- AWB TALK PAGE TECHNIQUE
- Step 1: Using AWB, I set "Source" to "Category" (usually "Category (recursive)" for ease of access), and "Links on" to whatever category of stubs I'm looking for. (In this instance, it was "Bee stubs".)
- Step 2: Under "List" on "AWB", I select "Convert to talkpages".
- Step 3: "Filter". Weeds out duplicates, in case any show up.
- Step 4: Under "List" I choose "Save list", which saves the list as a document on your computer.
- Step 5: I create (or use, usually) a page in my sandbox, using the saved list. (If it's very long you may have to break it up into two or three pages.)
- Step 6: Using AWB, I set "Source" to "Links on page (redlinks)" and "Links on" to whatever the name of the sandbox page is.
- Step 7: Once the redlinked articles have come up, on the "More" tab in AWB, I click on "Enabled" under "Append/Prepend text" and fill the box with whatever template stuff I want. I choose either "Amend" or "Prepend" (the latter works better, I think - less extraneous whitespace.)
- Step 8: On the "Skip" tab, I make sure that the button at the bottom, reading "Exists" under the header "Page", is clicked. This will skip all existing talkpages. (Shouldn't be any, but just in case.)
- Step 9: I create an edit summary and begin editing as I normally would.
