Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited SF9 (band), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mnet. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Dummy edits

[edit]

Hi there, I noticed your recent edits to Eric Nam where it looks like you self reverted to correct your edit summary. I just wanted to let you know thay if that happens in the future, you don't need to re-do the edit to correct yourself, you could make a wp:dummy edit which would allow you to leave a corrected summary (for example: "(dummy edit) previous summary should have said replaced unreliable source, not added.") Dummy edits usually involve adding a space somewhere which doesn't change the article display, but just allow an editor to add a summary. Have a good day! Alex (talk) 07:07, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits

[edit]

Information icon Hi Btspurplegalaxy! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at iKon that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. There's been a few edits I have noticed recently that you have marked as minor which are actually not considered a minor edit, so I thought it would be beneficial to bring it to your attention. For example, your removal of a source on iKon is not a minor edit, despite it being unreliable. You also recently added new information to Son Na-eun, which should never be marked as a minor edit. Nice going on the in-coming edit requests at the GAN. Could you try to install this script from your user account to locate the duplicate links in the BTS article. It gives instructions for removing them. ErnestKrause (talk) 14:29, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I can try. Btspurplegalaxy (talk) 15:28, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I installed it but I'm not sure if if I did it right because I can't see anything popping up. Can you look at this and see if I did it correctly User:Btspurplegalaxy/common.js Btspurplegalaxy (talk) 16:21, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You can click on "Highlight duplicate links" on the left-hand Tools to see which links are overlinked. Also, there are some links which are indexed and some which are merely duplicated. When you get it working, then I think the indexed links which are duplicates should still be retained, while the duplicate links which are simply page redirects should be removed. If its still unclear you can ask the reviewer to possibly shed some light on it. I'll sign off for a few hours and you can give it a go. ErnestKrause (talk) 17:36, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

GAN reviewer is asking for all the Forbes sources to be changed over to any other reliable source. Could you give a look to the 'Hugh McIntyre' citations and change them over to another on-line source? ErnestKrause (talk) 17:11, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I can do that. Btspurplegalaxy (talk) 17:15, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I just re-did the one in the "Butter" section. There are a total of 6-7 McIntyre quotes from Fortune that need to be changed-out. Korean sources are fine for this. Also, all of the sections which use Billboard references need to be marked to 'subscription only' at this time if you are up to it. ErnestKrause (talk) 00:04, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I know ref. 209 can be removed but when I tried to delete it, it somehow did something to other sources. Do you mind removing it? Btspurplegalaxy (talk) 00:10, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just pulled that cite. It looks ok now. All the other McIntyre's need to come out also. ErnestKrause (talk) 00:17, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm on that. Btspurplegalaxy (talk) 00:29, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It appears that the GAN reviewer will not continue with the review until the Forbes McIntyre edits are removed, which I am removing today. You can add any information you have been preparing later when the GAN ends. I'm trying to keep the review process going at this time and have marked the removed McIntyre citations with the keyword "Abridge" in the edit history so that it should be easy for you to add them in later whenever they are ready. GAN should be able to move forward now that I have removed the McIntyre citations. ErnestKrause (talk) 16:52, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. Btspurplegalaxy (talk) 17:25, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

can you stop editing the pentagon page spreading misinformation and finally listen to actual pentagon fans who have been voicing their concerns ??? Sora101016 (talk) 16:01, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

user daisywon already provided proof including words coming straight out of kino's mouth during a livestream. if that's not enough I'm ready to provide even more evidence. this situation is spreading misinformation and hurting a lot of the fans about hui's position being erased. Sora101016 (talk) 19:53, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Pentagon edits

[edit]

No one is editing things because it's "not right for us." The members have stated multiple times, on variety shows, on vlives, etcetera, that they do not have anyone filling Hui's position as leader. It is incorrect to put Kino, or any other member that is not Hui, as the "leader." Source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daisyswon (talkcontribs) 16:10, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:PRIMARY. Twitter is considered a primary source. Until you're able to provide a reliable source supporting that info then it cannot be changed. Btspurplegalaxy (talk) 16:17, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Direct wording from an actual member of the group, February 2021. Direct audio clip of the section talking about who is the "replacement leader" with translations in the clip, [1] and direct link to entire vlive where this matter is discussed [2]. Timestamp 16:56, Kino says directly that he is not the leader but Hui is. Reverted your edit in Lovelyz

