The replaceability is already defined and it passes the P1, where is the problem now? Would you care to explain? ItsAlwaysLupus (talk) 17:31, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
- A copyrighted image of a living person is usually considered replaceable since a free image could reasonably be found or created and neither the rationale, your objection or your statement here explains how the image is not replaceable. Aspects (talk) 13:44, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
- 1. According to the "Evelyn King (singer)" article, there is not a single source indicating that the person is still performing and/or alive
- 2. Sadly, I don't think it is possible to replace this image with a free version since there are no free images of this artist on the internet. ItsAlwaysLupus (talk) 21:43, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
You Lost Me
[edit]I have already disputed the extra cover art with Ending-start, in the rationale it says;
Main infobox. The image is used for identification in the context of critical commentary of the work for which it serves as cover art. It makes a significant contribution to the user's understanding of the article, which could not practically be conveyed by words alone. The image is placed in the infobox at the top of the article discussing the work, to show the primary visual image associated with the work, and to help the user quickly identify the work and know they have found what they are looking for. Use for this purpose does not compete with the purposes of the original artwork, namely the artist's providing graphic design services to music concerns and in turn marketing music to the public.
It makes no difference to the article, it adds nothing to the article, it is not commented at all! I cannot be bothered to go on, but I will remove it, any disputes talk to me, thanks --FeuDeJoie (talk) 20:49, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
Re: Tour edit revisions
[edit]It takes up unnecessary space on the page and there is unnecessary space is in the columns. Also the original columns were fine the way they were, not causing any problems. BobDylanFan1994 (talk) 19:37, 9 October 2011 (GMT)
- The only reason that I didn't with the 4th Dimensions Tour, I had done it once before but there had been other edits and I could not undo them all. The Above the Noise Tour 2011 would have been too much of a pain seeing as I am current doing another page.
- Thank you for the advise about "New section" tab. I didn't know that. BobDylanFan1994 (talk) 20:20, 9 October 2011 (GMT)

[edit]Why did you remove Like My Mother Does? It's clearly on the album. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 01:53, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
- I removed "Like My Mother Does" because as I explained in my edit summary, "Removed Like My Mother Does since it was a non-album single." Just because the song is on the album does not mean the single was released from the album. This is how all American Idol coronation singles have been expressed on Wikipedia. In the discography articles/sections the singles are listed as Non-album singles and the singles are not listed in the singles section of the album's infobox. I double checked and the only single not like that is Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This"/"Before Your Love", which I will now change to make them consistent with the other coronation songs. The Small Fonts
[edit]Maybe that you find it unnecessary, but I prepared the given site. Supplying the site, which is attached to him, with infos like that would be much cleverer instead of the editing of the table. - Looking at your user page, I see that you are Hungarian and English is probably not your first language, but I am really having trouble trying to figure out what you are trying to say in this sentence. If you could try explaining it in a different way, I would appreciate it. Aspects (talk) 21:48, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
There is nothing on WP:MOSJP that forbids the use of stylization of text within the Template space. In fact, I do not think there is any rule anywhere on this project that forbids stylization outside the article space. The manuals of style do not say anything about covering templates.—Ryulong (竜龙) 19:12, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
I have raised this for discussion.—Ryulong (竜龙) 19:22, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
- As I explained above the last time you left a message on my talk space, "Under the section, Capitalization of words in Roman script, it states "However, these names and name elements are not excluded from the guidance provided by the main manuals of style for English-language Wikipedia, listed above. Words should not be written in all caps in the English Wikipedia." Templates are part of Wikipedia and should also follow the guidance. Also in my experience piped links should not use a different style than the title of the article being linked to." I waited for about two and a half weeks for you to respond and when you did not, I reverted with the edit summary of "rv capitalizations per WP:MOSJP, "Words should not be written in all caps in the English Wikipedia." as explained on my talk page and not responded to". It was explained to you in two different places and yet a month later you reverted without any edit summary. I will repeat most of the information at the discussion you started.
