Praxidicae He and I met in Japan last month. He teaches up in Northern California. My club is in Southern California. I'm only a junior member but I'm ambitious. We are Eidokan Japan Karatedo Federation Gojukai. He is a senior of Seiwakai Japan Karatedo Federation Gojukai. Different schools (clubs) but under the same umbrella organization with the ministry of education in Japan (MEXT). Gojuryu (talk) 19:26, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

The article Johnpaul Williams has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No evidence found of any notability.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 10:07, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

Johnpaul Williams moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Johnpaul Williams. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it has no sources. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Jamiebuba (talk) 23:56, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
Save to draft
[edit]In an edit summary you wrote Not ready for publication. Cannot see (no not see) "save as draft" as an option to save.
Publishing the draft is saving it. When you are ready for the draft to be reviewed to go live in articlespace, add {{subst:submit}}
to the top of the draft. Or, you can put {{draft}}
on it now to give you an easy "push here" button. - UtherSRG (talk) 00:56, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Lenny Marks. I noticed that you recently removed content from GÅjÅ«-ryÅ«Ā without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Some of the information you removed was referenced to sources. When removing referenced content, please explain why the source is inaccurate. It seems that part of the edit had to do with political positions, if you would like you can review Wikipedia's policy on Point of view. Lenny Marks (talk) 23:03, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
