November 2019

[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Afrotropical realm, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please note self commentary is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. BRD

[edit]

Hi, could I ask you please to observe WP:BRD on Mimicry. So far you have now twice made the same deletion, despite the fact you know it is contested. It is not acceptable to go on like this: effectively you are trying to force things through rather than discuss, despite the fact that a) you were invited to do so, and b) BRD states that the onus is on you, the person who wishes to make a change, to initiate the discussion. I do hope this is clear. Per status quo ante, I will now put the article back to its initial state, and I will initiate the discussion for you. If you want to move the image, you could of course have done so directly, rather than just deleting by reflex. Wikipedia does require better of its editors. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 18:09, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:45, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
