Hello Chris, You've helped with this article before. In the Mobile view of the article, the Danish and the Spanish languages do not appear in Read in another language. Going from the Danish and Spanish though, everything works and all the languages appear and are accessible. Can you take a look at this? Thank you. Nicola Mitchell (talk) 13:30, 16 July 2014 (UTC)

What to do with well-intended contributions
I'm a novice in editing Wikipedia and have never used the Talk facility. I've also posted this on my own Talk Page.
I'm look for some advice as I've noticed you have kindly tidied up my school's entry in the past. Another contributor has added a paragraph to the page recently and, although it appears to be written with the best of intentions, it is not the best English - it's a fond recollection of their time at school.
Should I remove it entirely or create another section (perhaps called "memories from alumni" or something like that) and place it (edited!) there?
I'd value your opinion. Thanks once more for your contribution to the page.

- Best to remove it @Neiljones68: because Wikipedia has no way of verifying this personal claim and it falls under original research. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 14:40, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

BOZ (talk) is wishing you a Merry Christmas! This greeting (and season) promotes WikiLove and hopefully this note has made your day a little better. Spread the WikiLove by wishing another user a Merry Christmas, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past, a good friend, or just some random person. Don't eat yellow snow!
Spread the holiday cheer by adding {{subst:User:Flaming/MC2008}} to their talk page with a friendly message.
I'm wishing you a Merry Christmas, because that is what I celebrate. If you don't like Christmas or just don't celebrate it in any of its forms, then please accept a generic "Happy Holidays". If you celebrate no holidays at this time of year, then hopefully you will be satisfied with an even more generic "Season's Greetings". :)

Books & Bytes New Years Double Issue
Volume 1 Issue 3, December/January 2013
(Sign up for monthly delivery)
Happy New Year, and welcome to a special double issue of Books & Bytes. We've included a retrospective on the changes and progress TWL has seen over the last year, the results of the survey TWL participants completed in December, some of our plans for the future, a second interview with a Wiki Love Libraries coordinator, and more. Here's to 2014 being a year of expansion and innovation for TWL!
The Wikipedia Library completed the first 6 months of its Individual Engagement grant last week. Here's where we are and what we've done:
- Increased access to sources: 1500 editors signed up for 3700 free accounts, individually worth over $500,000, with usage increases of 400-600%
- Deep networking: Built relationships with Credo, HighBeam, Questia, JSTOR, Cochrane, LexisNexis, EBSCO, New York Times, and OCLC
- New pilot projects: Started the Wikipedia Visiting Scholar project to empower university-affiliated Wikipedia researchers
- Developed community: Created portal connecting 250 newsletter recipients, 30 library members, 3 volunteer coordinators, and 2 part-time contractors
- Tech scoped: Spec'd out a reference tool for linking to full-text sources and established a basis for OAuth integration
- Broad outreach: Wrote a feature article for Library Journal's The Digital Shift; presenting at the American Library Association annual meeting

Great work! Very excited to see the WP:Newspapers.com materials going to good work. One concern: in the citations, you haven't been including the "via = Newspapers.com" in the citation. Though its good that we are providing links, and a basic citation, its also important for metadata purposes that the "via" be in the citation. We are working with OCLC and a couple other organizations to help readers access paywalled materials that are indicated through the via in their local libraries if the libraries have access. Sadads (talk) 19:15, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Sadads: - Sorry, haven't finished that page and I thought we could have a bot go by and add the via (since its not native in the citation template). ChrisGualtieri (talk) 04:38, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- Both Cite Web and Cite News include the via as a option. Is it not native to prove it? Could you put in a bug report for the tool asking for it to be built in? Sadads (talk) 14:16, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

22:32:56, 13 August 2014 review of submission by Jonathan A H
- Jonathan A H (talk · contribs)
I am not requesting a re-review just some advice on better referencing. The references that I cites are from the websites of three internationally recognised classical groups and one music college. What do I need to do to improve these sources?
Jonathan A H (talk) 22:32, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Jonathan A H: - Well, first of all the first reference is to Wikipedia and the others merely reference him. The biggest issue is that you only managed three sentences and have no performance or other reviews in media that are not specifically tied to the subject in some fashion. Notability is one of those things that is weird, but super short stubs are unlikely to be improved by others, rapidly. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 23:21, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

