SVG??
[edit]Is it possible to upload SVG files, and have wiki automatically convert it on the fly to png? If so how do I do this, when I tried to upload an SVG it said it was not a recommended format, I did not see a way to force it to go. I noticed in the uploaded files area you have a couple that are .svg.png. --Green-Dragon 06:36, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
RE: Sea Sock
[edit]Hi there, I am have a whitewater kayaking instructor (although I've had experience in most kayaking disciplines) and have never heard of such a thing as a sea sock. I will believe you that they exist, however I have corrected what you stated about spraydecks not keeping out water in the event of a capsize. That is their main purpose. Please read the spraydeck article. Just out of interest, could you please point me to a picture or website describing in detail exactly what a sea sock looks like/is? Cheers. Bennyboyz3000 11:46, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
RE: Rolling Sea Sock
[edit]- Cheers, thanks for your answer. Your comments intrigue me, about how rolling is an advanced move in a sea kayak. I have rolled lots in them, just using a standard c-to-c roll, and found that very easy. I'm just wondering exactly what specific technique you might use to roll a sea kayak. Also most spraydecks used in kayaking are neoprene and keep 99% of water out. I'm just looking to expand my kayaking knowledge! Thanks, Bennyboyz3000 00:45, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
The page you removed is established to cover an educational resource. Not my personal page. Yes, it's made by me, but it's not my Blog, or my MySpace, or anything similar. Thank you for your concern.

[edit]You think I'm a fucking vandal? How do you fuckin think that feels? That coffee did suck balls. I don't suppose you ever tried it. Is there no first amendment on Wikipedia? What kind of socialist bullshit is this? And fine, I'll sign this. I'm not a fucking coward. Tastybrothah 01:37, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Hey, you fucked up
[edit]You think yer perfect? You think yer better than me? Just look at this here clause on Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines
Don't edit others' comments: Refrain from editing others' comments without their permission (with the exception of prohibited material such as libel and personal details). It is not necessary to bring talk pages to publishing standards, so there is no need to correct typing errors, grammar, etc. It tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Never edit someone's words to change their meaning.
Who is really innocent? Should we all be called vandals because of our mistakes? Tastybrothah (and no I will not date it. That is my own fucking choice, thank you very much.)

Misplaced orphan tag
[edit]Your "orphan" tag on Policy stands of Joe Lieberman is, in effect, a violation of WP:SIZE. The subordinate page with detail was created to make the main page for Joe Lieberman readable (in fact the main page is still on the long side). Marking the page this way does not seem to serve the interest of users. Avt tor 21:51, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
I understand. I created the "policy stands" article first, then edited the main Joe Lieberman page to summarize the relevant section, so as to not lose any relevant material. This took a few minutes. Y'all move pretty fast. Avt tor 21:59, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Jcink.com article that you deleted
[edit]19:17, 9 January 2007 FreplySpang (Talk | contribs) deleted "Jcink.com" (advertisment for non-notable (and not-yet-released) website)
The website does exist, and if you would have read the talk section you would have seen that it was being made forthis weekend...

Is there any way to put it ack, or do i have to wait uuntil we have more content and then make it?

Response to your response to my note on your talk page about jcink.com
[edit]"When your website becomes popular, someone other than you will write a Wikipedia article about it. In short, you should not try to write a Wikipedia article about jcink.com at the present time, and you should probably leave it for others in the future."
It isn't my website, I am just very active on it and love it enough and I want to make it because it has helped me so much... nopt even the owner of the site brought it up, I said I would make one and I tried to do just that... he was happy when he saw that I had made it, then he was upset when he realized it was deleted, so I remade it and you deleted it again.

List of psychotherapists
[edit]Then make a list of psychotherapists, including Jonathan Berent, so that Wikipedia readers can learn about them and decide for themselves which ones are the best.

[edit]Thanks for rolling out the Wikipedia welcome mat. Wow, what a friendly site. I'll review all the links you gave me. For now I'm learning by copying (reproducing the template structure but not the wording of an existing entry that looks well-written). Cruelladevil 22:21, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
About Maldroid
[edit]Hi, not sure how to thread my own discussion (I'll learn that too) but I just wanted to let you know I looked at the band criteria. I'm pretty sure they would qualify and I'll make sure to justify this with links to sources, etc. They won the national Youtube video contest, they've been on Good Morning America, and they're gaining popularity -- not the same as Saturday Night Live of course but you have to start somewhere. It's just taking me longer to form this well in a page entry than to say it here. I'm hoping they get big and then I've written their first ever wikipedia article. Yay! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cruelladevil (talk • contribs) 22:27, 13 January 2007 (UTC).
Hold your horses
[edit]Please recreate David Mott. I was just trying to establish notability if possible. Also I placed a comment in that regard on the creaters discussion page. Even if this is a vanity page, he may be notable. Give such things a BIT of slack and do not delete without a warning and some time to rectify. Thanks MadMaxDog 10:47, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- Recreated myself. No problem with you putting a template on it that ensures deletion in some days or something. MadMaxDog 10:49, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
PlayOn
[edit]You have deleted my addition for PlayOn. After the former attempt made by a friend to define PlayOn which did have quite a few pricing notes, I have tried to define it in a way that would just tell the world about a new model to sell and license casual games. This is not an advertisement, the same as a similar definition of a "try before you buy" is not an advertisement. If the web links that appear there are not appropriate they should be removed, but this is a new way to commerce with content and games, and it is entitled for a definition. Please give your advice on how to tell about it without it seeming like an advertisement, I want the world to know about a business model (that is not necessarily proprietary to one company or another) Sombergo 20:50, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

