Your userpage

[edit]

I've locked your userpage for two days so maybe you'll kick the habit. It's for your own good as a contributor to the encyclopedia. I hope you don't take this the wrong way. Thanks, --Maxim(talk) (contributions) 22:33, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think you're blocked. I simply prevented you from editing your userpage. Maxim(talk) (contributions) 22:38, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not saying you blcoked me Maxim. Someone did. I don't know why?--Angel David 22:39, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, you're not blocked, just on the verge of it. YДмΔќʃʀï→ГC← 10-26-2007 • 22:41:31
Not that guys. Check my log above. I'm blocked!--Angel David 22:42, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've changed the block to 8 hours, adding goatse links is just stupid, David. I talked to the blocking admin, and we agree on this length. Maxim(talk) (contributions) 22:45, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

8 hours is appropriate? I was going to suggest indefinite. I don't care if it's mischief or carelessness, but there is no excuse for this. Friday (talk) 22:46, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can tell it was an accident, says that someone else put it there, and he just thought that it was a mistake they undid his page or something. That's just my interpretation. What's the deal about whatever anyways? YДмΔќʃʀï→ГC← 10-26-2007 • 22:49:44
Yes, someone else put it there first. Why would an editor put back trolling of that nature? If he's going to edit without understanding what he's doing, then there's a serious problem. Friday (talk) 22:53, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But by no means a reason for an indefinite block. A.Z. 22:57, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Please, Unblock me! I meant no harm. It was an accident. I'm sorry and I mean it. Just unblpck me. I'll do anything you want!

Decline reason:

As much as I'd like to believe you in claiming that you mean no harm, I'm afraid edits such as this really doesn't do much to boost my confidence in restoring your ability to edit Wikipedia. Sit this one out, and we'll see how you do when the block expires. Anthøny 22:59, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

No I'm serious please. I really mean no harm. I'm not a vandal. You can check my contributions! I reverted vandalism. I'm saying the truth. Please unblock me.--Angel David 23:01, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Personaly I would unblock you for a simple accident, but I can't and I'm in no position to critisize... How'd you find that page anyways?YДмΔќʃʀï→ГC← 10-26-2007 • 23:11:51
Why did you do that, David? Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 23:28, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed the mountain of Userboxes you've made...

[edit]

Perhaps you may want to just import them, instead of creating a mountain of subpages with them, to one central location.

I'm still blocked

[edit]

What's going on! I've been autoblocked! What does that mean?--Angel David 15:56, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you should concern yourself more with the requests for clarification of your editing, just a couple sections above. You did something rather bizarre, and some editors have asked you why you did it. Friday (talk) 15:58, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So you blindly reverted without looking at the content you were putting back? Sorry, but we cannot have editors doing that sort of thing. How did you even find that page? If you see something you don't understand do not just undo it. Accept the possibility that perhaps whoever did it had a good reason for doing so. Friday (talk) 16:05, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) You've been hardblocked, and in such mannor, your IP address was blocked to prevent a bypass (oops broke the rule) I'll put the unblock template below, but you've got to remove the tl| before it. YДмΔќʃʀï→ГC← 10-27-2007 • 16:02:48
I think I've lifted the autoblock, check plz. Maxim(talk) (contributions) 16:08, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry about the article, but I wanted to keep you out of even more trouble. I've done something that might help out with that (finding the article), but to get it, click edit this page

Though it may be foggy to notice, but I am trying to help you. You will never fully loose an article in my hands, (if you got the hints). It's to stop your binge of userpage edits. I won't stoop so low as to have your prefixindex salted and pages protected, but you've got two things - if you get to be an admin, undelete them, and if you caught my hints, you've still got them, but will loose them if you work on them. I know what persecution feels like.YДмΔќʃʀï→ГC← 10-28-2007 • 00:53:34

