Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Sungai Balang may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • Ali was sent by his father, Orang Kaya Said, the first Muar District) headman (penghulu) appointed by Temenggong Ibrahim, to the Holy Land of Mecca upon the completion

I need your help

[edit]

Hello Finlay. Assuming you are an admin, is this where I can ask for your help? Worldedixor (talk) 23:12, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Finlay for your answer on Ref Desk about an old 17' Apple monitor

[edit]

but I'm actually not an Apple geek, I was just seduced by the beauty of that bulky device, looking like an iMac G3 (only bigger) , and quite new...I'll use it with the G4 it was intended for, no more unnatural parings for that big thing. T;y. Arapaima (talk) 16:48, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Important Notice: Your 2013 Arbitration Committee Election vote

[edit]

Greetings. Because you have already cast a vote for the 2013 Arbitration Committee Elections, I regret to inform you that due to a misconfiguration of the SecurePoll we've been forced to strike all votes and reset voting. This notice is to inform you that you will need to vote again if you want to be counted in the poll. The new poll is located at this link. You do not have to perform any additional actions other than voting again. If you have any questions, please direct them at the election commissioners. --For the Election Commissioners, v/r, TParis

Finlay, your recent contributions on the computer reference desk to help debug the JavaFX issue were superb. I was impressed by the proceduralism and the high quality of your response. I think you have helped the OP, and provided a very useful answer, and enlightened me about a useful debugging procedure, and generally gone out of your way to construct an excellent contribution. Thanks for setting the bar high on the reference desk! Nimur (talk) 03:41, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Gennadi Strekalov, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Telegraph (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A beer for you!

[edit]
Thanks mate, for recommending I try out SCP/SFTP. I'm kicking myself for not trying this out sooner. This is sooo much easier than samba and I admit I like having the security from potential snooping and tampering with my media library too. If I could buy you a real beer, I would. Thanks again! You're welcome. Incidentally, if you haven't heard of this: it's really easy, and incredibly powerful, to run rsync over ssh as described in this article and this one. This way you can do efficient incremental backups over the internet or publish stuff (I push updates to websites from a development machine to the one at the hosting company with this). -- Finlay McWalterTalk 11:50, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
