Because the community has been consistently failing to protect its members from abuse, and because those that do attempt to prevent such abuse are treated so hostile I am out of here. I will find a project that has minimum requirements for treating people with decency, I don't want to relive grade school again. I love the idea of Wikipedia but I don't see why I should keep getting kicked in the teeth and ask for more. Cya. Chillum (Need help? Ask me) 03:50, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Chillum, no arm-twisting here, but I for one am sad to see you go. Feel free to come back and wipe your a** with MF's comments. Happy trails. Drmies (talk) 04:03, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I have only the vaguest idea what led to this, but perhaps "wikibreak" would be better? One can take a break as long or as short as needed. Rest up, recharge the batteries. Here's wishing you the best. Durova412 04:05, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I hate to break this to you, but life is substantially like grade school in many respects. I hope you return, I have vague knowledge of you as a meaningful contributor to the project (and vague only because i'm relatively new). I have made light of this, but woulda given Malleus a slight wedgie for his sass.--Milowent (talk) 04:09, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you do return I hope that you will show respect and collegiality to your fellow editors by refraining from making unnecessary and disruptive blocks. The kind of drama and the animus abusive blocks create is unhelpful to the encyclopedia building project. Respectful communication is what's required here. We don't need a continuation of the hypocrisy that allows admins and arbitrators to make all kinds of vicious statements about good faith editors without any kind of rebuke or sanction while mere commoners are sanctioned at whim for expressing even mild frustrations. I don't endorse the comments that were made about you, they were mean spirited just like Ryan Postelthwaite's calling a good faith editor a drama loving troll. But you can't expect people who are bullied to be sweet in return. ChildofMidnight (talk) 04:15, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You were a great help when I was a newbie. Kayau Voting IS evil 04:51, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Shoot, 'twas malleus?
But like the terminator,
I hope You'll Be Back.

- Dont forget to delete your userpage on the way out. ;0 Ceoil sláinte 20:19, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Can...can I have your badge? HalfShadow 22:14, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Easy as it is, I suppose we shouldn't mock like this. Lets AGF and pretend this is not a hissy fit from one who can give and not take, and he is gone for good this time. Ceoil sláinte 22:27, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Leaving wikipedia over this? Rather than quitting altogether, I recommend a short break to clear your head of the cobwebs spun there by "malicious" (to coin a phrase) characters. Characters like Malice Fatuous are eventually drummed out of here once they've gotten everyone mad at them. But it can take time. Be patient. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 04:01, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Even though you're going, HBC NameWatcherBot should probably still be running as all it appears to do is report to admins, but not post warnings on user pages. ClueBot I understand, but just as well, hopefully it can find a new owner.
- Meanwhile, I considered my self to be one of the students in grade school that people just kept abusing. I can probably see your situation. mechamind90 16:41, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I meant hopefully HBC NameWatcherBot can find a new owner. Besides, three usernames I found today alone are Big testes, Poopycrap123 and Policearegay. Bot would have halted them in minutes. mechamind90 20:06, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- God dammit. Just found out about this and am not happy about it at all. EVula // talk // ☯ // 15:28, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I second that. Take a break, and just ignore Malleus when you come back. C'mon. Beeblebrox (talk) 01:08, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- It would perhaps have been wiser to ignore me before he went away. You might like to consider taking your own advice as well Beeblebrox, and giving some consideration to your assymetric definition of "civility". --Malleus Fatuorum 01:12, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- With Malice toward none, as always. 0:) ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 03:27, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I really do think that you ought to look at little more closely at your own behaviour Bugs if you have any aspirations to being taken seriously. --Malleus Fatuorum 03:51, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- The day you ever take me seriously, I'll know I'm doing something wrong. 0:) ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 04:09, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I do so hope that you're holding your breath until then. --Malleus Fatuorum 04:14, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- You bet! 0:) ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 04:17, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- That seems like good advice for everybody, especially those using threatening edit summaries [1]. Dayewalker (talk) 04:02, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I just wanted to see if Malice Aforethought could take as well as dish out. Looks like he can't. Surprise, surprise. 0:) ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 04:06, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- (edit conflict) Next time you're in the vicinity of a dictionary Dayewalker I suggest you open it. Just to give you a clue, "civility" is a word beginning with "c", which comes between "b" and "d". --Malleus Fatuorum 04:12, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- In my thankfully limited exposure to MF, I think he wouldn't know civility if it smacked him in the face. 0:) ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 04:17, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Atta boy, MF. Dayewalker (talk) 04:24, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- For further amusement, check out Mr. Civility's rap sheet:[2] His threats to block me for incivility have me shaking in my jackboots. :) ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 04:26, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Let's see, your buddy Ottava Rima is under a one year ban, Child of Midnight is too, that leaves just one more notorious user who makes good content contributions which are the only reason they haven't been banned for being a troll... So I don't think Bugs is the one who should be worried. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:58, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- And once they're all banned, I'll run for admin again.
- THEN, they can be worried. >:)

Further displays of extreme bravado and rapier-sharp wit should be posted to WP:Mine's bigger than yours, rather than here. --Floquenbeam (talk) 19:28, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply] |
