License tagging for Image:Sierra san francisco3.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Sierra san francisco3.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:10, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Copyright problems with File:CANNONS CAMPECHE.JPG
[edit]Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:CANNONS CAMPECHE.JPG, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.flickr.com/photos/baabuzz/64211031/. As a copyright violation, File:CANNONS CAMPECHE.JPG appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:CANNONS CAMPECHE.JPG has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at File talk:CANNONS CAMPECHE.JPG and send an email with the message to permissions-enwikimedia.org. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) and CC-BY-SA, under CC-BY-SA, or released into the public domain leave a note at File talk:CANNONS CAMPECHE.JPG with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on File talk:CANNONS CAMPECHE.JPG.
However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you.
- I would say the opposite to Odiseo79: You copied this iamges from Flickr. Maybe they where licensed as you said at the time of your upload here, but you failed to follow the basics of the license: You must attribute the author! Maybe you can correct this, if not your uplaods should be deleted because of license violation and unclear source. --Martin H. (talk) 12:57, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
Copyright violations
[edit]- File:INSTITUTO CAMPECHANO.jpg is taken from http://www.flickr.com/photos/cadeva/75498264/, it is not licensed under a free license, also the source is not mentioned and the author is not attributed. Furthermore the licensing with with "self" implies own work which is incorrect. --Martin H. (talk) 13:02, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- Same problem with File:BALUARTE.jpg, wrong claim of authorship, missing attribution and original source http://www.flickr.com/photos/74799909@N00/97948625/ not mentioned.
- File:Campeche.jpg (on Commons) was taken from http://www.flickr.com/photos/eltb/2876354417/, same way of copyright violation
- File:TEPOZTLAN FRESCO CONVENTO.jpg from http://www.flickr.com/photos/gmol/247809186/ and so File:TEPOZTLAN CONVENTOWINDOW.jpg from the same author.
And so it continues. I deleted all your uploads from Wikimedia Commons (see the log) and nominate all your uploads on Wikipedia for speedy deletion as they are all taken from Flickr and all licensed there "All rights reserved". From the number of uploads that are NOT licensed freely on Flickr I suggest, that they never where licensed freely on Flickr and that your claims/links of a free cc license are wrong. --Martin H. (talk) 13:37, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
For your information: This entry is related to your uploads. --Martin H. (talk) 21:19, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