[edit]

Hello, please understand that I am writing a comment with the help of a translator because English is not my first language. (but not 100% translator)

The Korean Wikipedia is already talking about Lovelyz document and concluded that maintaining the current state, not saying Lovelyz is in disbandment, of the document. (but as Indefinite hiatus)

Woollim Entertainment didn't say that the group is disbanded. (just woollim mentioned that the contract period had ended) After all members, except the group's leader Baby Soul, decided not to renew their contracts and left Woollim Entertainment, but have stated that they haven't disbanded.

In short, it is in the same state as Girl's Day or Girls' Generation.--121.133.40.84 (talk) 15:51, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nice going at BTS GAN. Many editors like to place a GA-icon on either the top of their User page or at the top of their Talk page to show that they have edited a peer review article at Wikipedia. If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. ErnestKrause (talk) 00:09, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Totally agreed that it make zero sense, if so then enlighten me on why it make sense for (G)I-dle then??? Fyi, I'm pretty sure you edited it between September 14, 2021 and today (February 26, 2022) which is 200 days differences, in which you also uploaded a tweaked version of the cropped image by brightening up or something (this), hence I'm looking to heard your opinion on such while at the same time also other editors opinion so that I know what appropriate actions to take such as to revert or not to revert. I don't much know of what anyone else is doing but I just know it should be consistent for all group articles for those who have former members. I restored an older revision to have it set back to the 5 members. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 17:15, 26 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Btspurplegalaxy Ya, same thoughts, I'm reverted it back initially because I also feel there should be consistency for all articles (at least for K-pop ones since I'm only focused on that) but clearly other (maybe 1) feel otherwise which make me questioned myself if this is even right. Anyway ... thanks you for your opinion. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 17:17, 26 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

OrphanReferenceFixer: Help on reversion

[edit]

Hi there! I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. Recently, you reverted my fix to BTS singles discography.

If you did this because the references should be removed from the article, you have misunderstood the situation. Most likely, the article originally contained both <ref name="foo">...</ref> and one or more <ref name="foo"/> referring to it. Someone then removed the <ref name="foo">...</ref> but left the <ref name="foo"/>, which results in a big red error in the article. I replaced one of the remaining <ref name="foo"/> with a copy of the <ref name="foo">...</ref>; I did not re-insert the reference to where it was deleted, I just replaced one of the remaining instances. What you need to do to fix it is to make sure you remove all instances of the named reference so as to not leave any big red error.

If you reverted because I made an actual mistake, please be sure to also correct any reference errors in the page so I won't come back and make the same mistake again. Mononymously

[edit]

This ridiculous word has very recently been sprinkled across multiple acticles on Wikipedia. The idea of Wikipedia is that articles should be written in a language people understand, and not in passing buzz-words. Articles should be accessible to all readers and not just readers of fanzines. Francis Hannaway (talk) 07:33, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There's nothing wrong with it being used. You don't need to go around removing the word just because it's not something you like. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 07:42, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Btspurplegalaxy: Yes, you are right. And this is mentioned right in Wikipedia's Manual of style (MOS:PSEUDONYM), so in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with it. —Ctrlwiki (talk) 10:25, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

JK's Artistry

[edit]

Hi there! Do you have (or know of someone who has) information on JK's Artistry? I noticed that all of his bandmates have that in their pages. Thank you! 130.105.208.241 (talk) 06:07, 9 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Revert on the jimin article

[edit]

Hey, I just reverted you on the Jimin page. Nothing was wrong w your edit but I already editing the page when you did it and reverting was the easiest way to save my changes. Idk if you'll see that notif first or this one, but just wanted to lyk that it wasn't because of any problem with what you added! -- Carlobunnie (talk) 01:22, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 01:38, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

why did my changed on teamin's page got deleted?

