you reverted me
[edit]but you didn't read it first! I want a competent person who knows what they're doing to move Nicolas Saunderson to Nicholas Saunderson where it belongs. Read my edit on Nicolas Saunderson which you reverted! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 131.111.233.218 (talk • contribs).
- You hardly went the correct way about it - you wrote "Shit. Bollocks. Swearing. This is vandalism, I'm getting your attention. Will someone who knows how to, please revert this rubbish I'm writing, but also change Nicolas to Nicholas, and put him back on the right web page." - vandalism as admitted by yourself. Write your request on the article talk page and ideally reference your claim. - Glen TC (Stollery) 22:52, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
re: re:
[edit]Ok, I've put it on the talk page of Nicolas Saunderson. Bet nothing gets done. What should I do, just copy and paste to the new location if I want to do it myself?

Revert on digital Photography
[edit]Hey there!
Sorry, I thought I was providing a link to a valuable tool for the community of people who are looking for information on Digital Photography. Didn't realise this was so offensive! <Vbinfo 10:19, 8 May 2006 (UTC) PS what has this to do with Tim Shadbolt???? (post below nothing to do with me)
Tim Shadbold edit wasn't vandalism, this really happened 203.211.68.137 09:43, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- No doubt - however it was your reference to him as an idiot that was the vandalism. If you'd like to add that please read WP:NPOV first - Glen TC (Stollery) 09:47, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
The links you removed are actually not commercial in nature...
[edit]Glen, you have jumped the gun here, the links are not commercial, they were put there to be helpful. Aren't you being just a little judgemental? Vbinfo 10:17, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Regarding the post you made on your talk page re: my having "small country syndrome": Interesting comment considering you too are from New Zealand... Christchurch is it? I'm afraid vbinfo.net is a commercial link, after all, it does have a paid insertion option. I suggest you read Wikipedia:Spam#External_link_spamming and Wikipedia:External_links#What_should_not_be_linked_to. Enjoy your time here. Oh, and PS; The post above re Tim Shadbolt was made by User:203.211.68.137 regarding my reverting his post calling Mr. Shadbolt an idiot - it had nothing to do with you. - Glen TC (Stollery) 11:12, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
Links to SUPERAntiSpyware
[edit]Hello,
You have removed the link to SUPERAntiSpyware. The software should be allowed to be listed along side Ad-Aware (COMMERCIAL Product) and SpyBot. SUPERAntiSpyware is a FREE product just as SpyBot and Adaware. Please explain why those are allowed but SUPERAntiSpyware is not. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.32.127.46 (talk • contribs).

Revert on Livermore High School
[edit]Not quite sure why re-adding some original information was considered vandalism. I was simply restoring what was originally in the article that had been deleted by vandals (judging from the edit history).
The original information about our rivalry should never have been deleted, because it never mentioned anything about one school being better than the other, or one school "sucks" more than the other. Much information was removed that describes school events also. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kdepa (talk • contribs) 12:05, 10 May 2006.
Dear Stollery,
Do you dispute the facts that I have posted on this article? How would you suggest they be presented?
I'm not sure what your point is; it is not obscene to be a homosexual.
People should know why Paul Cain dropped off the radar, and why Mike Bickle, Rick Joyner and Jack Greene publically rebuked him.
-Bill —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 134.126.93.180 (talk • contribs) May 10, 2006.
- Thanks for contacting me to discuss this. It's certainly preferable over an edit war so I appreciate it. I reverted your addition because you can't just randomly brand someone (anyone, let alone a Christian Minister) as "an alcoholic and a practicing homosexual" without proper references. The "reference" you added was to a webpage that no longer exists, and even if it did it is certainly not a valid source (being someone's opinion). If these facts are indeed true then you must be able to find a valid reliable source for the claims. If not, then they are POV and libellous. Hope this makes sense, and please buzz me if I can assist. Thanks again, - Glen TC (Stollery) 18:14, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Paul Cain
[edit]Glen,
Sorry about the wayback machine line. The link had changed; It should have been
http://www.morningstarministries.org/feature/sb/2004/SB06_04.html
Here's what Paul Cain himself had to say about the situation in March 2005
A Letter of Confession
I must apologize to the body of Christ for my recent conduct. I want to correct the denials that I made earlier in reference to charges brought against me. I acknowledge the following:
- 1. I have struggled in two particular areas, homosexuality and alcoholism, for an extended period of time.
