Your image contributions

[edit]

Thank you for trying to add different or better images to Wikipedia. Your image contributions keep being reverted because of the licensing of the images you are trying to add. They will continue to be reverted until you can establish that they are able to be used under some license such as Creative Commons, public domain, or some other fair use or free license. Dismas|(talk) 03:56, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've again reverted the edits you've made with respect to the same images as before. Please sort out the issues with the copyrights and source information before trying to add them to the articles again. For information regarding this, please see the following pages for guidelines: Wikipedia:Images and Wikipedia:Image use policy. I welcome rotating the images in articles that already have them so the content isn't so static as well as adding images to pages that don't have any yet but in order to keep things legal, images should be appropriately tagged. You seem to be having trouble understanding something especially when it comes to the image of Briana Banks. Just because the image was from her website doesn't mean that it's free to use wherever anyone wants to use it. The photographer that took the picture or Banks herself owns the copyright to that image. They are the only ones who can say where that image can be used. Not you or me. If you were to write to Banks or her agent, they may have some promotional images that you can put up on the article. That is one way that you may be able to get an image of her. Do you understand what I'm trying to explain? Please respond either here or at my talk page instead of just putting the image back up. I'm not trying to be antagonistic about this but ignoring what I've told you three times now will not help the situation or get images on those pages. Dismas|(talk) 03:04, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wht about use of images under fair use? Wouldn't that make it ok? Mathmo 18:59, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Jesse Jane02.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Jesse Jane02.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thanks for uploading Image:Briana_Banks_01.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

A request

[edit]

Hi Daniel,

I would just like to notify you that uploading photos, such as those presently listed at Possibly Unfree Images with incorrect tags is against Wikipedia's guidelines. Not only that, but your unfortunate actions imperil the project by ignoring the rightful copyright of others. Please cease and desist immediately, and please communicate to those who are attempting to communicate with you, otherwise we may have to file a request for comment regarding your anti-social behaviors. Thank you. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 14:19, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your picture experiments on Wikipedia

[edit]

Please cease and desist adding copyrighted material on Wikipedia. Despite your claims that the image is under GFDL, it is clear (as in this case) that the images you are uploading are purposefully mistagged. Unfortunately, these attempts do not fool anyone and are contested at possibly unfree images. Any further attempts to disrupt Wikipedia pages to make your point will be met with blocking your ability to upload or edit. Thank you. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 21:13, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
