D🐶ggy54321 I was wondering if you could help me more. With my post here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:The_Real_Housewives_of_Beverly_Hills#Semi-protected_edit_request_on_15_January_2021 I have supplied additional references and keeping having issues with the same user. They are now saying I need to have video footage, which I feel is not a requirement of Wikipedia. Where should I go from here? Ev Thom 22:34, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- You are canvassing by pinging the editor that helped you fixed your AN3 report, to an article you vandalized. Also I asked you how notable were those guest appearances and you didn't answer. A blink and you miss camera footage lacks notability.TheHotwiki (talk) 16:51, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- I only asked for advice on where to go from here? You clearly have an issues, which is fine. For one of the appearances I have given you two references that described it as full scene, and that she interacted with multiple cast members. I'm not sure how that is considered a background/extra that would lack notability. I also supplied another reference that included a screen grab to show she was given a credited title by the production company. For me, I am struggling to see what else there is that needs to be proved so I asked for advice. In terms of responding to you, is there a deadline to get back to you on your question that I am not aware of? Ev Thom (talk) 18:14, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

Question for administrator
[edit]This request for help from administrators has been answered. If you need more help or have additional questions, please reapply the {{admin help}} template, or contact the responding user(s) directly on their own user talk page. |
Hi, I was wondering if an administrator could help me with the issues I am having on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I am new to the Wikipedia community. I previously reported a user for an AN3 violation. The result was a semi-protected lock on the page. Since I am new, I do not have access to put back the info the user kept reverting. I submitted a request on the talk section of the page, and the same user I reported keeps combating my request. I've seen in the archives that other people have had the same issue with this user. I am only trying to make two changes to the cast timeline. I have provided multiple sources that two cast members appeared as guest before joining. This user has requested that I provide video footage, and that I should defend that this guest appearances qualifies to be documented. This seems very subjective to me, and I can't find anywhere that this is a requirement. I believe you might characterize this as a WP:OWN problem? I came to my talk page to ask another editor for advice on where to go from here, and the user commented on that post as well, saying I was canvassing. I'm not trying to go against any rule so I thought it would be best to contact an administrator.Ev Thom (talk) 15:17, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- Administrators do not settle content disputes, but I can say that almost all information in a Wikipedia article needs to be sourced to an independent reliable source. I do not often edit articles about television shows, but I assume the same goes for things like guest appearances. We at Wikipedia cannot determine if something is a "guest appearance", as that would be original research. We need a source that uses that term. If you have such sources, please offer them. If you do and discussion fails to resolve the dispute, there are dispute resolution channels open to you. 331dot (talk) 20:03, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