- 2. I apologize for denying these matters of truth, rather than readily admitting them. I especially apologize to Rick Joyner, Jack Deere, and Mike Bickle for my misunderstanding of their attempt to discipline me according to Matthew 18. I have come to appreciate their loving intent for me in this process.
- 3. I am ashamed of what I have done to hurt those close to me and the pain I have caused those who have believed in my ministry. Particularly, if I have hurt anyone by my actions of emotional or sexual misconduct, I am very sorry. I sincerely ask for your forgiveness.
I have submitted to a team of leaders in the body of Christ who are supervising every aspect of my restoration. This team is headed by Larry J. Alberts (Fathers and Families Together, Minneapolis, MN) and Dr. Daniel J. Kim (Destiny Training International, El Monte, CA). Larry has considerable experience in restoration ministry and has been requested by leaders such as John Wimber, Rick Joyner, and Francis Frangipane to help restore highly significant ministers in the body of Christ. Daniel directs a training center which emphasizes biblical spirituality and prophetic reformation. I have submitted to Larry and Daniel to develop an appropriate program, involving professional treatments, so that I may walk in moral purity, spiritual and physical health, and wholeness of life.
With hope in Christ,
Paul Cain
I cannot find a current link on Cain's website, however this have been archived by the wayback machine from Cain's official website. I saw the original when it was posted.
http://web.archive.org/web/20050305180223/http://paulcain.org/news.html
It appears now that Cain has now decided to not continue with the restoration process with Larry Alberts. The reference for that is the Article posted by J. Lee Grady, the editor of Charisma magazine.
http://forums.strang.com/viewtopic.php?t=7820
Please note that Charisma magazine is a Charismatic publication, one that would normally ally itself with ministers such as Cain. Bickle, Geene and Joyer were also Ministers who worked with Cian. Cain spent most of his time with Bickle's church in Kansas City, Mo., when not travelling.
It is not disputed that Cain's ministry came to a screeching halt with the revelation that he was an alcolholic and a practicing homosexual. Nor is it disputed that he is not currently ministering, nor is he a pastoring a church (hence the change to "was" a pastor).
-Bill
- Hi Bill, hey thanks for sourcing that for me (and for understanding). Office of Special Affairs discussion on reliable sources
[edit]Why is Tory's website and articles a "perfectly acceptable source" ?? Please Talk:Office of Special Affairs --Nikitchenko 10:46, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
Tory is not "perfectly acceptable" as a source to compose Office of Special Affairs article. Please re-read WP:V and WP:RS. Her articles can only be used to compose Tory Christman article. If you disagree then go talk to the people in WP:RS talk page and make an entry in our mediation page. --Nikitchenko 09:40, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
This is copied from the edit summary of when Stollery reverts me today: "I have explained TWICE on the talk page; WP:RS states does not state "only in the article about the person" but writing about the person. We are writing about Tory here! Watch your 3RR". Glen, talk to me in this page, not the editorial summaries. We are not writing about Tory, we are writing about the Office of Special Affairs. I don't like the way you keep reverting my valid changes. I don't think a 3rr should be applied in here so I made a complaint into our mediation page and documenting this. Again, I do not appreciate what you are doing. I will return when a mediator has responded. --Nikitchenko 09:56, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Will YOU please refrain from undoing MY edits repeatedly!!! I am disputing the statement the organization hired private investigators, fabricated criminal charges and harassed their targets, including at their place of employment, as well as their family members. because the source is dubious. Stop removing my dispute. I should not be blocked just because you keep removing my dubious tag and I have to keep replacing it. If Im blocked I will have to bring this up to RfC against you. --Nikitchenko 10:25, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
You have already made 3 reverts and your revert is against Wikipedia policy! And you are supporting false information. You should be ashamed of yourself! --Nikitchenko 10:26, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Rape!
