Speedy deletion of Norris Lozano
[edit]A tag has been placed on Norris Lozano, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. TN‑X-Man 18:46, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Your question about your article
[edit]Hi and thanks for writing. The article was deleted because the nominator judged that it read like a promotional piece, known around here as spam. I hope this won't discourage you from continuing here at Wikipedia. Some things you should become familiar with if you want to write articles that will withstand the test of time (the blue links I'm about to put in will take you to these important guidelines). First, make sure that your subject notable, as Wikipedia defines notability. Second, make sure that the notability is backed up by reliable sources. When citing these sources, please use our citation formats - the footnote one is the most preferred, and make sure you have a "references" section at the end of the article where the footnotes will show up. Any external links to other websites should go in an "External links" section at the end of the article, rather than in the text. Generally, other wikipedia articles aren't used as refs, although if there's an article, wikilink to it (by adding square brackets, like [[this]] around the word.
So that you can practice on the article you started, I pulled the deleted text out of the trash bin and put it in a sandbox for you: you can go to User:Cesmith111urban/sandbox. Once you're done, let me know and I'll help you move it over to the article space. Hope this helps, don't hesitate to ask if you have questions, I've written a lot of articles around here and don't mind coaching a newcomer. Happy editing! Hello again
I have been playing in the sandbox you so nicely populated with the Lozano bio. Now I'm re-reading your instructions above and see there's still some work to be done. But this is also to say thanks for your time and all the additional resources you have provided me. You have gone above and beyond - but maybe that's SOP for you as a helicopter pilot...
