2013 Singapore Cup knockout phase

[edit]

All those details could easily be added to the main article. There is no need for a duplicate article to exist, and whether anyone has spotted it earlier is never a criteria to retain the article. You should consider posting your input at the AfD page instead. LRD NO (talk) 14:05, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The World Cup is a major tournament with a high number of matches. The previous Singapore Cup article format was fine as it was. You could just add on to the main article instead of duplicating the information on a redundant article. Please comment on the AfD page as of now where consensus would be reached. Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to 2014 S.League, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. LRD NO (talk) 05:56, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please familiarise yourself with Help:Minor edit. Addition and deletion of, and changes to content including statistics should not be marked as a minor edit. When in doubt, it is best not to mark it as minor edits. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited S.League, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Great Eastern (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

When creating a new article, please follow the previous seasons' Manual of Style format. I've noticed that in articles you have created, such as this and the 2014 Singapore Cup, codes are often copied wholesale from other articles. While it's fine to do so, please change the relevant details before you put the article in mainspace (you may want to use your sandbox for this purpose). There are already some very obvious errors in the League Cup article for example.

There is no rush. Make sure you are pleased with your draft before submitting it to mainspace. Cheers. LRD NO (talk) 15:15, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Local football

[edit]

Hi HealthSX,

From what I gather, you are a part-time journalist covering local football, including the S.League and LionsXII? I was wondering what kind of access you have at matches or related events, so that we could possibly use those opportunities to gather resources such as players photos (under 'own work' licensing).

The articles on S.League clubs need improving too, and it's not easy to find someone with good access to those clubs to contribute to those articles. You are welcome to add to the articles if there are information that you could source to improve on them.

Last but not least, user:Hildanknight has been very active contributing to and collaborating with other users over at SGpedians' notice board. You may want to drop by for a look and hopefully be able to contribute towards the 2014 Singapore GA drive.

Cheers. LRD NO (talk) 05:53, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Who do you cover interviews for? Voxsports or Redsport? LRD NO (talk) 14:02, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Since I was mentioned, I would like to note that I tried rewriting Tampines Rovers (as I live around the Tampines area). However, I had difficulty finding reliably referenced information, especially about their supporters, and abandoned the article when the club moved to Clementi. As a journalist, you may be able to help me find more reliably referenced information, so I can resume work on the article when they return to Tampines. --Hildanknight (talk) 14:35, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

2014 Singapore League Cup‎

[edit]
  • Well-known countries should not be linked as per wikipedia policies and WP:FOOTY consensus since it does not increase knowledge of the article in any way. Someone clicking on the Singapore League Cup is unlikely to gain further relevant information by looking at the country of Singapore. For other instances, see footballer articles where the country of birth is not linked e.g Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo or competitions e.g. La Liga.
  • A table is absolutely irrelevant to the format section, and such details should not be by default hidden. Use wikitables for things like league tables, statistics instead.
  • Goalkeeper stats and tournament team rankings were removed according to WP:OR (no original research) and WP:NOTSTATS (indiscriminate information) policies. LRD NO (talk) 06:45, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification

[edit]

Please note:

  • Only domestic league matches and goals should be included in the player infobox. The footnote at the bottom of the infobox clearly indicates so.
  • Wikipedia avoids advertising where possible. In edits such as this, it should be entered as Singapore League Cup instead of Starhub League Cup.
  • Check if a footballer or club fulfills notability as per WP:FOOTYN and WP:GNG guidelines before creating their pages.
  • Wikipedia does not tolerate plagiarism, as evidenced by this. As a part-time journalist, you should be more aware of this than the average person. LRD NO (talk) 08:32, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:RHBSGCup.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:RHBSGCup.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