[edit]Hi, I think it is a mistake to remove Laius from the "rapists" list, he was not considered fictional by the Greeks and his act was a double act of rape, in that it was a kidnapping as well as a sexual violation of an unwilling boy. Haiduc 11:09, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
- The category is for "individuals who have been criminally convicted of rape, or those for whom there is little academic doubt among historians as to whether they committed the crime." and the article in question begins "In greek mythology" hence he isn't appropriate for the category. Looking at the category there are no other fictious characters (and by stating 'Greek mythology' it is implied he is fictious. However I am not the be-all-and-end-all here by any means, and if you want to revert it I won't change it :) - Glen TC (Stollery) 11:17, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
I have removed the speedy deletion tag as this is the most prominent branded jewellery of India. There are several less prominent brands which we may be carrying in Category:Brand name products stubs. The contents of above article requires suitable modification. In any case, Tanishq and their promoters Tata Group do not require wikipedia to promote themselves. They are more than a 100 years old company of India. Regards. --Bhadani 14:29, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Re: Your VandalProof Application
[edit]Dear Bornhj, Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.1 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that unfortunately you have too few mainspace edits. It is true that the 250 is a guide, however you have only 43 and as such we will need you to try again when a little more experienced. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. - Glen TC (Stollery) 15:04, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Reminder about speedy deletion
[edit]Just wanted to remind you that failing to meet WP:CORP is not a criterion for speedy deletion. Only having no assertion of notability whatsoever is (CSD A7). -- SCZenz 01:30, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- No problem at all, but one thing... I don't think, technically, that advertizing is a speedy criterion. (Please refer me to the appropriate place if this has changed.) I've been deleting most of what you've nominated as advertizements, but I'm a lot more comfortable phrasing them as articles that don't assert notability. -- SCZenz 01:45, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- If there is no assertion of notability, A7 certainly works for companies. But merely being an advertizement doesn't gaurentee that this is the case. For example, if we didn't have an article on Microsoft already, and someone submitted "Microsoft is a huge company that makes awesome software that everyone loves. You should buy some at their website right now." as an article, we'd want to stubify and edit for POV rather than delete. -- SCZenz 15:11, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Yes, that was my fault, I accidentally closed the approve users window before it was done saving. Then when I reloaded it again it must not have saved the whole thing, and left the users on the waiting to be approved list, even though I already added them to the list. Stollery
[edit]I added a link in the Credit Cards article to www.choosingandusing.com which was removed. This is not a commercial site, and has been produced only to help consumers in an impartial manner. Though I understand the use of .com, this is a site that I have taken over and many references already exist to www.choosingandusing.com.
Could this please be re-instated?
If you have any queries please do let me know. Kind regards.193.130.61.85 12:47, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- I have readded the link but reworded the description - I would suggest you also post a note on the talk page stating what you told me, and referring people to www.APACS.org.uk for more info. Hope this helps - Glen TC (Stollery) 12:49, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Credit Card Link
[edit]Stollery,
Though I do appreciate the fact that you have re-instated the choosingandusing link I think that the new one may cause confusion. APACS is the UK Payments association, and has its own web site. The link you have created suggests it will go to the APACS web site, and could cause confusion, especially for those using screen readers.
Am I able to change the link to 'An impartial guide to Choosing and Using a Credit Card created by APACS' or similar?193.130.61.85 13:05, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Vandal Proof
[edit]I can't seem to log in with my username. Your log-in request failed....I was logged into Wikipedia on internet explorer, my internet connection was good. Are you sure I was put into the list?--Jersey Devil 22:45, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi. I came across this image and wondered if you could mention that the original image is at Image:Vandalprooflock.jpg, as in this one you state that you created it. You don't have to, of course, I just like attention. :D Cheers, Master of Puppets That's hot. 21:44, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
- Lol, don't worry, no harm done. Cheers, Master of Puppets That's hot. 05:18, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Mediation Cabal case
[edit]The Mediation Cabal: Case change notification |
---|
Dear Glen/Archive2: Hello there. I'd like to let you know that in a Mediation Cabal mediation case that you are involved in, or have some connection with: I've made the following changes:
I would be most grateful if you would please have a look at the mediation case page linked to above, and participate in the current stage of the mediation process if you wish. Of course, participation is completely optional, and if you don't want to take part in this mediation, that's perfectly OK. :-) If you have any questions or concerns relating to this dispute, the mediation, or the Mediation Cabal in general, please do let me know. Thank you very much. Best regards, NicholasTurnbull | (talk) 02:24, 25 May 2006 (UTC) |

VandalProof Moderation
[edit]Aghhhh, this is the second time this has happened to me, there are now too many moderators!! Prodego talk 18:38, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
- Both times I actually approved the user by the way. Prodego talk 18:40, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
- I have no idea how this happened, note the lack of edit summary, as well as the double message. It was done in VandalProof however. Prodego talk 18:44, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Re: Vandalproof
[edit]The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires it's users to have made 250 edits to articles, which you have not...
