Am I a bigot?
[edit]Wow, I must be a real editor if I just got called a religious bigot, huh? :) Mapetite526 19:03, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- You deleted (or got deleted) the article Poor Wedding Guests because you thought the article said that Jews are better than Christians, and viewed as an attack on Christians. You also got deleted the bio of an 8th century Sufi Saint Abu Hubairah Basri because you felt he was not notable. You have a history of problems against non Christians, don't you?Hassanfarooqi 11:57, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi there, I'm Wikikob and I have done a major re-write of the Prince2 article. I noticed that you had posted some comments about copyright but I did a bit of research, figured out what I could write and could not write. And I wrote it. That material has been up there for some time now and a user (I think it is ChrisG) has posted a message in which he says that the current article (eg the one I wrote) would likely be deleted. From what I gather, you are the person that deleted the text that ChrisG wrote previously. Please can you let me know what you think of the current article (I think it is Fair Use - obviously, otherwise I would not have posted it). Cheers, Wikikob 10:15, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
hi for the wiki page "Computer Camp", I noticed that you removed all of the computer camp firms under "External Links"
What if we change it to "Major Computer Camp Firms" like on Dell's wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dell )? They show the "Major Computer Companies"
Right now it's too much of an ad for one firm, & I'm not really certain that they are the first computer camp.
I think it's important to show examples of other computer camp firms. I prefer this view
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Computer_camp&oldid=66880796
without the comment added by MySummerCamps
can we have your approval to make the change? thanx ted jordan ted@funutation.com
redirects
[edit]Thanks for letting me know about the self-redirects. I notice that you also fixed a double-redirect that I accidentally created this afternoon. I do my redirect creation manually, so there are no settings to check.
I do try to double check that the redirects that I create are good. I use 'What links here', find the link that I've fixed, and follow it. That's how I found one of the issues that you noticed. Is there any way (besides being more consistent about those manual checks) to know if a redirect I create is bad?
I'm still new here, but how hard would it be to have the software check for double-redirects and self-redirects when they are constructed? BigrTex 23:13, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi. I was in favor of removing the bulk of the lyrics to this Sherman Brothers song (per my note on the talk page), but you also removed the single line of representative lyric the rest of the paragraph discussed, as well as the screen capture image of the Sherman Brothers that directly illustrated the birth of the song, its authors, and Disney's involvement. Isn't that overdoing it a bit? Regards.... Karen | Talk | contribs 01:31, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, looking again, I see I originally quoted an entire couplet - twice as much as I remembered doing. Just "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of every day" would probably be sufficient. But I was very careful originally not to quote a big chunk! The image, by the way, is the Shermans and Disney actually singing that song. Karen | Talk | contribs 01:37, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! I was hoping you'd say something like that. I went with the exceedingly short version. :) Karen | Talk | contribs 16:19, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Just FYI {{copyvio}} takes a few weeks up to a month to get something deleted but if something has been created in the last 48 hours you can tag it with {{db-copyvio}} and have it speedy deleted. Whispering 17:12, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Redirect help
[edit]The first line of a redirect needs to be #REDIRECT [[target]] or #redirect [[target]] , with double square brackets around the name of the page you want to redirect to. :-) FreplySpang 00:45, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, you are fast. I got an edit conflict after I figured it out. Thanks again!Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 00:48, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Talk Page Assistance
[edit]Hello,
I received your message about the links I added to the soap opera page. I can understand the problems with excessive external links, these are links to relevant content, not product sales pages.
I went to the talk page for the soap opera article, but I don't see how to add a new talk page subject. (Today is my first day as a Wikipedia user.) I saw how to edit the old ones, but it seems like there should be a different way to start a new topic.
Can you tell me how to start the new subject, please?
Thank you, Matthew
I'm wondering why you are proposing to delete my twango entry when as far as I can tell it is objective. I mirrored it based on all the other file sharing site articles on wikipedia. THanks.
Twango
[edit]Ok, here are independent reviews of the site. The first method is to type google into twango. You can see reviews from cnet (the bottom result), mashable, Ajaxian, Gigaom.
In addition, twango was present at digital life.