- As to reverting my redirect of a song that fails WP:NSONGS, [1], and reverting my reverts back to correct capitalizations per WP:MOSTM, [2], since none of these edits had edit summaries explaining why you are reverting or starting a discussion, I am going to revert because I provided edit summaries explaining my edits and now that a discussion is started here, I hope that you discuss your edits instead of simply reverting mine. Aspects (talk) 19:40, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
TRANSTIC NERVE
[edit]The band was known by the stylized name "TRANSTIC NERVE". It does not make sense to omit this stylized name from The Underneath (band) just because it is in all caps, rather than having "Transtic Nerve" and "TRANSTIC NERVE" on the page. Also, stylization of song titles is not necessary to keep correcting, particularly if we keep having to argue over it.—Ryulong (竜龙) 04:08, 9 November 2011 (UTC)
- I do not see what is so hard to use standard English capitalizations on the English Wikipedia. The stylization of band names and song titles needs to be corrected if they are against the Manual of Style. And if you are going to start a discussion on a Wikipedia talk discussion based on some of my edits, I would appreciate it if you would let me know about it. Aspects (talk) 07:10, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
WPB Tour (Slayer)
[edit]Man, Slayer only one times in November, not three. Be watching it what you edit. Example: Official Slayer site or Setlist — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marci87 (talk • contribs) 08:27, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
- I find it funny that you are telling me to watch what I edit when you were the one who first added the dates for the 4th-6th, [3]. I noticed that you deleted the dates without an explanation, so I added them back and fixed the table to reflect the dates. I am not going to add back the dates, now that I know you added them incorrectly. Aspects (talk) 07:24, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
- My first added dates: not officially, just confirmed (nov 4-6). Later, the official date: nov 6 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marci87 (talk • contribs) 20:34, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
Wave dash
[edit]I find this formatting as superfluous, as it is not like the W-B-X (W-Boiled Extreme) case where the tildes/wave dashes are apparently a stylization because the manual of style as it currently goes, forbids the usage of the tilde/wave dash to indicate the subtitle.—Ryulong (竜龙) 09:44, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
Section break
[edit]Why the heck did you remove the section break? It is needed because the discussion is very long, and your comment makes a nice place to put it.—Ryulong (竜龙) 04:36, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
- I explained why I removed the section break in my edit summary, while you did not explain why you added in in the first place. The section break is not necessary and as it appears I added the section break, it can be seen as refactoring my post. If you want to add a section break with your own comment, you can do that but please stop making it look like I did something that I did not do. Aspects (talk) 04:50, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
- The section break is necessary because the thread is very large. Placing it above your comment is not refactoring your post. I am putting it back.—Ryulong (竜龙) 05:17, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Hatnote for "You Don't Belong (Two Dollar Grey song)"
[edit]Dear Aspects: I placed a hatnote for "You Don't Belong (Two Dollar Grey song)" on the Leave This Town article, because people may search for "You Don't Belong" to find Two Dollar Grey's debut video (which now has significant content). Additionally, a disambiguation page for "You Don't Belong" would only include two articles as of right now. If a hatnote is not appropriate, what would be an appropriate method of assisting readers in reaching "You Don't Belong (Two Dollar Grey song)"? Please reply on my talkpage, or place a "talkback" icon at the same location. Thank you very much.--Jax 0677 (talk) 01:54, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
Templates
[edit]I thought you were going to not edit the template again concerning this discussion. And, again, nothing on WP:MOS-JA, nor any of the other manuals of style, suggests that the stylization of text within templates is forbidden.—Ryulong (竜龙) 20:01, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
I've raised this issue at WT:MOS.—Ryulong (竜龙) 20:10, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- I looked at the edits and noticed that you changed most of the links to not be all in capital letters except for the "Black" one. I thought this was an oversight on your part missing this single one, so I changed it to match all of the other links in the template. Is there a particular reason you left "Black" in all caps and not the others?