Well David, I wish I hadAWB too, but I've got to stick with VP (no complicated regester, will even download to a flash drive), if you run Firefox like I occasionaly do, just click the warn button instead of remembering the templates. I'm not sure if TW's Warn still works, but you've got TW from User:Yamakiri on Firefox. I'm tired at 6, so...YДмΔќʃʀï→ГC← 10-29-2007 • 11:03:07

Well, do you have a USB Flash Drive (E:\\)? A floppy? A CD (don't know how it'll work on a CD)? That's all you need for VF, I assume VP could fit on one of these too, for it's based off of VF and some other things. AWB, I'll check, I wish I had AWB though... YДмΔќʃʀï→ГC← 10-29-2007 • 22:02:56

It's probably best if you refrain from putting speedy delete tags on pages, or nominating them for deletion. The nomination you made at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Why Wikipedia is not so great was not very reasonable. Friday (talk) 18:14, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Editing templates

[edit]

Howdy. It's probably not a good idea for you to go around editing templates without getting consensus first. Templates potentially affect a large number of articles. In particular, it looks like other editors don't know why you want an image in Template:God. Putting images in there with no explanation other than "please don't remove it" is not very reasonable. We don't determine content by who pleads- we determine content by consensus. You shouldn't go around adding pictures just because you like them. If you want nice pictures, please put them on your own user page instead. Friday (talk) 17:22, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Happy birthday!

Thank you for your good tidings on my talk page. I didn't know it was your birthday. Well, I didn't even know you at all until now! So forgive me when I come without a flashy gift. Maybe a little German saying about angels, which many years ago my then girlfriend told me, and which has helped me in life since. It's a pun, so it's not so easy to translate, and I'll give you the German first:

Warum können Engel fliegen? Weil sie sich leicht nehmen.

Why is it that angels can fly? Because they take themselves lightly (meaning: not so seriously). - All the best, and enjoy your flying, — Sebastian 07:51, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi David, I haven't been around in a while, but I've got a few things to tell you. I'm going to probably stay as active as I have been in the last week and a half, but I was User:Susan Walton User:KkrouniUser:Douglas Bradford Oliver and a few others, though I didn't posess my friend in real life cowboy rocco's account. Also, don't watch the golden compass, the author is atheist (and I know you're orthodox Catholic), and in the end, the children kill God, and since you're Catholic, you've probably heard at Church. There's something called WP:USER that gives us the power to take off racist and offensive userboxes. I've had that used on me around 6 times, so why not use it myself. I took that userbox on that guy's page off. Is it wierd that I just go around through everyone's contributions that I see? Silver seren did the same thing... re:Jesus image

[edit]

Actually, no, I don't understand why you would attempt to edit war over this. And if you don't want to cause any trouble, I don't understand why you would re-insert controversial material before there is consensus. Have you ever read WP:BRD? If you make a bold edit, you shouldn't be shocked if you are reverted. You should, instead, go to the talk page and explain your edit. However, you have not made one comment to the talk page. We have been discussing images, and there very well may end up being a consensus for your image. However, it is premature to make that judgement. I ask you to please revert yourself, make your case on the talk page, and wait a few more days to see how things turn up before you go inserting a disputed image. Thanks for your consideration.-Andrew c [talk] 14:13, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the self-revert. I think because today is a holiday in many places around the world, there may be less editing than usual, so I personally would still give it another day or two, since most of this discussion took place yesterday and the day before. You are still welcome to make a comment yourself on the talk page. It may help if you explain why exactly you added the image, what you like about it, and perhaps try to address the issues raised by the ones who were more wary of the image. As you can see, there isn't an exact clear consensus yet on what users feel is the best image. Thanks again.-Andrew c [talk] 14:57, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I think User:SlimVirgin has dealt with it a bit. Basically you need to read something like this http://uk.security.yahoo.com/protect-your-privacy/safe-communications-online.html scroll down a bit and it gives details for websites and messageboards, etc which would also apply to wikipedia. Don't ever if you can help it post your full name, plus home town or other info which could identify you on a public site, where everyone can read it. Even most adults wouldn't feel happy doing so themselves, as there are some real wrong'uns about! Of course most people are lovely, but you need to take care of what you post on the internet. Hope this helps. Merkinsmum 00:29, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your change to the level one vandalism template

