Project Eden
[edit]Hi EchoBlu, in the article on Project Eden you added a link to The Lost Vikings. Can I ask how the two are related? Is it because of similarities in gameplay (solving puzzles by switching between characters with individual abilites)? If so, it would be useful to state in this WP article, so the reader can judge why they might want to read the other article. What do you think? Thanks and best wishes Guffydrawers (talk) 11:57, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
- I am not sure that I understand you. Usually there are no additional descriptions in 'See also' section. When someone is interested in article on Wikipedia, he usually wants to continue reading, and in this case, learn more about genre or similar games. Especially if genre is not that big. - The Wikipedia Manual of Style says at MOS:SEEALSO
"articles linked should be related to the topic of the article. Editors should provide a brief annotation when a link's relevance is not immediately apparent, when the meaning of the term may not be generally known, or when the term is ambiguous." and includes examples. In this case it's not obvious to all readers why The Lost Vikings is being linked - there is no mention of it in the article. It looks like someone else has now removed the link, though. Reliable sources
[edit]Please don't cite the IMDb or other user-generated content on Wikipedia. These are not reliable sources and should never be used in a biography of a living person. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 05:22, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
- @NinjaRobotPirate: Sorry, I didn't know for IMDb. I will remove IMDb sources. EchoBlu (talk) 05:44, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
- If you're looking for something better to cite, BehindTheVoiceActors.com is probably OK, and it has a rather comprehensive database. Besides that, there are lists of sources that are generally considered reliable at WikiProject Film and WikiProject Video games. There's also this essay page, which links discussions about common sources. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 05:50, 20 December 2019 (UTC)

[edit]MOBA page grammar
[edit]Hey EchoBlu! I cleaned up some (but very far from all!) of the MOBA wiki page. I noticed your discussions on it with another user about the grammar and writing, and I think it still has some work to do before undergoing any evaluations. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, though! MochrieTV (talk) 07:35, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- @MochrieTV: Thank you for your work! I have worked on that article for a very long time. I did a lot of research, I tried to organize it in the best way possible, I connected reliable sources to the every part of the article, every sentence in the article is there for some reason (article was written very carefuly for a very long time). But at the end I was not happy, because I was aware that I will never be able to bring writting style to the same level. And you are doing it amazingly well. Both MOBA and Heroes of the Storm. So, thank you again. People will recognize quality of the article when you finish it. EchoBlu (talk) 15:25, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Satellite phone into Telephone. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also.
