Barnstar

[edit]

Thanks very much for the barnstar for Murder of Julia Martha Thomas! I'm glad you liked the article. Prioryman (talk) 22:42, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I have nominated the article for FA status - please see Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Murder of Julia Martha Thomas/archive1. If you have any feedback it would be very welcome. Prioryman (talk) 19:41, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article 2011 New Patriotic Party Primaries you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:2011 New Patriotic Party Primaries for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of said article. If you oppose this decision, you may ask for a reassessment. – Quadell (talk) 17:32, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello LWC you tagged this article for deletion but it is still in the process of being expanded. It had lasted less than 15 minutes before you tagged it. Please do well to review articles from the backlog so that new articles are not quickly deleted whiles they are being prepared. CrossTempleJay  → talk 09:21, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let you know... The references from www.nairaland.com are not reliable references as they come from a forum. The references should be removed and reliable sources added. Please see WP:SOURCES for info on reliable sources. Bgwhite (talk) 07:10, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ghana stubs

[edit]

Hi - I was wondering about your assessment of the Ghana town stubs you have been making. Each article you create has a stub template, yet you assess it on the talk page as start-class. Why is this? Thanks, "Pepper" 12:52, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Adopt-a-Typo

[edit]

Hello! You have received this message because it is believed that you might be interested in adopting a typo for your very own.

What is adopt-a-typo?

[edit]

Adopt-a-typo is an effort to harness a movement that already exists in Wikipedia. Individual users already pick typos that particularly irritate them, and search for them in the Wikipedia articles. Adopt-a-typo is intended to do three things:

  • Add social credit to this practice, so that users feel enticed to join and adopt.
  • Catalog the growth of the adopt a typo movement, so that there is a list of ALL adopted typos.
  • Enable those who want to adopt a typo to do so quickly and easily.

Why do you want to start this new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?

[edit]

I, and probably you, have joined several groups that pursue the same goal through different means, but we at Adopt-a-Typo believe this proposal harnesses the unique power that Wikipedia has with its mass conglomerate of editors.

Advice on article

[edit]

Thank you for your very supportive messages when I started on Wikepdia. I have now added several other pages. Another user started an article on a subject I had researched. Most references were in print media. I waited till I got these from newspaper offices before starting my article. The other user started the article and it was speedily deleted before I could get the references. I would really value your advice on how I should start an article about a deleted subject. The subject was BDJS Fernando. (Fattutor (talk) 17:38, 2 September 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Hi Fattutor, nice to hear from you. You can work on writing the article again, but just do well to add properly sourced sources and references. If those references are offline, don't worry you can still add them but just make sure that you follow the right offline reference procedure. For backup an online reference or two can be found on the article or something quoted in the article, adding it gives it more weight. All the best, if you have any problem just let me know. God bless. A friend called  CrossTempleJay  → talk 20:38, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Act of Vandalism J.B.Peiris

[edit]

An act of vandalism appears to have been committed on this articlle by IP address 173.79.67.199. I call it vandalism because this IP address added a category called Category:Fellows of the Screwing People Physicians. I have deleted the objectionable material. Defiling an obituary is the pits. What action should be taken? Fattutor (talk) 22:39, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