[edit]

what was the problem because i dont understand on what right its taken back — Preceding unsigned comment added by Forshinee (talkcontribs) 10:58, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The problem was you placing a copyrighted image and the editing you were doing wasn't constructive. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 16:27, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
okay this is ridiculous. yesterday ive posted not copyrighted photo yet you changed it back.
what does eve mean 'what you edited wasn't constructive
the current photo is inappropriate for wikipedia page and you should know that well. everyone have serious official looking photos but for taemin you've decided to agree for a screenshot from a video edited with remini? are you an anti fan or something? how can i know what ur doing is constructive then?
the changes i did are more than fine
i literally created this damn account just to change the photos because he got freaking hate because of them so leave him and me alone and let me finally change it to right photo.
idk who u think u are but leave it alone omg Forshinee (talk) 14:30, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
im 21 i know how to hold people i like constructively and what i changed has nothing to do with it. Forshinee (talk) 14:31, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Had you provided an image that was freely licensed it would have been a different story. Anyone is welcome to edit whatever articles they want but there are guidelines in place and ones that you need to not only follow but familiarize yourself with. Please Help

[edit]

I am trying to make a article on Itzy Lia, but i am not able to do it properly could you help me Pri266 (talk) 07:22, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I will help assist you. Just to inform you, she wouldn't be notable to have her own article yet as she hasn't adventured into solo activities. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 07:28, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
But twice members seem to have their pages Pri266 (talk) 07:30, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There is enough for them to be notable since they have been in the industry for longer than the Itzy members. Most groups debuting around the same time as them do not even have their own articles. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 07:35, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What about the other itzy members Pri266 (talk) 07:32, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How do I add a new heading Pri266 (talk) 07:33, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'll look for the things that are needed for the draft. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 07:38, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
But the songs of itzy have a page Pri266 (talk) 07:43, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Those are two different things. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 07:45, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'll start on Lia's draft tomorrow. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 07:46, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am simply a fan of theirs, but I do not have any sort of connection to them. May I ask how you came to that conclusion? Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 14:35, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have helped in getting their page up to GA status and I have added news from time to time but nothing out of the ordinary. In general the focus of the articles I contribute to are Korean related ones. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 14:40, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

mark page

[edit]

Hey, just wondering why you undid my revisions. I felt like the section about Child was short and so I went and did my research to find things I could do to expand it. I get that my account is only a day old, but I am just trying to expand sections. This also happened to me with another article I revised. I just want an explanation on why you are undoing everything I have done on the page. 127squadfam (talk) 13:37, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ptd on stage page

[edit]

Hi, Just wondering why my edits were removed. I followed Carlobunnie’s advice as well. Monbmon (talk) 18:13, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You can add the information back, but don't add the Permission to Dance image as it's copyrighted. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 18:17, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. Also wondering where we can obtain a logo for the PTD ON STAGE tour (similar to Love Yourself tour page) without copyright issues? Monbmon (talk) 18:22, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

you can do it here at this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:File_Upload_Wizard&withJS=MediaWiki:FileUploadWizard.js&withCSS=MediaWiki:FileUploadWizard.css Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 18:25, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Okay, I hope this edit was finally ok :P Please take a look. I removed what you mentioned and therefore put the attendee number according to Billboard in the Background section (since it represents attendees from all PTD shows, not just a specific one, unless I need to move it somewhere else). Unfortunately I removed the PTD logo as carlobunnie did as well to be safe instead of sorry, haha. Monbmon (talk) 19:44, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Carlobunnie is also allowing me to describe the Vegas shows appropriately beneath 'Concerts' once I have time since I attended those. The photo of BTS on stage under the Los Angeles PTD section is my own from December 1 :) Thanks again for the tips - again I'm a new Wiki editor! Monbmon (talk) 19:48, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

April 2022

[edit]