[edit]

Hi Angel David. I started a thread at WT:UTM to discuss your change to the vandalism template. I believe there was some discussion on a similar vein a while back, but the consensus may change.--Kubigula (talk) 03:04, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(transcribing from my talk page...) Am I in trouble?--User:Angel David (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) 02:27, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not at all. You were bold, and that's usually encouraged. In this case the consensus seems to be against your change, but no-one is suggesting you did anything wrong.--Kubigula (talk) 02:37, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I should add that there is some sentiment that, due to their widespread use, there may ought to be some more restriction on editing some of the warning templates. Perhaps proposing substantive changes to these templates first would be a good idea. However, this was not discussed before your edits, and you were certainly acting in good faith.--Kubigula (talk) 02:52, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rudget!

[edit]
Dear Angel David, my sincere thanks for your support (which was nicely worded :P) in my second request for adminship, which ended with 113 supports, 11 opposes, and 4 neutral. I would especially like to thank my admin coach and nominator, Rlevse and Ryan Postlethwaite who in addition to Ioeth all inspired me to run for a second candidacy. I would also like to make a special mention to Phoenix-wiki, Dihyrdogen Monoxide and OhanaUnited who all offered to do co-nominations, but I unfortunately had to decline. I had all these funny ideas that it would fail again, and I was prepared for the worst, but at least it showed that the community really does have something other places don't. Who would have though Gmail would have been so effective? 32 emails in one week! (Even if it does classify some as junk :P) I'm glad that I've been appointed after a nail biting and some might call, decision changing RFA, but if you ever need anything, just get in touch. The very best of luck for 2008 and beyond, Rudget. 15:23, 12 January 2008 (UTC) [reply]

Stop harassing other users like you are at User talk:Saccerzd. Users are allowed to remove warnings from their talk page. I knew you'd type angle one day! I did that with you for months. Anyways, this is it: {{doppleganger|Angel David}} There is no way to "transform" an account, but you could have it blocked or stop using it. It makes little difference, but unless you're an admin and tell everyone in any post (that was a hyperbole of course) then you'll probably get convicted of sockpuppetry. Yamakiri TC H§ 01-13-2008 • 23:16:43

This may be very useful for you. You may want to {{db-userreq}} your userpage, AFTER copying the contents of it and then put it back up to delete 99% of your userspace edits. I'm not sure how other people think of this (admins in particular) but it'll also kill a chunk of your lump contributions. Boy, my Spanish is better than my English... BTW I have something to tell you if you enable email (semi-private). Yamakiri TC § 01-14-2008 • 23:00:14
Angel David, ignore that "advice". Admins won't delete your user page just so you can "game the system" so you seem like a more productive user. Metros (talk) 23:02, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
For a user who's considering having his user page deleted all together, you're focusing a little too much on it right now. Metros (talk) 23:40, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's why I said "copy then delete". Please don't harass us, Metros. Yamakiri TC § 01-15-2008 • 02:31:41
Yeah, I saw where you said that. So basically you're saying "take the hundred edits you've made to your user page, copy it, delete it, then restore it all in just one edit instead of hundreds." That's inappropriate. Metros (talk) 02:37, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Offensive Irony

[edit]

Thanks for your comments. But it was actually someone else, with the intent to vandalize my page, who typed that over a year ago. At first, I was annoyed. Then I thought it ironic, and decided to keep it. "Maybe some discussion would come out of it", I thought. Little did I know, it turned out to be true. I am not here to insult anyone, but I like humour, especially the irony from things like this.

However, may I ask, how did you come across my page? Did you see me or my edits in a discussion? Or were you randomly looking for a fight, to "prove" your beliefs? I know many religious people who like to play the victim.

May your beliefs make you be strong, and to help others, even if we don't share the same views.

Happy New Year.