- I will also reply with something at WT:MOS. Aspects (talk) 20:17, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- "The First" had an English release, and "The Next" is its sequel. Japan has "仮面ライダーBLACK" the TV show and "仮面ライダーBlack" the manga adaptation of that TV show. It is a minor stylization to show the difference (even though only one article exists now).—Ryulong (竜龙) 20:26, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

WP:NUMERO
[edit]WP:NUMERO indicates that # is not to be used. Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle says nothing about adding your own preference. Please don't start an edit war over this. If you had known the correct policy earlier I wouldn't have made that change and others. Feel free to discuss now. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:45, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
- When I was discussing WP:BRD, it was that you had a BOLD edit that was slightly reverted and I wanted you to start a discussion instead of reverting back. I explained why number should be used instead of No. and your response that No. should be used since it was there first, for a whole four days, is not acceptable in my opinion since it was short amount of time. Mandisa's other articles use number instead of No. and No. is not commonly used in American English as can be seen in Numero sign. Since you even argue that either could be used, number should be used for the reasons above. Aspects (talk) 17:07, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

I can not understand why you delete CNBlue music program winner and about you think as incorrect capitalizations
[edit]Almost every korean music act added music program table win in the artist wikipedia article see Girls Generation and Super Junior and music program winner not a single chart like you said because in the table i never mention about number in chart just as winner in music program. I do not think CNBLUE as incorrect capitalizations, CNBlue name used to write as CNBLUE because every single letter in B.L.U.E represent each member characteristic not to be use as Blue colour. Please do not edit that again if you can not give a better reason. Thanks, Kimsumire (talk) 02:13, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

flagcons in settlement infoboxes
[edit]Aspects, in looking at the infobox settlement template example Template:Infobox_settlement#Example and template documentation Template:Infobox_settlement/doc, I see flag icons ( Michigan and the US) posted. (They are in the template example for Detroit, but not in the actual article.) I agree that the icons clutter the info box, but shouldn't the template be changed as well? The discussion for the template (Archive 19) did not seem to resolve the question. --S. Rich (talk) 19:38, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
- It looks like Carlossuarez46 removed the information about not using flagicons with an edit summary of "policy matters are not properly documentation material" and added the flagicons with an edit summary of "update from current version of article" in the example in a couple of edits back in December 2011, [4]. Seeing how the edit summary does not really explain the deletion I am going to revert the changes. Aspects (talk) 20:27, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Removal of charts
[edit]The guidelines of WP:CHARTS only applies to music charts concerning sales and certifications, as well as positions in international and national rankings. The charts on pages MBLAQ, Brown Eyed Girls etc. are television charts and have nothing to do with music charts. The artists are winning an award on a show. Technically, these are therefore awards charts, and according to Wikipedia standards they abide by format, regulation, and rules. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Littleskittles (talk • contribs) 03:59, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
Stop removing matter from the the encyclopedia
[edit]It seems you are on a misguided rampage to remove items contra practice to impose a fait accompli on the encyclopedia. Flag icons have routinely included in settlements as has been discussed at WP:GEOGRAPHY, with the page change to reflect that. The documentation included the "don't put icons" in because of a bug that has long ago been fixed. Read the documentation and history rather than jumping in following things to the letter where you don't understand. Now that you have been educated, further removals of flag icons or charts will be taken as vandalism. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 17:06, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
- I simply have removed flagicons from the settlement infoboxes as the documentation has stated for three years. Your edit summary of "policy matters are not properly documentation material" did really explain your removal and since there was no talk page discussion to back it up, I reverted your BOLD edit. I looked through Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Geography and the only discussion involving flagicons in settlement infoboxes is one that was started today regarding your edits so there seems to be no basis for adding "Note: MOS:FLAG does not apply to geographic infoboxes" to the project page. I stand by my edit summary there of "Removed note that has no talk page discussion to back it up and most of the infobox specifically say not to see flagicons" since there was no discussion and some of the infoboxes specifically state not to use them. Also you should read through WP:VANDALISM since this edit, [5], is not vandalism and removing flagicons in the future would not be vandalism.
- I guess I should have been more specific when in my edit summary when I said you should discuss instead of reverting, because I was hoping you would start a talk page discussion there and if a consensus was reached, then the documentation could change. Instead you left me a note here, basically calling me stupid and telling me I would be a vandal if I removed any more flagicons, so instead of a discussion here you were trying to squelch any of my future attempts in this area. I am going to revert back to the stable edition that has said not to use flagicons for three years until such time there is a consensus that the information should be removed. I am also going to remove the flagicons from Detroit since that is the example used and it should match what the documentation states. After that I will not remove any flagicons from settlements and I ask that you do not add any flagicons to settlements until some discussion occurs and hopefully a consensus is formed. Aspects (talk) 01:42, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
- Your warning is further proof of your vandalistic tendencies - as you know a discussion is ongoing and was when you posted your warning. Further disruption will result in you being blocked, since you think that's the way to solve things. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 17:26, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
- You had made three reverts in a 24-hour period and I was reminding you that another revert could result in you being blocked. At the point that I left the message two editors expressed interest in the discussion being moved to Template:Infobox settlement. I would advise you that in the future if you make a BOLD edit and it gets reverted, that you need to be the one to start a discussion and leave the page/template the way it was before your BOLD edit until there is a consensus to make the change instead of continually reverting.
