Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Steel Wire Armoured (SWA) Cable do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. SpinningSpark 21:22, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring

[edit]

Please don't edit war with other editors over the inclusion of links the Eland Cables website. This is against policy. Discuss on the article talk pages please and do not reinsert without consensus, see also WP:BRD. SpinningSpark 21:11, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Using Wikipedia for advertising or promotion

[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Pontificalibus (talk) 22:33, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Threatening a block is a bit unnecessarily harsh. Elearnor1975 has not inserted any more links to Eland Cables since my earlier communication as far as I can tell. It is still possible we are dealing with a naive newbie rather than a hardened marketing department spammer. Eleanor, I might be more inclined to help you write an article if you were to show that links to Eland Cables are not central to your presence on Wikipedia, ditch them, and indicate that you are willing to work at writing an article from independent sources.