War of Heaven

[edit]

As silly as it sounds, it's WP:OR to announce that no angels died because we assume them to be immortal. Because none of the "primary sources" (Bible, Milton, Popes, etc) ever said that none died, "unknown" is a better moniker than "N/A Immortal". On a theological level, it's even been debated whether or not angels are immortal, Ezekiel 28 for example refers to angels being destroyed and "shall never exist again" - but the alternative is in Luke 20, where Jesus says that after the resurrection there will be no death because we will all be "as angels". It's a debateable point, whether or not angels can be destroyed - so it's better leaving "casualties" as "unknown" rather than imposing our personal interpretation of the event and 'announcing' that it's impossible for angels to die. It's up to the readers' individual interpretation of the Bible, whether or not they believe angels are immortal :) I hope this helps! Why I undid your edit

[edit]

I was not fond of you editing my post in a way I felt gave an implication I did not desire to make. And I find it even more annoying that you felt the need to repeat your offense once I came by and undid it.

Elohim is but one word in Hebrew for God, just as Allah is but one name for God in Arabic. If you wanted to be specific regarding the name of God in both languages, it would be יְהֹוָה and الله respectively. But as I was speaking in English, and referring to one specific Being, I did not want it to be linked to two separate articles when I was referring clearly to God, the subject of the article.

Please refrain from editing others' comments in the future. May you go in God's care. Peter Deer (talk) 00:24, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear David,

sorry to bring up an unpleasant issue, but I am finding User:Ilkali high-handed and unpleasant. Even comments that do not include put-downs express a kind of superior attitude. He uses wikilawyering, quoting a few different tangential guidelines and won't take reasonable or sourced replies that show him to be wrong. I'm no expert, but he seems to counter-attack when wrong to mask his rushing to judgement when he doesn't really understand issues or policies.

I've warned him for multiplying tangents, which is time-wasting trolling, and no longer argue with him past one or two replies. I'd be interested to know if you could prove me wrong about all this. I'd like to know he has been a constructive editor and been co-operative in other contexts.

Regarding your userspace edits

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia.
While we appreciate that you enjoy using Wikipedia, please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a free webhosting service. Wikipedia is not a place to post personal content, host personal websites, or do things that are not directly related to adding to or improving the encyclopedia. Off-topic material may be deleted at any time. This message is not meant to discourage you from editing Wikipedia but rather to remind you that the ultimate goal of this website is to build an encyclopedia. Thank you.

I'd like to note that 67% of all your edits are going to your userspace. This gives the impression you wish to have a homepage rather than a workspace. While it is okay to use the userspace, you're abusing it. I've been informed you're on the verge of a block if your habits keep up. Please come on the IRC for us to discuss this further. edit to Phineas

[edit]

Hey, just a quick pointer. The "if you mean..." tags are normally only used when there are very few things else that you could possibly be looking for; the Anathema article, for example, has one to Anathema (band) since it's unlikely to be anything other than those two articles. If you look at the disambig for Phineas you'll see 20-odd other pages, any of which a user could be looking for, so the "do you mean...?" thing for a childrens TV character is not really appropriate.

I replied to your message on the Antichrist talk page, by the way. Ironholds 21:42, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, fellow Christian and Wikipedia! I am so, so happy and honored for this chance for us to talk. If you need anything, or if you simply want to chat, I am right here for you, pal! Also remember, to spread the joy! Wikipedia may not be the most cheerful place to be, but YOU can help make it more cheerful! Have a fantastic day, and God bless! ^_^

P.S. I noticed an Unencylopedia external link on your user page. Please, though I know the site is considered, like, lol funny to lots of people, should it be used a source? (And, come on, its mockery of God Himself is a bit too extreme for me; I mean, seriously, who would spend their time making entire articles laughing at religion?) Do you like Unencylopedia, and, if so, why? Thanks! Celestialwarden11 (talk) 21:01, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:47, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Hadephobia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources, probably a neologism, looks like it was created to push a POV (I do think that too many only claim to follow their own religion out of fear of a bad afterlife, it is still just an opinion)

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
