Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Blue Mountains Youth Council. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://www.bmcc.nsw.gov.au/yourcouncil/youthcouncil/ in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Blue Mountains Youth Council with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Blue Mountains Youth Council with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:Blue Mountains Youth Council saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 02:10, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices, as you did with Blue Mountains Youth Council. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. Dl2000 02:39, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. Dl2000 02:50, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Blue Mountains Youth Council.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Blue Mountains Youth Council.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:05, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

The Page

[edit]

I will help you as much as I can. The information you've been posting is in violation of copyright, and Wikipedia can't allow it on the page. Also, the tone of the article is an advertisement. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and the articles need to sound like encyclopedia articles. Below, I'll give you some helpful links. Pay particular attention to the Manual of Style

Welcome!

Hello, Blinddantt, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! --Milton 03:15, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

okBlinddantt 03:29, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

so where abouts are you?Blinddantt 03:32, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you can answer some questions for me, I can help. Do you know when the youth council was started? What does do? Why did you all join it? If you can give me some information that isn't on the youth council website (yes, I looked at it), we can try to make this a great article! --Milton 03:33, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

im not shore when it was started but i joined to give disable and indgunos youth a voice in the mountains the others joined becuse they wanted the youth to have a voice in local affairs and every thing is up in the air as we just cloaased nominations today and we have a new youth sevices development officer and two new youth council aviory commity mebers join Blinddantt 03:38, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, good. I'm not sure what time it is out there, but here, it's almost midnight, so when I go to bed in a few hours, I won't be able to work on the page for a few hours while I sleep. If you could talk to some of the members of your Advisory Committee, and have them put some information here, I can help get a good page up in a few days. It'll take that long, because there is a lot of things a page has to go through before it is a really good page. If you could let me know some information about when the council was started, that would be a good place to start. I hope, though, that you will be patient while we work on the page during the next day or so. --Milton 03:42, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

sorry about my bad spellingBlinddantt 03:44, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's not a problem, I can figure it out. If you could talk to some of your advisors, and get some information from them about the council, and put that information here, that would help. There's only so much I can do. --Milton 03:49, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

started in 2003 charter pased by council late 2002 structure Youth services devlopment officer(YSDO) chair vice chair media liason, fun coodintor youth councilors youth council advisory commity(adults)Blinddantt 03:58, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've finished the page. According to Wikipedia rules, you're not allowed to edit it, and some other people might keep you from doing so. If there's a problem, mention it here, and I'll look into it. I assume you're probably the council's website coordinator, so if you can get a website put up somewhere else, I can use it to work on the article. --Milton 04:06, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

we only have the one on the councils web site at the moment i am the youth councils mr technical be cuse i can use the computer fairly well i am doing this under the instruction of the vice chair and the YSDOBlinddantt 04:13, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you're technically not allowed by Wikipedia rules to edit a page that concerns you. If you want, I can show you how to create a subpage of this one, that you can do almost anything you want with. --Milton 04:15, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

okBlinddantt 04:17, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On your user page is a link to a sandbox page. That page will let you experiment with wikipedia as much as you want, and do just about anything, as long as it doesn't disrupt other things. --Milton 04:20, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

my ysdo has just rang me as its only 2 19 pm over hear she wants a list of the current youth councilors asap and she wants her job postion and name at the bottom Blinddantt 04:21, 31 May 2007 (UTC) her name is kelly watson (youth service devolopment officer)email is kwatson@bmcc.gov.nsw.au hear is the list • Joel Clark from Blackheath • Joshua Lee from Hazelbrook • Hahn Walker from Lawson • April Roy from Hazelbrook • Lucy Harte from Springwood • Kristen Blakers from Springwood • Lyzie Dash from Wentworth Falls • Anthony Fowler from Blaxland • Tobias Settree from Warrimoo • Andrew Lockie from East Blaxland • Kathleen Herbert from Katoomba • Laura Harris from Blaxland Blinddantt 04:26, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Again, that's not really what Wikipedia's for. You can put that information on your own page, but Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not just another webpage. --Milton 04:26, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

i kow but if that is not in there i may loose the seat of blaxland in the youth council as it is elections now and that is when the advisory commity has the power and i dont want the induonus or diabled youth to not be repriented in 07 08Blinddantt 04:30, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry that's the case, but Wikipedia isn't a political campaigning tool. You might want to look at some free webhosting sites. It doesn't sound like Wikipedia is able to do what you need it to. --Milton 04:32, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

i also know that but she wont aouthoris me to use any thing else.Blinddantt 04:39, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking into it. I want to help, I really do, but I need to follow Wikipedia policies. --Milton 04:45, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Creating accounts for the sole purpose of making an edit you aren't allowed to doesn't go over very well. --Milton 04:49, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

what are you talking aboutBlinddantt 04:55, 31 May 2007 (UTC) i dont have a clue as to what you are on about Blinddantt 04:57, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The page is now nominated to be deleted due to numerous edits that in violation of wikipedia policy. While it's not too late to keep that from happening, it will be soon if this continues. --Milton 04:58, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

what do you mean by some one deleating it but thats not fair when i did nothing it may have been another youth councilor that would be april all over Blinddantt 05:01, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's out of my hands, now. You're welcome to go vote on the deletion. --Milton 05:02, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I also find it suspicious that as soon I said I wouldn't put in a list of names, and the advisor, and that you weren't allowed to, an account was created that immediately did just that. Per WP:FAITH, I will refrain from telling you not to insult my intelligence. --Milton 05:09, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

that is considered an insult Blinddantt 05:13, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The page is being deleted for violating numerous Wikipedia policies. That's why I kept putting links to the policies in here, and on the page. I told you that the list of names didn't belong, and numerous other editors agreed. --Milton 05:18, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The page has been incorporated into the City of Blue Mountains page. The information regarding the Youth Council may be found there. --Milton 01:57, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for your help i manageed to get back in for a seconed term in office and sorry i havent been on of late but i have been busy with sportBlinddantt 23:17, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to hear you won. I saw below that there's been some more page creation problems. I gave you some links above in the Welcome part that will help you follow the rules. I hope that you will read them. Congratulations again --Milton 20:49, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay

[edit]
Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
