What constitutes a reliable source
Please note that your edit to Jes Brieden has again been reverted as the sources you continue to add do not meet Wikipedia's reliable sourcing criteria for personal statistics in biography articles. Tertiary compendia-type websites such as IMDb, Discogs, NNDB and the like include user-generated content and therefore cannot be used to support biographical statistics. You will need to find a source that has a reputation for fact checking (e.g. a newspaper or magazine story/interview) or a website controlled by the subject themselves in order for the date to be added.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:42, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice; I've been searching high and low for more sources regarding Jes Brieden's birthdate but have had no success in doing so. The article seems incomplete without a birthdate, so I'll try my best next time I search for other sources. CycloneYoris (talk) 20:05, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
- There's no point in taking a chance on the of including incorrect information in an article just so that it appears more complete. WP:DOB addresses this directly when it states "Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object"", which is of course part of the overarching biographies of living persons policy "We must get the article right. Be very firm about the use of high-quality sources." --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:14, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
- Got that; thanks again. CycloneYoris (talk) 20:34, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
Local hurricane time
Hi. FYI, Bill formed on June 16. I know its weird because there are different time zones, but here in Wikipedia we always use UTC time. This is just to keep in mind in the future for current storms. Thanks. :) Typhoon2013 (talk) 04:47, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
Hi. I always seem to get so confused with time zones, sorry about that. :) CycloneYoris (talk) 17:20, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

Hello, I'm JustBerry. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Hurricane Nora (1997) with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. JustBerry (talk) 21:48, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
- I already explained why in the edit summary. It is not my fault if you did not see the summary. I purposely deleted that section because there is no need to explain why the name was not retired, the storm was not notable enough, and many articles of other storms (that were not evenly notable) have done the same. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. A tag has been placed on File:Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots March 2015.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Wrong place
Hi, you posted this:
- Typhoon Clara to Category:Tropical Storm Clara – C2B: The name "Clara" has also been used once in the Atlantic Ocean, so the term "Typhoon" is no longer accurate. CycloneYoris (talk) 05:25, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
- at WP:CFDS, but that page is only for categories. There is no Category:Typhoon Clara. Try WP:RM. – Fayenatic London 20:51, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
- Why did you do a cut/paste move? To preserve page history and for the reasons given at WP:ATTREQ, those are not allowed (and in this case, while probably necessary, not sure worth the trouble but that's up to you). YE Pacific Hurricane 14:13, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
- Wouldn't it be easier if you would just rename the page instead of reverting all of the improvements I made? The move was properly done (even if it was done manually) I left a redirect on the page to notify about the move and a notice on the edit summary. If you want to leave the current title that's just fine with me, you could've just said that in the first place; so I could've avoided all the hustle of trying to fix something that didn't need fixing. CycloneYoris (talk) 22:00, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
- Non-admins can't delete redirects, with one exception, so I can't move the page. So either submit a request move or leave it as and I'm not sure latter is worth the hassle. YE Pacific Hurricane 00:41, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
- Oh, I thought you were an admin! No wonder you couldn't move the page. Well, nevermind, lets leave it as is. I agree it's not worth the trouble to change it anyway. CycloneYoris (talk) 01:50, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
