ref error

[7] 194th reference is giving an error. Would you know what's causing it? Enigmamsg 05:35, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

I don't quite know to explain it, but I fixed it. Let me know if you still need me to clarify--I can try. Davejohnsan (talk) 18:03, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
I don't really understand what was happening there, even after viewing the edit, but glad that it's fixed now. thanks, Enigmamsg 07:31, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
When you repeat a citation in an area that transcludes to another page, an error will show up on that page if the citation of the ref is in a section that doesn't transclude. To prevent it, you need to move the citation within the transclusion area. (I.E. I had use to move the information from <ref name="kevin" /> to the Episode section so that it would also show up on the List of ... page). I hope this makes sense. Davejohnsan (talk) 16:38, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
ok, I got it. It had nothing to reference in the transcluded part, so it gave an error. thanks, Enigmamsg 16:59, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

Two and a Half Men referencing

Hello.

I have never been great at the full referencing. I use the bare URLs as proof from where the information came from, but I can barely cite them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Therealdavo2 (talkcontribs) 20:03, 19 February 2013

It's really not that difficult. In fact, here's the template that you can copy and paste for future use.
<ref>{{Cite web|last= |first= |date= |url= |title= |work=[[TV by the Numbers]]|publisher=[[Zap2it]]|accessdate= }}</ref>
The only quirky thing about TV by the Numbers is that you can't copy and paste the article's title without including the categories listed right beneath it. I always have to delete that manually every time.
I don't care whether you include the ref name -- I don't mind fixing that myself -- but having to fix the citations every time you add them is starting to become tiresome. If you don't want to copy and paste my template, then at least use the fill-in field in editing toolbox. (Click Cite, and hit Cite Web from the Template drop down menu). Please let me know if you have any questions. Davejohnsan (talk) 06:08, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Bare references

While I abhor the laziness of editors who refuse to fully format citations, I'm not sure the addition of a bare reference is a justifiable reason for deletion of the reference.[8] Unfortunately. --AussieLegend () 07:20, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

I was going to fix it afterwards myself but for some reason TV by the Numbers triggered my web browser's malware alert. Otherwise, you are completely correct. Davejohnsan (talk) 14:19, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

Homicide: Life on the Street

I understand that we're in disagreement over the order the episodes for the first three seasons of Homicide should be placed. As a fan of the series, I assume, you probably know that those first three seasons particularly revolve around arc-based structures, therefore putting them in air date order is quite baffling. In addition, the episodes are placed in production order on the official DVDs. I point you to Batman: The Animated Series for an example of when a series is placed in production order based on the order of the episodes on the DVDs. I said all of this on the talk pages for each individual season, but Wikipedia typically has air dates as part of an episode description, I think that's all the acknowledgement we need to give to the fact that the series aired out of production order, and particularly significant examples are mentioned as part of the short episode synopsis. Zero no Kamen (talk) 01:10, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

I'm sorry, if you don't mind, I'd rather take the time to write you back tomorrow. I'm in the middle of making an extremely difficult decision and I just am not in the best frame of mind right now. Thank you for your understanding. Davejohnsan (talk) 03:02, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

There is obvious proof that Meg Griffin is a goody-two-shoes. She never stands up to her family or other antagonists and she doesn't act like the other teenagers or family members. She never rebels at school or against the family and in "A Fish Out of Water", she wasn't even trying to act like the other teenagers on Spring Break. So if I need more evidence to prove that Meg is a goody-two-shoes, don't hesitate to ask.

For the record, I haven't done anything you've said I did: I moved your comment from my talk page to yours so that we could have this discussion in one place; and if you seriously want to take being called anal retentive as an insult, then quite frankly, that is not my problem (In all fairness, I do realize it's not the most kind way of describing you, though). However, I'm more interested in resolving our disagreement on the NCIS page. Are you going to make any effort to resolve that, or are you going to keep aggravating me with your confrontational attitude? SVU - Season 15

I had it set up earlier but for some reason, a link to Season 15 of Law & Order: SVU isn't working. I can't even create a new page, it just goes in circles now.

Maybe you can help me out? Tell me what I'm doing wrong, so I can have the Season 15 section back? Thanks. BBB76 (talk) 06:45, 27 April 2013 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Hi BBB76,
The article in question Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (Season 15) has been redirected to List of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episodes#Season 15 (2013/14) because it's far too premature to create an article for the shows 15th season - when vital information, such as cast contract renewals, producers, guest stars, episodes, etc., have not been cited as of yet. The 14th season is nearly complete; and by that stage, all of the important information will come flying through, and the 15th season article will be restored. In the mean time, please add content to this section, rather than the article. Thank you, —MelbourneStartalk 07:13, 27 April 2013 (UTC)

It doesn't explain why the link doesn't work anymore. I'm confused on that part. BBB76 (talk) 15:50, 27 April 2013 (UTC)

You Reverted My Edit By Accident

Hello. You have accidently reverted my edit. I replaced the is with was because Zoey 101 is no longer aired and no new episodes are being aired. So, I'm gonna revert your changes. I hope this is okay. Kamran Mackey (talk) 02:24, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

No, it was not on accident. Even though no new episodes are being aired, the series still exists; therefore, changing the word "is" to "was" is incorrect. See WP:TENSE. Davejohnsan (talk) 02:36, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

I'd rather not caught in the middle of this. Before this change was made, a vocal group of users insisted that Wikipedia needed to the list the extra season; now we have people saying it should be removed. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground here. Davejohnsan (talk) 18:29, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Roads to Vegas

The official title is copyrighted as "Roads to Vegas" and the official trailer cites it as that too. Source: 1 and 2. Of course, it does appear there is some conflict, but since the episode is copyrighted as "Roads to Vegas" that is generally how it should be referred too, in my opinion. Beerest355 Talk 15:53, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

Does any other side besides that one list the episode as "Roads to Vegas?" Davejohnsan (talk) 15:59, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Well, the episode is called "Roads to Vegas." Heh Beerest355 Talk 01:02, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Based on what evidence? Futon Critic and FoxFlash (which both publish press releases from the TV networks) both list it as "Road to Vegas," and all you have is a copyright database website. So you're going to need a better argument than that. Davejohnsan (talk) 03:59, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

My Reason for my Changes to Meg Griffin's Personality

I put that Meg Griffin was the most bland and uptight member of the Griffin family because the episodes make it obvious. She differs from other people her age by personality. She never drinks or does drugs or anything else rebelliously. She never fights or confronts her antagonists. She never plays pranks or plots revenge against others. All she ever does is whine, complain, and mope about life and how she doesn't fit in. She takes her problems out on herself instead of fighting for her rights for respect or reinventing herself. That is who I consider to be bland and uptight. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Manny Young 4 (talkcontribs) 01:59, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

I'm not arguing that you're wrong, but this is original research, which Wikipedia cannot accept as a reference. Find sources that back up your observations; then reinstate them. Davejohnsan (talk) 04:31, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