A seattle post intelligencer article:

Yahoo: http://uk.biz.yahoo.com/11102006/250/twango-launches-next-generation-media-sharing-service.html
Is this enough? If not, are you saying that regardless of whether or not the article is objective, it will get deleted?
Twango
[edit]and finally, on the twango blog, http://blog.twango.com/ scroll down below for links to some of the press twango has gotten.
Twango
[edit]I have added a section for independent articles. What is the process of deletion? After 5 days, can any admin choose to delete the page, is there a vote, or are you the sole arbiter? Thanks.
Thanks
[edit]I just wanted to say thank you for the welcome. I've been coming to wikipedia for years and finally decided I'd contribute my own editing skills. I look forward to being here for a long time and making this an even better site than it already is. Carpe diem 05:50, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
A mystery explained (no plain vandalism)
[edit]Thanks for deleting What To Do If You Wake Up And Find You've Turned Into A Giant Bug. I created this unusually named article. In case you were wondering (and lest you be consumed by idle curiosity), this was intended for another wiki, and I typed in the wrong Firefox quicksearch. — Itai (talk) 23:42, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Thank you
[edit]Thank you for telling me, but do you have the backup of the article. It took me a while to ask the band for the news because they were a new band.
Deleting Halo2Leagues.com
[edit]Ummm, you did happen to notice I only just created the page - I always save often and having you remove it after I do the first line and before I am about to add more content is just plain ignorant.
So, what is your problem with me making a page about it? We need to start letting the masses know about it!
Locked?
[edit]If it is possible you think you could lock the page so only I could edit it because people are editing it without permission/threatening to.
Nudge nudge....

Egging
[edit]Egging isn't a "fake" thing, it happens all the time, there should be an article on it. I'm going to be adding more content on how to remove the egg and such.

I own the site "deadwood" and "laststagetodedwood" at host nexuswebs.net.
http://deadwood.nexuswebs.net/langrishe.html.
The nexuswebs.net host has gone out of business as of Oct 2006. If you pull up a google cache text of this page, at the bottom you will find a link for Contact Webmaster. Follow the cached link and you will see that LastStageToDeadwood has now moved it's content to blogger.com.
The material I was trying to enter here from the old site and from our new site http://deadwoodjacklangrishe.blogspot.com/ will be the same as what was trying to be pushlished here at wikipedia. I am owner of this content.
If I try to republish again, it will be deleted again.
How do we get around this?

Question
[edit]Just out of curiousity, I was wondering if you knew what happened when all of a sudden, my userpage said I was blocked, then around 30 seconds later, I wasn't. On the history part of my userpage, it had your username on it and after that said something about reverted edits. I don't know if this makes sense but I was just wondering. Thanks! MusicGirl21 22:30, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for clearing that up. I appreciate it. MusicGirl21 22:40, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Yeah, the site was a bit slow. Once I'd reverted it, I'd noticed you'd already reverted it, but the reversion I used was literally the same anyway, so... HalfShadow 17:19, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Tchort
[edit]I don't understand why you deleted Tchort. I searched for it to find meanings and it was absent. So I started collecting meaning and pow! cryptic smack in the face.

Breeze Meeting Page
[edit]Hi, I was trying to set up a page on Breeze Meeting. I'm a Staff Development Coordinator and I was thinking of using Wikipedia to put up an information page for the people attending a training. This page would include information and refrence materials about the tool.
I'll attempt to set it up again, so please don't delete it. it's not a product promo, just info for my students. I'll also be adding user tips to this page.
Thanks
Wikipedia is not a directory
[edit]You wrote: "Wikipedia is not a directory - don't need a long list of links to parishes in the diocese." It wasn't a directory; it was a SHORT list of parishes in the diocese that have web pages and seemed appropriate under 'resources'. I noticed that hundreds of temples of the Mormon Church are listed in Wikipedia, which is where I got the idea to list them.
