WP:FILMS Newsletter

Hello, how was your month? I just finished the newsletter, and if your bot's up to it, it's ready to be sent out. I would also appreciate it if you could give it a quick copyedit. Thanks in advance, and let me know if you need anything. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 00:37, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Sending out now. My month was pretty good overall. How was yours? Cbrown1023 talk 00:47, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
Not bad, although the beginning of this one may be a bit stressful with upcoming finals and moving to a new apartment. Thanks for sending it out and catching that error. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 05:39, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Milhist newsletter

Hi there Cbrown, could you send out the Military history newsletter (Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Outreach/Newsletter April 2008) per the different lists at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Outreach and the Active members list. Much appreciated as always. Thanks. Woody (talk) 20:46, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

I added myself to the no delivery list a month ago, yet I still received a newsletter. I can stop receiving them please. Thanks. -- malo (tlk) (cntrbtns) 03:23, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Weird, I have no idea how that happened. You were the only one on the no delivery list who received the newsletter... sorry (Maybe it has to do with the fact that your username is lowercase on that page? I don't know.) Cbrown1023 talk 21:35, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

The Novels WikiProject Newsletter - Issue XXIV - May 2008

The May 2008 issue of the Novels WikiProject newsletter has been published. You may read the newsletter, change the format in which future issues will be delivered to you, or unsubscribe from this notification by following the link. Thank you. SteveCrossinBot (talk) 07:51, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Like the new shortcut above? Anyway, I wanted to ask about this edit from last year. It seems like a good idea to me that we make it clear that the signing agent isn't signing away all rights. If you don't like that language, might I suggest, "I acknowledge that I grant anyone the right to use the work in a commercial product and to modify it according to their needs, provided that they abide by the terms of the license and any other applicable laws" (bold part is my addition)? (This also at Wikipedia talk:Requesting copyright permission.) howcheng {chat} 04:30, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Shortcut looks good, and your change definitely makes it clear. Feel free to update the page. :-) Cbrown1023 talk 16:41, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

I see you closed this as a delete and removed the originally nominated article. However the other similar article and redirect page which I added to the afd are still there with their afd tags in place. --BrucePodger (Lets have a beer) 12:45, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh, sorry about that! Fixed, thanks for noticing. Cbrown1023 talk 21:18, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

New Writer to Wiki

Hi there

I am the last contributor and a new writer on Wiki and I am hopeless at editing this site. I tried to make a change but thought I had made it correctly. I was saying that we should keep this post because its credible and she has a reasonable profile. I am certainly not a spammer or a false wiki writer. Please help!

Many thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Journo818 (talkcontribs) 21:44, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Hmm? You haven't made any edits. Cbrown1023 talk 22:13, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Email list

Please add Nishkid64 and Ryan Poslethwaite to the email list. James added them to IRC and also gave me level 30 rights (scary, huh). RlevseTalk 13:46, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Daniel said he was handling it and Dmc knows about it too, one of them should be able to sort it out. Cbrown1023 talk 18:57, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Yep, but the last one I just sent to it bounced for some reason. It was about the JzG case. Did it go through? RlevseTalk 19:13, 18 May 2008 (UTC) Nvm, I see it went through. RlevseTalk 19:15, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Barn Owl Award

Slakr's Barn Owl Award

Who needs a barn star when you can have a barn owl? The star just sits there and looks pretty. The barn owl, on the other hand, helps prevent excessive rodent infestation, since it's one of the most active rodent pest killers. Now all we've gotta do is train it to deal with vandal pests and we'll be set.

Anyway, just a general thanks for your dedication to making the encyclopedia better. Cheers =) --slakrtalk / 19:26, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Hahaha, I love it slakr. Thanks! :-D I might have to steal it sometime too... mwahaha Cbrown1023 talk 19:27, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

NYC Meetup: June 1, 2008

New York City Meetup

Next: Sunday June 1st, Columbia University area
Last: 3/16/2008
This box: view  talk  edit

In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, elect a board of directors, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the last meeting's minutes).

We'll also review our recent Wikipedia Takes Manhattan event, and make preparations for our exciting successor Wiki Week bonanza, being planned with Columbia University students for September or October.

In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.

You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

Also, check out our regional US Wikimedia chapters blog Wiki Northeast (and we're open to guest posts).

Birds newsletter

Hi Cbrown: Hope you've had a good month! It's that time again: can you please send the June WP:BIRDS newsletter to project members (using preferences on the outreach page, please)? It's ready to go June 1. Also, can you please correct the heading to say Wikiproject rather than Wikiprojet for the "full newsletter" option? Thanks—we really appreciate you sending these for us every month! MeegsC | Talk 08:15, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

As we are there, please have a look at the editing history of the article, and namely on the comments left. Interesting, would you find a personal attack against me there or no? Also, User:Dahn's contributions are sometimes fake and supporting a strong POV, please just read the comments in the editing history--Moldopodo (talk) 15:28, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

This may have been Moledopolo, please don't add arguments from ignorance to wikipedia, but everything else is just talking about the content. However, I'm not an uninvolved administrator (I have a clerked a few Eastern Europe-related cases like Digwuren, so I'd say I'm involved.), you may wish to ask someone else like Rlevse. Cbrown1023 talk 15:34, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
Thank you. Too bad you are reluctant to dig into the matter. I have contacted Rlevse.--Moldopodo (talk) 17:19, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
