A tag has been placed on your user page, User:ChangeNOW Summit/sandbox/ChangeNOW, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. [edit]
There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. Request reason:

Thank you for the explanation, I was not aware that our username cannot imply shared usership and must be individual. I have proposed a new username and furthermore intend to change the associated email address with this account so that this profile will be linked to my personal email. Moreover, I understand the concerns about the page being created being advertising, so if I am unbanned, I will delete the current ChangeNOW draft page that I was working on as I write the content as neutrally as possible, with more references, before creating a new page. The draft was just the first draft and was far from being ready for publishing, but I will now work on a more developed draft before uploading it all at once instead to avoid any and all promotional-sounding content. The intention is not to create a promotional page, but rather to create a page for a large, notable, international event that is quickly growing in size and which still lacks a Wikipedia page. I will also disclose the fact that I am an intern of ChangeNOW, in order to avoid any conflict of interest with the content I intend to contribute for the ChangeNOW page. In addition, I would appreciate being unblocked so that I can login and make contributions to other pages apart from this one, which is also not possible for me to do at the moment as my whole IP address is blocked from accessing Wikipedia. Thank you and if there is anything else I need to do in order to be unblocked, please let me know.

Decline reason:

No thanks. Unlike other sites, we aren't interested in what organisations wish to say about themselves. See WP:COI and WP:PROMO. If instead you wish to write about subject areas for which you have no conflict of interest, tell us what those are. Yamla (talk) 16:31, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I understand, I will no longer attempt to create a page for ChangeNOW in that case. I would appreciate getting unblocked (at the very least getting my IP address unblocked so I can create a personal account with my personal email) so that I can contribute to a couple of stub pages. Firstly the Sarajevski Otvoreni Centar page, which is lacking basic information. General history about the Center should be added (when it was created, by who, why) as well as some of the notable work that they have carried out/achieved, which includes the publishing of their annual Orange Reports, on the status of women's rights in the country and their LGBT work which resulted in the first ever Sarajevo Pride in 2019.If that goes well, then I would also like to contribute to the Srbijagas page, which should include more information about the large-scale reforms that began in 2013 and are continuing into 2021 wherein the company is being split up into smaller groups. The financial data has also not been updated since 2016 it appears.

Decline reason:

If this account is to be unblocked, you will need to request a new username. You can also change the email attached to this account should you choose. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 02:16, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Please see reasoning above. I would like to be able to edit various pages which are unrelated to the original ChangeNOW page that I was blocked for. I am requesting a new username again in order for it to no longer violate the rules.

Accept reason:

I am about to unblock you to allow you to request a username change. Remember that, even after being renamed, you are expected to make edits that are unrelated to ChangeNOW, or you risk being blocked again. Salvio 18:07, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