Are you sure you want to delete the 7 nominations at 2022 Billboard Music Awards next month on BTS article? ErnestKrause (talk) 17:45, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I think it's more suited for List of awards and nominations received by BTS. It's likely already been added but you might want to double check. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 18:07, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've been giving some thought to a possible FAC nomination for the BTS article for promotion which has been fairly stable for the last few months, and possibly doing it as a contamination conomination. Any thoughts? ErnestKrause (talk) 14:41, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's ready for it so proceed with it. Could you also further elaborate on what you mean by contamination conomination? Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 15:12, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'll try to get it in for nomination this week. (The autocorrect spelling seems to give very poor results for typing "conomination"). ErnestKrause (talk) 15:24, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You mentioned it once before but I don't think I ever saw anything come of it. So how would it happen this time around? Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 15:27, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've started the FAC, which is different from the GAN which was done last time. The article should now be listed at WP:FAC and you should be able to see it at the top of the listing there. It might take more time for the FAC rather than the previous GAN based on the number of reviewers who respond to the listing. ErnestKrause (talk) 15:46, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The administrator of the FAC page has indicated that there is 2 weeks to re-edit the article and then to re-submit for review. The reviewing editors have indicated that they will need to see a new Impact section, which I have drafted and put in my sandbox here User:ErnestKrause/sandbox; you can re-edit, shorten, expand and modify it as to what you think works best, and then it can be put into the article when ready. It should be modeled on something like the Impact section in the featured article for Lady Gaga of about 5 paragraphs and about 50 citations. ErnestKrause (talk) 15:17, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

User:FrB just commented that the book "The Unofficial BTS Bible" might have some interesting material in it. Do you have access to it to possibly check it for useful material? ErnestKrause (talk) 16:19, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I will do that. I removed two of the paragraphs, as you'll see why in the edit summary. Now regarding the paragraph that mentions their endorsements, that is also included on their main page. It is currently a separate section for commercial endorsements. So do you intend to merge that into the section we're working on? Everything else can just be added in between when it is ready. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 03:50, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds good. Here is another article which you might glance at to see if it is useful to the article here: [2]. Your mark-ups for a new Impact section in sandbox I guess will need to decide if it is to replace the one which is currently in the article as "Cultural impact", or, if it should be added either before or after the current version in the article. ErnestKrause (talk) 18:09, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the paragraph that mentions their endorsements, as previously stated of it already being on the main page and can be moved to the proper place. The two paragraphs that are now left in your sandbox can also be added. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 18:36, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've gone ahead and added that paragraph into the Imapct section of the article. Any progress to look through the book "The Unofficial BTS Bible" mentioned above, in order to see if the article can benefit from this book? ErnestKrause (talk) 14:52, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't been able to access it. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 16:33, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is the other citation they asked to be looked at to see if there is something useful for the article (it is a slow loading file sometimes), possibly you can find something that works: [3] ErnestKrause (talk) 16:45, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the link to chapter one and two of "The Unofficial BTS Bible" can be accessed by clicking on the tab for "Look inside" by the image of the cover here: [4] ErnestKrause (talk) 17:02, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There's no rush on any of this, though maybe you might know if you can get to it this week or next week, just in approximate terms. I've updated my sandbox again to include an extra 2022 paragraph based on FrB comments on his Talk page, in case you can do further mark-ups. ErnestKrause (talk) 17:54, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Off topic but Has FrB even taken a look at the content of Cultural impact and legacy of BTS? I've seen where you added mention of BTS' contributions to SK's GDP and that article even touches upon the topic. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 23:38, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
FrB definitely has been told of it by you and by me; I'm still not entirely sure of where to draw the line between Korean wave issues and the BTS article itself. When you look at my sandbox, you can have a look and adjust the edit which I added there to deal with this briefly (one paragraph) for possible use in the Impact section of the BTS main article. Where you able to access those 2 chapters to the book which I previously linked above? ErnestKrause (talk) 23:51, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I clicked on it, and it let me view a sample of what I believe are the 2 chapters you're referring to. But of what I read, it didn't seem worth including. It mentioned a lot of behind the scene content of what has been uploaded to their YouTube channel (which is describing their interactions with Western artists they had in the earlier days of their US career). I think to fully utilize its content, I would have to have complete access to it. Unless, by some chance of what I read, I'm looking at it all wrong. Btspurplegalaxy 🗩 🖉 00:04, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My reading seems close to your reading; that book seems like a fan book for adulatory teenage readers with material already covered in the BTS article even though it was cited by the reviewers. What is your take on the new paragraph I have added in my Sandbox, and also the article which I linked above here (it may take 10-20 seconds to load): [[5]].