I have updated my article with accurate references from several well known sources.
Rabbit1213 (talk) 23:42, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
- A single sentence....surely there is more than a trivial mention? The article is barely a paragraph. Why is there no source purely focused on Baker? ChrisGualtieri (talk) 23:47, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
01:42:19, 14 August 2014 review of submission by JCMPC
I am not requesting a re-review per se, but I would like some clarification on why my recently-submitted article was not accepted. This is my first attempt at creating a new article, and would like my future attempts to be more successful.
I understand that there should be sufficient reliable sources, but wouldn't the book itself (along with the ISBN number) be a good enough source? All major points that I included in the article are from the forward and introduction in the book.
Thanks
JCMPC (talk) 01:42, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
- @JCMPC: The article's only source is the book itself. It doesn't explain its notability or offer any critical reviews. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 02:03, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
- I have added a reference to the publisher's website, which includes praise from several magazines/journals, as well as a link to the website for the National Book Award, for which the book was a finalist. Are these types of references sufficient? Thanks JCMPC (talk) 19:15, 14 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kolb and Dill, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Strong man, Weber and Fields and Matinee. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Dear Reviewer,
The submission was completely legitimate. The source is SOCCCD Office of Public Affairs, which is directly connected with the State of California and the government. Please clarify what you mean by wanting more "reliable sources", the government is a reliable source, as well as being published for the public to view in an unbiased matter with no self interest, the publication is simply informative.

I did provide credible references?? four of them. What are you looking for??
Alskiin83 (talk) 16:28, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- It is context. The entire proposed article was "Albert "Al" Louis-Jean, Jr. (born 1993) is an American football cornerback for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Boston College. He signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent after the 2014 NFL Draft." - The article about the draft covers that minimal amount of information, but we should not have article that are barely three sentences. Context. Not resources. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 22:07, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
Moving without discussion?
... of an article that is being heavily edited, and what is a current event? If you think this is needed at least make a comment in talk and seek consensus first. Thank you. - Cwobeel (talk) 21:22, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Cwobeel: What on earth are you talking about? ChrisGualtieri (talk) 21:26, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- (Move log); 01:36 . . ChrisGualtieri (talk | contribs) moved page Shooting of Michael Brown to Death of Michael Brown over redirect (In no uncertain terms - notes the death of Michael Brown against non-fatal "shooting")
- Sorry if I misunderstood this action. - Cwobeel (talk) 21:34, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- Oh, there is an on-going discussion. It was boldly moved 2 days prior, but the logical conclusion is at that page, but it matters none with where it ends up. Other pressing matters exist for that page. I thought you were mad about an AFC pass or something I did, because I rarely get to pass them. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 21:41, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- So sorry for the misinterpretation. Have a good day. - Cwobeel (talk) 21:46, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- No worries! You too. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 22:05, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

RE:Collab
I appreciate the thought, but my activity cycle here is hideously inconsistent. I basically show up a couple times a year when I briefly have a dead schedule, and try to un-break as many things as possible before real life intrudes and I vanish again. --erachima talk 03:38, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- Oh okay. I know, my schedule has been bouncing quite a bit as of late myself and week vacation (away from all internet and "civilized life" on a cross-country tour) is just what I need. Though I am glad to go to some museums on the way. I sound like a cultured pomp when I say that, but I love museums - I hope that the Garbage Museum re-opens and I can go when I am in the area. A fascinating place. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 03:41, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
You know the sad thing? Getting GAN down to 500 would be a feat at this point. Last time I tried to do something about backlog there it was barely above 200. --erachima talk 04:25, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- When it was low, I rarely had anything of interest to review. Now I got a bunch and can't keep up, plus vacation! ChrisGualtieri (talk) 04:45, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
