Your report to AIV

[edit]

Please do not report vandalism unless you have first warned the user to stop. Typically users are not blocked unless they are warned four times (most people use these warning templates for convenience). Before using these templates, you should ensure that the edits are actually vandalism, however.

Other than that, Welcome to Wikipedia! You can let me know if you have any questions on my talk page. -RunningOnBrains(talk) 03:11, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Yeison Devoz has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. j⚛e deckertalk 17:07, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for contributing the new article Juan Camilo García. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources. Please help by adding more sources to the article you created, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the material (see here for how to do inline referencing). Many thanks! PS If you need any help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. GiantSnowman 17:32, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:David M Silva.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:David M Silva.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 02:47, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

VisualEditor

[edit]

Hey Brayan Sneider

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

The name of the football team Itagüí is not Talento Dorado for July 7

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. The name of the football team Itagüí is not Talento Dorado. Talento Dorado S.A. is the name of the company, not the equipment. Just as Albiazul is the company name of Millonarios, But Millonarios not called Albiazul called Millonarios. Likewise Itagüi not called Talento Dorado called Itagüi S.A.

Information icon Hi Brayan Jaimes. Thank you for your work on patrolling new pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for Demerson, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers and review the criteria for speedy deletion. Particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion or proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. Specifically, the article says he's competed in Brazil's "premier" football championship series -- plenty significant to avoid A7 deletion.Darkwind (talk) 08:57, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

List of players with the most goals in an association football game

[edit]

Apologies for my rather ham-fisted revert of your edit to List of players with the most goals in an association football game. The women's football (Helen Lander) part of your edit seems to be correct and I have restored it. However, every source I can find says that the Villa-Arsenal game in which Drake scored 7 finished 7-1 to Arsenal, not 12-0. --Jameboy (talk) 09:54, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on 1954 Campeonato Profesional requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, Brayan Jaimes. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, 2014 Categoría Primera A season, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ColonelHenry (talk) 05:14, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

David Ospina Caps

[edit]

Hey Brayan, The National Team Caps were a mess. I went off the FIFA Stats which have the Caps updated to the last World Cup Game. Ospina is listed as 49, plus the Friendly against Brazil on 9/5/14 would be 50. Shield187 (talk) 16:18, 13 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that source is reliable. The RSSSF 1 has the CAPs updated until the start of the World Cup. It would be 50 by that as well. 17:05, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

Thanks. The Federation should step up and modernize their web page. It's pathetically old and useless. 17:13, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

I went off the FIFA Official 1 which is updated to the last game of the World Cup. I would assume that FIFA has the exact number. I emailed Frank Ballesteros at RSSSF asking when he was going to update his list. Hopefully he replies. Shield187 (talk) 17:49, 13 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Brayan, I think I found the error. In 2011, he played 9 times. Not 8. You might be missing Match 474 against Senegal. Could you double check? 20:57, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

Sounds good. BTW if you use this imdb feature here You can find films of a given year from Colombia. Just change each url link to the year you're looking for. I suspect eventually we might need to split into List of Colombian films of the 1990s etc like the others but there's nothing wrong with anything under 120 kb on one page really.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:15, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting spelling of your name BTW. My first name is James and I'm from the UK which I'm sure you'd love!♦ Dr. Blofeld

Arnoldo Iguarán

[edit]

Hi,

We have a "problem" with the number of goals scored by Arnoldo Iguarán. Some sources say 24, others 25. The disagreement comes from the friendly match : USA 0-2 Colombia (14 May 1988). Your opinion ?

Hi,

Here an other source : http://www.futbolred.com/seleccion-colombia/noticias/marzo/los-numeros-de-arnoldo-iguaran-y-falcao-garcia/15471375

To them, he scores only one goal against USA. "1988: tres, uno frente a Estados Unidos (no dos, el otro es de Alexis García), uno frente a Finlandia y uno contra Uruguay."

Andres Renteria

[edit]

Hey Brayan, how's it going? I noticed you reverted my Andres Renteria International Goal section. I had changed the format, because I think it is easier to add more goals when the table coding is a single line instead of multiple lines like it is right now. Also, the Turkish location is incorrect as it shows Avignon in the name. I think my edit was legit, but let me know. Also I always think Centered tables look weird but that may just be me. Arnoldo Iguarán Record

[edit]

Brayan, what is the consensus of the Colombian All Time Goalscorer record? It looks like FIFA and the FCF have confirmed it is 25 goals for Iguaran. [1] Shield187 (talk) 22:35, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Brayan, the YouTube doesn't matter. If FIFA and the FCF have him down as 25 then he has 25. Even Mister Chip has confirmed its 25. Even if many years ago there was a mistake on who scored that day, the records have credited him with the goal. Unless FIFA officially changes his record to 24, his goal record stands at 25. Speedy deletion declined: 2013 Copa Presidente de la República

Hello Brayan Jaimes. Given the history of the creator and the way it was categorized and the countries included in the list, I agree it was probably meant as a hoax. I've PRODed it and will take to AFD if someone objects. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:13, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The article Belmer Aguilar has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Template:Football stadiums in Colombia

[edit]

Hello Brayan, I'm confused about this template that you created and what it is used for – firstly, it's not a template, and secondly, it's a duplicate of the existing List of football stadiums in Colombia. What is the (non-)template going to be used for? Richard3120 (talk) 19:47, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

OK, but I'm struggling to understand how and on which article pages it will be used – I mean, would it be added to Estadio El Campín, for example, so that any article relating to a stadium will include this long list of of the stadiums in Colombia? Because you can see that already includes Template:Categoría Primera A venues on it, which is a neater and more unobtrusive way to group all the stadiums together. Richard3120 (talk) 23:16, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh no, please don't misunderstand me, I never thought for a moment that you were intending to replace the navbox. I still don't understand how it's going to work, but you must know what you're doing - I look forward to seeing the finished article: anything that simplifies Wikipedia and keeps articles up to date is a good thing in my book! Richard3120 (talk) 02:10, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'll try and explain my puzzlement. As the first paragraph of Help:Template says, "A template is a Wikipedia page created to be included in other pages. Templates usually contain repetitive material that might need to show up on any number of articles or pages. They are commonly used for boilerplate messages, standard warnings or notices, infoboxes, navigational boxes, and similar purposes." On a standard article this is usually an infobox template and perhaps one or more navbox templates. So for Estadio El Campín we have Template:Infobox stadium and Template:Categoría Primera A venues for example; for Radamel Falcao there is Template:Infobox football biography and several navboxes, such as his inclusion in the 2011 and 2015 Copa America squads.
So what I don't understand is how Template:Football stadiums in Colombia will be added to other article pages: in its current form it will add the entire content of the page you have created to any article it is added to – in other words, if it is added to any article about a stadium, the article will also include a long list of all the stadiums in Colombia, which will probably swamp the subject of the article as most of them are currently only a line or two long. Richard3120 (talk) 16:36, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge ‎ has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:27, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Wondering why you made the reversions to the links at the List of accidents involving sports teams. The location of a link in a date to another article is not nearly as obvious as use of the more prominent Further template. The intention was to remove the comment "(Click on date for associated article)" when done. Please advise re your reasoning. Thanks and best regards. I don't understand the revert of my edit on Radamel Falcao. I don't feel an encyclopedia should label one person's opinion as more notable than another's without a WP:RS to back up that kind of language. I'd appreciate if you leave that edit in place. Thanks! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2017 Atlético Nacional season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Roderick Miller. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
