A Question

How do I nominate a page for deletion that has already been nominated but that nomination failed? :) Johnthepcson 07:55, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey :D

Thanks for changing back my edit, that was a serious bad mistake lol. Sorry for the confusion. The IP address is the same as my user account, I just was logged out. Johnthepcson 19:31, 13 April 2008 (UTC) How do I continue the debate? I am unclear on what I must do. Thanks for your help. Hi, you may wish to revisit this page. TerriersFan (talk) 03:53, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Luke Ford

Fair enough, then I agree with taking out the real name, and even the birthdate. But if he's that unreliable, why do we even bother putting him in the external links section then? I wouldn't imagine that any other "gossip" website would be acceptable in the external link section... take for example Sydney Pollack, where "gossip" about his cancer is continuously (and, I believe, rightfully) removed. I think it should be removed if it's just a gossip site. Cheers, CP 17:45, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Out of curiosity, do you feel there's an issue with him being cited in the FA version of Jenna Jameson? Or is that information not controversial enough (I know this sounds like I'm being sarcastic, but it's a genuine inquiry)? Cheers, CP 00:58, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Norwayne High School

Thank you very much for catching my mistake about the number of students at Norwayne High School. --Eastmain (talk) 17:04, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Crookston High School

My edits regarding the insulting nickname used by area opponents was not vandalism; this is a bit of cultural information I felt was necessary. Just because I wrote the word "homosexuality" does not mean I wished to soil the article. G'day. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.129.158.20 (talk) 19:40, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply and the explanation - most appreciated. Now I understand the advantages of leaving it alone.
Can you tell me what the "cleanup lists" are. Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 14:20, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Academy of the Canyons

Hello, seeing as how I am a new user to wikipedia I have a couple of questions. First of which is, why was my article changed around? Second, if I take a picture of the campus that is somewhat similar to the first(its a new sign and there isnt a girl in front of it) will it still be taken down due to the fact that it looks too much like the copyrighted version? And lastly, does wikipedia have like wiki forums or something because one of my main reasons I created a wiki page for my school is to put a link on it to a forum or some sort of communication in which students and parents may speak freely about assignments, teachers, issues, and such (all of which will be curse free, and would frown on drama caused)? --Sylvester65 (talk) 06:51, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

My inclination is to remove the list of College acceptances. What do you think, please? TerriersFan (talk) 15:49, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Dr. Ed D. Salder School

Hi, I Have taken the suggestion to merge Sadler Elementary School to Gaston County Schools off. If you would like to discuss this i am more than happy to, The reason for me taking the Suggestion Banner off is because it is a school profile also not just a note of a commemorative school. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chad01 (talkcontribs) 13:34, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Merger proposal

I have proposed a merger of the articles for the three middle schools of the Palo Alto Unified School District into the main article for the district. Discussion is here. I'm notifying everyone who was involved in the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jane Lathrop Stanford Middle School. Thanks, Darkspots (talk) 14:40, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

People's Liberation Army (Yugoslavia)

I know I probably missed some procedure here, but I wonder when are we going to be rid of the "dual article" situation here. The matter is simple: the name of the resistance movement was "People's Liberation Army and Partisan Detachments of Yugoslavia", which is to say that "People's Liberation Army of Yugoslavia" was just the official name. I'm just trying to fix the article up and can't think of a way to get rid of that mistake. --DIREKTOR (TALK) 14:07, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Duh! thanks, I suppose I should have just done that. :P --DIREKTOR (TALK) 14:46, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Why did you undo all the edits?

Urban37 (talk) 13:09, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Bowvayne II

Hi - thanks for your note regarding the reversion on the page. However, there was NO copyright infringement, as Eciccocioppo is the owner of the copyright, and I am acting on his behalf. I note that according to Wikipedia's own rules regarding suspected copyright infringement, "you should at least bring up the issue on that page's discussion page." You did not do this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Urban37 (talkcontribs) 21:32, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for assistance on Ernest T Cragg's biographical article

Hello Gene

I am General Cragg's oldest son, and this biography was my Memorial Day project to his memory. I have a color photograph of him that I would like to use instead of the b/w one taken from his Air Force Biography. So far I have been defeated in uploading it. (It is the one on his web site ernest.cragg.info)

I am also interested in writing a biographical article on my uncle Major Edward "Porky" Cragg, a WWII triple ace. Is he likely to be notable enough for inclusion?

Thanks

ed

AfD nomination of Antonino Rizzuto

An article that you have been involved in editing, Antonino Rizzuto, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Antonino Rizzuto. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Mafia Expert (talk) 19:29, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Article does not meet criteria Wikipedia:BIO. Antonio Rizzuto is not a sufficiently notable person. His only feat is having been a family doctor of Totò Riina. Could be merged with the article about Riina, but not really necessary as it does not add anything substantial. - Mafia Expert (talk) 19:29, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for taking on Vivian Park, Utah and fixing it up! That article was such a mess that I figured it was better to prod it than try to make something of it, but you did a great job with it. Dori (TalkContribs) 03:26, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Jenny Hendrix

I understand. I've considered taking that part out completely, but firstcoastnews.com IS an official news site that includes both ABC and NBC news for the Jacksonville, Florida area. I don't want to damage any reputations, but I'm just including all the information I can gather about her. I'm soon to be starting an "Early Life" section as soon as she writes me back on my e-mail and lets me know what all she would like included in it.FreedomSleeps (talk) 16:42, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Alright, I reworded it as to not state implication as fact. Hope that clears the air a bit for you.FreedomSleeps (talk) 16:57, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Per WP:CSD A7, we do not to use notabiity as a reason for speedy except for the specific types of things listed there. Please use prod or afd. I changed the tag for Coover Hall. good job spotting it. DGG (talk) 20:59, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Anthony J Desiderio Sr., by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Anthony J Desiderio Sr. is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Anthony J Desiderio Sr., please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Orphaned articles

Does anyone ever go through your backlog of articles which have been tagged orphaned or have questionable notability? You have thousands of articles here. Some are very legitimate topics but others are brief 1 or 2 sentence articles, spam, have no independent third party sources or are just plain WP:DICT. I have even come across 1 or 2 articles with vandalism in them. They have been orphaned for so long that nobody watches (or cares about) them. I wonder if the list of questionable articles on Wikipedia hurts its reputation sometimes? I only have time for a few articles at the most. It looks like Wikipedia needs volunteers to reduce the backlog. PS: I'll do my best to add prod on my edit summary but I can't promise I'll remember to do it all the time since I'm only human. I do rewrite my Prod statements but its usually because I made a typo in them. I always give reasons in my Prod statements which most people can view. Cheers, Artene50 (talk) 03:20, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Wrong warning

hi lately while i was rollbacking Homestead, Oklahoma whch stated it was a dictatorship you reported my edit as vandilism can you please tell me why you thought i was vandilising? About Ajri language

Thank you sir for your suggession.Ajri language is being spoken in Pakistan .There is a pakistani linguist PARVASH SHAHEEN who wrote an article in a famous Pakistan journal monthly MAH-I-NAU Lahore about Ajri language .This journal is not available on internet .I read about Ajri in that journal.I searched in google about Ajri but there was nothing about this language. It is also wonderful that Enthnologue does not tell about this language.Kindly tell me how i submit any reference about Ajri.--Rasoolpuri (talk) 17:02, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Theodore Bean

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Theodore Bean, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? KenWalker | Talk 06:12, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
