The school has various programs for filmmaking and is an open enrollment establishment. The Academy is licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education. PPA offers two professional diplomas; the Digital Motion Picture Production (DMPP) and Digital Filmmaking Management and Entrepreneurship (DFME). The school also offers a course in professional screenwriting for feature films.
Colin Alwin Harris founded a small production company in 2002, Global Impact Empire Entertainment. In 2005, the company was incorporated and operated under the name Global Impact Empire Entertainment; a Limited Liability Company in the State of Florida. In 2009, the company was renamed Prince of Prestige when it changed its operations to an institution of higher learning. In 2010, Prince of Prestige Academy was granted the status to award diplomas by the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education. This approval included the ability to offer online classes worldwide.
