Arriva Southern Counties reverts
Hello Charlesdrakew, I understand you think the info on routes is unencyclopedic - It's been there since I started editing it and no one has had any issues with it, Plus it's there for those who may need to get a bus or just want to read it ?, Although it may seem unencyclopedic - it's actually quite useful, Have a good day!, Regards Davey2010 Talk 21:55, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
- This is an encyclopedia, not a directory or guide. See WP:NOT. People should go to bus company websites for bus information not to wiki pages which may be out of date or vandalised when they look. Wikipedia is not a reliable source nor is it a travel guide. You have a good day too.--Charles (talk) 09:01, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

The Tea Leaf - Issue Four
Hi! Welcome to the fourth issue of The Tea Leaf, the official newsletter for the Teahouse!
- Teahouse pilot wraps up after 13 weeks After being piloted on English Wikipedia starting in February, the Teahouse wrapped up its pilot period on May 27, 2012. We expect this is just the beginning for the Teahouse and hope the project will continue to grow in the months to come!
Thank you and congratulations to all of the community members who participated - and continue to participate!
- What you've all been waiting for: Teahouse Pilot Report is released! We look forward to your feedback on the methodology and outcomes of this pilot project.
- ....and if a pilot report wasn't enough, the Teahouse Pilot Metrics Report is out too! Dive into the numbers and survey results to learn about the impact the Teahouse has made on English Wikipedia.
- Teahouse shows positive impact on new editor retention and engagement
- 409 new editors participated during the entire pilot period, with about 40 new editors participating in the Teahouse per week.
- Two weeks after participating, 33% of Teahouse guests are still active on Wikipedia, as opposed to 11% of a similar control group.
- New editors who participated in the Teahouse edit 10x the number of articles, make 7x more global edits, and 2x as much of their content survives on Wikipedia compared to the control group.
- Women participate in the Teahouse 28% of Teahouse participants were women, up from 9% of editors on Wikipedia in general, good news for this project which aimed to have impact on the gender gap too - but still lots to be done here!
- New opportunities await for the Teahouse in phase two as the Teahouse team and Wikipedia community examine ways to improve, scale, and sustain the project. Opportunities for future work include:
- Automating or semi-automating systems such as invites, metrics and archiving
- Experimenting with more ways for new editors to discover the Teahouse
- Building out the social and peer-to-peer aspects further, including exploring ways to make answering questions easier, creating more ways for new editors to help each other and for all participants to acknowledge each other's efforts
- Growing volunteer capacity, continuing to transfer Teahouse administration tasks to volunteers whenever possible, and looking for new ways to make maintenance and participation easier for everyone.
- Want to know how you can lend a hand at the Teahouse? Become a host! Learn more about what makes the Teahouse different than other help spaces on Wikipedia and see how you can help new editors by visiting here.
- Say hello to the new guests at the Teahouse. Take the time to welcome and get to know the latest guests at the Teahouse. Drop off some wikilove to these editors today, as being welcomed by experienced editors is really encouraging to new Wikipedians.

--sola$$$$$$$$ (talk) 16:26, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Sola2012. You do not need to be an admin to improve and protect Wikipedia. Becoming an admin is a difficult process and takes years of experience and a thorough knowledge of policy. I have been editing for over five years and am not an admin. I do not feel any need to be an admin. If I see things that only and admin can do I can report at the administrators' noticeboard. Admins have some extra tools but not any greater authority over content or policy.--Charles (talk) 22:07, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
Thank you!

- Hello Ronald.
- I wish you well with collaberating on fiction.--Charles (talk) 21:12, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you Charles.
The delegation page you pointed out is quite helpful.
- There is something in my personal experience which may help you understand my lnterests.
- I became one of seven directors in a failing cooperative which had nine hundred and seventy-five members (all the directers were members). Business and activities ground to a halt in february 1987. i ended up with unusual concepts of responsibilities which stayed with me ever since. Saskatchewan law does not seem to haave sufficint means to free people from responsibilities that have become obsolete and redundant.A quorum ov members was twenty-five. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.11.13.68 (talk) 12:24, 30 June 2012 (UTC) - RCNesland RCNesland (talk) 05:59, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
Introduction to evolution
Regarding this edit, don't you think it makes more sense to direct readers to the appropriate articles if we're going to mention that the theory of evolution is applicable to medicine and psychology? People are going to want to know how it's applicable. --50.46.252.252 (talk) 22:17, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Here is a discussion I started on the talk page. Regards, --50.46.252.252 (talk) 22:42, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- No. I think it is weasel wording to imply that less than the whole of medicine and psychology is dependent on the fact of evolution.--Charles (talk) 08:45, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
- Could you please move this comment to the article talk page to keep the discussion centralized? Thanks a bunch! Dominus Vobisdu (talk) 14:38, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

- Sorry about the coffee. I will try to remember. Great research into the sockpuppetry. I can understand bus obsessives wanting to compile lists of routes but this guy created a hoax bus company. How bizarre is that? Thanks again.--Charles (talk) 21:12, 10 July 2012 (UTC)--Charles (talk) 21:29, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Well, just as long as they run on time. Wait, what? Also, I'm at 3R on Transdev York. Ian.thomson (talk) 21:32, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- It is easily done in these situations. I have sometimes forgotten I reverted the previous day but within a 24 hour period. If the account is a sockpuppet I don't think it matters anyway.--Charles (talk) 08:41, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Bournemouth Wiki Page
Hello, I’m confused why my link for Bournemouth.com was removed from the Bournemouth wiki page? My site has no intention to provide link backs, or any other marketing short cuts to provide better SEO to my website. The intention for my site to be added is for informative purposes only. There are no selling points to my site for customers, just general information with key features to the area. My site has been around since 1997, so its not new, its informative to the area, as is Bournemouth.co.uk. I would appreciate it if I could read this link. Regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Greenpimpernel (talk • contribs) 07:30, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- I am sure your site is excellent but this is an encyclopedia and not a directory of links and it does not meet the restrictions imposed by our external links policy and is not going to be linked here.--Charles (talk) 08:24, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
I appreciate this is not a directories link, but based on the encyclopedia providing information, my site fits those categories. the same could be said about Bournemouth.co.uk website? Do you know how I question this external links policy? thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Greenpimpernel (talk • contribs) 08:49, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
- The same could be said of the other site so I removed it. If you mean you want to change the policy you will need to start a discussion on the talk page of that policy to find out if there is a consensus among editors for doing so.--Charles (talk) 16:37, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