deletion of Whedle article
[edit]Hi. The article I submitted titled "Wheedle" was deleted becuase it "appears to be a direct copy from http://indiscriminate.tripod.com/seattle/wheedle.htm." I am the owner of that page from which the text was taken, and I waive all rights to it. I have also put a note on the original web page noting that I have submitted a version of the text to Wikipedia and have made it avialable under the GFDL. So I am hoping that the article can now be undeleted. Thanks.

I have never written a wiki page before, and all you peeps keep deleting my page everytime I start one. You delete it cause you say it is too short, but how the hell is it suppose to get long IF YOU KEEP DELETING IT. Seriously, give a brother a chance before you delete it. Good lord.
like i said, i was trying to build it. the blabla was just to see how the formatting came out. That actually took me a while to get that far and you deleting it just cost me a lot of time. There was no need to be so rash. Tag it, write me a note, whatver, but dont just delete someones hard work without even contacting them. Why don't you try being a little more considerate before you get off on your powers in the future.

Just trying to make a joke there with the test2a. (I found it was funny that it's considered vandalism to remove content from Wikipedia while there is an entire section of Wikipedia dedicated to doing just that.) No harm intended, just checking in to make sure. Just H 15:17, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
AngelCxNT animations
[edit]I would like to start by questioning the suggestion of deletion. AngelCxNT is a budding animation company, and not some mere schoolboy folly. Also, this page has been requested (on more than one occasion, might I add) by several individuals, including that of Diddymonster themself.
Therefore, I find it somewhat baffling as to why removal has been suggested.
Sorry for the tone of complaint, but a lot of work has gone into the forming of this business And I'm sure all involved would find it a great disappointment if a recognised, well-respected site such as wikipedia refuses to acknowledge the work and effort that has gone into it.
Thank you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by AngelCxNT (talk • contribs) 22:05, 19 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit]I don't really see how this system works really.
It can be debated that it is "well-known". It's just your opinion really. You after all, do not represent what everyone thinks.
Do you see my reasoning?
It may be a well known item where I live, yet you may think otherwise because you live on the opposite side of the world.
I'm not trying to be nasty, but do you understand what I am trying to get across?Gareth.b.hall 10:03, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Civility Incident
[edit]Did you ever look into that time you banned Kinghy? Well, I looked into it, and you don't even have a proper reason. He was banned for "daring an admin to block him", and he didn't even DO that! Plus, the vandal, Lazer John got off scott free even though he vandalised numerous pages and it was obvious that is all his account was used for. Geez! Look into what you've done!
Hmm... I looked over this whole thing. This Kinghy chap was perhaps a mite uncivil, but a permaban DOES seem a bit over the top. Are you sure that you have no personal involvement in this? Adroit Nubian 19:23, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Hi, thanks. This is my first Wikipedia article and I'm just getting the hang of it. I read somewhere that people sometimes create articles in pieces... It won't be more than a few minutes, promise.
Is there a way people do this to test, get the links, etc? Can one build a page somewhere in an editor and then take it "live" all at once?

[edit]Philip Blancero article
[edit]Hey,
I'm new to Wikipedia. Super new. Philip Blancero is my uncle, and I just signed up to post something under his name for laughs. He was an extra in the movie Runaway (2005). I still want to make an article for him, but I'm not sure how I can do that, since everytime I try it either doesn't save correctly, or admins (such as yourself) delete it (for some probably just cause that I'm not aware of). How should I go about doing that? Should I go about doing that? Am I abusing the site by writing something about my uncle?
I'm sure you're busy, but if you could help me out, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.

Your civility warnings
[edit]I have been watching you and you have laid down the law too strictly. You are being far too harsh and seem biased towards certain parties. For example, you have warned Adroit Nubian for vandalism even though it was his page who was vandalised. Think before you warn, please.

[edit]FreplySpang:
Thanks for supplying info on neutral and corroborating source info. This is my first time posting to wikipedia. A search of the name does reveal wide use and major publication worldwide in periodicals and the traditional published book with a major house. Perhaps then it needs modified to include lists of the published print journal sources. A search of the USPTO also does reveal the trademark. I also thought one of the points of wiki was for material from various sources to be appended, edited, and modified. I suppose this makes me an old-timer.
If you (FreplySpang) continue to delete my work i will force you in to a Wikiwar! you have been warned.