- I thought I had over 200 edits, how many do I have now? Mostly Rainy 03:41, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi there, you've got over 270 total, but only 114 mainspace (article) edits which are the ones VP counts (click here to see). Does that make sense? - Glen TC (Stollery) 03:44, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- I thought you meant total edits. Why aren't other edits counted? Mostly Rainy 03:46, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Because edits on other spaces (like user talk pages etc) aren't usually involved in vandalism patrol and we just need to be sure that you have experience doing that. Have you been on RC Patrol before? - Glen TC (Stollery) 03:49, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I've done it. It's difficult to do with the "rollback" feature and I think software would help me better if I could use it. Mostly Rainy 03:53, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
I don't see too much use of the {{test}} templates to warn vandals do you use them? - Glen TC (Stollery) 03:57, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- I usually just revert the page. Mostly Rainy 04:31, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
See the truth is the warnings are more important that the actual reverting - Glen TC (Stollery)' 04:41, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- I've tried it and until I'm able use the software, will usually close AfDs and create disambig pages. BTW, have you been promoted? Mostly Rainy 05:46, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Oops. I didnt read the page, figuring it was the sandbox >_< just searched for sandbox. well somehow i found the right one now, sorry for ruining sandbox :( Idea: Get a good version of sandbox and protect it to avoid this error?.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.197.2.40 (talk • contribs).
- Is there an easy way to tell if edits are welcome? It seems most times i try to edit WP i just get reverted, often by a bot/admin. Is the idea to just add new info if you have it, or am i missing something? 72.197.2.40 06:13, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
peteg913
[edit]please do not add things back onto my talk page. peteg913 02:39, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- You are not to remove warnings from your talk page, it is considered vandalism - Glen TC (Stollery) 02:41, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
?
[edit]Did you not see I was just blocked for catching an admin for doing the same thing? Admins can't break the rules, either. So, I ask, why are you busting me on this? What's on my talk page is my business. I will do one of your god damn archives when I have time. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Peteg913 (talk • contribs).
Re: User:Peteg913
[edit]Already done. RadioKirk talk to me 03:09, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'm glad you wrote and noted the edit conflicts, but you neglected to change the text of your message to reflect that you had made the report. When I saw that, I was in the process of writing the blocking admin to ask for an unblock based on your reporting the user three minutes before telling me you were going to. I'm still considering suggesting an unblock based on the time frame. RadioKirk talk to me 03:16, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- On what basis is he deserving of an unblock? He was warned 5 times about talk page blanking (3 times via his page and also via a conversation on my talk page) and then threatened " I will do one of your god damn archives when I have time" on my page. It seems to me on the basis of either the block is more than valid - Glen TC (Stollery) 03:21, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- On what basis? Because you had asked me to intervene, and I was attempting to intervene; it's somewhat disconcerting to find that effort cut off, seemingly by the person who had made the request of me. Still, the user has not complained (as yet) about the block, and the time-out may not be a bad idea. In the future, however, may I ask your diligence in making sure your edits are as up-to-date as possible when you click "Save page"? Thanks. :) RadioKirk talk to me 03:25, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

As a note to that, I blocked him for three hours given his past and your convincing message on AIV; however, I'm not entirely confident in the block myself. I'd be willing to remove the block if asked. AmiDaniel (talk) 03:24, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- Fair enough, it seems my position is off base. Please accept my apologies both of you. - Glen TC (Stollery) 03:27, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Accepted. :) RadioKirk talk to me 03:30, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- Now unblocked. No need to apologize, but accepted from me as well. AmiDaniel (talk) 03:36, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