- I suggested above that you read through WP:VANDALISM and it appears that you have not, since you keep calling me a vandal. I now view this as a personal attack because I have explained how my edits are not vandalism. If you cannot keep calling my edits vandalism, then I want you to longer leave messages on my talk page. Aspects (talk) 17:04, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
- Seems to me that if the technical issue for keeping icons out of the settlement infobox was resolved, it should be a simple matter to revise the documentation. E.g., we delete the line that says "don't put flagcons here". User:Plastikspork has had a long and continuing role in keeping the documentation up to date. Let's contact Plastispork. (Also, the discussion on GEOPROJECT did not focus on the question of revising the template or MOS -- I sought to focus on whether a Project page footnote was the proper place to post WP:GUIDELINES.) --S. - For navigational templates, the article should be directly linked in the template for it to be in the article. For these film articles, they are indirectly linked through the film years, so they should not be included in the articles themselves. Adam Lambert Freddie Mercury/Queen + Adam Lambert at Sonisphere
[edit]Aspects i just noticed your elimination of the word "soaring" in the description of the way the two vocalists' voices are compared. i do not think it is a weasel word, as i understand it. this is not a statement of opinion or simple description but rather the most precise aspect of their voices/the basis upon which the two are compared -- when language is not being used sloppily. as it reads now, i believe it is incorrect. not all of adam's vocals are compared to freddie's, and vice versa. the lower register is not similar, it is only the "soaring" vocals that are. it is no different from using (for e.g.) "high vocals" -- except that "soaring" is the word that is applied more frequently (and appropriately) to describe both. if you were to google either of their names (or both) and soaring vocals, you would get many responses. the term is not being used to mean terrific or beautiful vocals, but rather to highlight what they uniquely share. i'm not that familiar with all the wiki rules, so let me know if i am out of line. i'm going to revert it and respectfully ask that you take it to adam's talk page before you revert again.
also - in the paragraph about the adam + queen appearance at sonisphere: i was trying to slowly eliminate some of the verbiage particularly as circumstances changed (with the cancellation) -- but the situation is still in flux. i think as it reads now it is inaccurate and here's why. sonisphere knebworth has been cancelled -- not sonisphere the festival. there are several dates still scheduled in europe (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/sonisphere-cancellation-nixes-adam-lambert-and-queen-gig-20120329) -- and that is why i specified knebworth. in addition, the moscow concert appears to be on, and it is not part of the sonisphere group of festivals in any case. we'll have to wait and see if it is or isn't a go. overall then, i'm aware that the situation is somewhat in flux and am trying to keep it updated -- but also keep its importance (and size) commensurate with events -- as it's still possible another venue will be found for a queen + AL appearance. i'm going to add back in info that clarifies -- and makes the read less awkward. i hope you agree and will be flexible, as events will continue to unfold. thanks you. Jordan200 (talk) 05:01, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- I am sorry, I used the wrong term to describe the word, I meant to use WP:PEACOCK. "Soaring" in this article is not being used to describe a part of the human voice, which I have never heard as a term, but is being used to describe the voice itself. Since this term is not sourced, it looks like WP:Original research. If there are reliable sources that use this term in comparison to Mercury's voice, then you should be the one to find and add it to the article to back up the term. Since you are the one who thinks the term should be in the article, the WP:Burden is on you to find the source and add it to the article. As for the Sonisphere sentences. I was trying to clean up the sentences based on how they were written. If I did so incorrectly, I apologize. Aspects (talk) 22:22, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

[edit]I don't see any benefit for the reader from having the cities in a consistent "city, state" format. The names of US city articles differ in their format because after discussion, it was felt that for well-known cities, the state was superfluous (e.g. Chicago - there's only one Chicago of any significance, and probably more people know about Chicago than know about Illinois, so adding the state doesn't help anyone). The articles for lesser-known or ambiguous cities (e.g. Portland, Jackson) do include the state. Colonies Chris (talk) 14:09, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
