Is this the 64.228.225.xxx link-spammer with a new account
[edit]Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. The links you added to the page Hank Williams have been removed. Please do not add commercial links—or links to your own private websites—to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks.
Please see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Link-spamming from someone in the IP address block 64.228.225.xxx. You are restoring a spam-link which has been associated with the 64.228.225.xxx link-spammer and you are suspected of being associated with this group. Do not add any more of these links or you will move beyond the "suspicion" phase and find yourself blocked.

Some people spam Wikipedia without meaning to. That is, they do things which Wikipedians consider to be spamming, without realizing that their actions are not in line with building an encyclopedia. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.228.225.68 (talk • contribs) 21:48, 14 July 2006.
- Please consider that the articles we write are put together by thousands of volunteers working hundreds of thousands of hours over many months. Believe it or not, we do all this work so that such information might be freely available to millions of people around the globe ... not to promote your network of web sites.
- Edits from your block of IP addresses have tied up probably close to 20 hours of various volunteers' time over the last several months trying to track down and fix. (We don't always have the best tools for chasing link-spammers.)
- I hope you'll stick around to add real content.--A. B. 00:47, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message. The thought does cross my mind, however, that all my webpages provide a contact email address. A simple email to me from Wikipedia, would have saved all those hours of volunteer work. I would have gone in myself and deleted them right away, upon discovering that this method of website promotion is unacceptable to Wikipedia.org.
- I will certainly continue to add content to Wikipedia. I think that we've got a great thing going here, and should be guarded most zealously.
- Keep up the good work!

- Addenda: You see, what Wikipedia considers to be "Link Spamming", I considered to be "Website Promotion".
- Now, I am better informed. No harm done, I hope :)
- Everybody notices Wikipedia's high ranking on Google Searches....can we blame folks for 'wanting to get a piece of the pie?' We all like high traffic.

- Addenda No.2
- There is an undeniable 'parasitic connotation' in my last posting.
- The Wikipedia Administrators must also realize that sometimes the parasite performs valuable services to the host. Informative external links will enhance the value of the encyclopedia. Restrictions of various sorts, like discrimination against those who use free web-hosting provided by Angelfire, Geocities, or other reputable servers, is not conducive to a 'free dissemination of information', which Wikipedia strives to obtain.
- Just my humble opinion, of course.
