Information icon Hello, Alezonin. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.

Hi - hopefully you have read the WP:COI guidelines in the above template by now. Please can you confirm whether you have any connection to the subject described at SocioViz? If you do, there are certain steps that you are required to take in terms of disclosing your connection, and certain expectations of you with regards to editing in areas where you have a COI. Thanks GirthSummit (blether) 16:47, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  MER-C 15:22, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Alezonin, I received your e-mail. My advice would be to read the guide to appealing blocks, and then to request an unblock here using the template shown in the block notice. You will need to explain that you understand why you were blocked - basically, you were editing in an area where you had a conflict of interest, and giving the impression of writing an article to promote a product - and that you are willing to comply with our COI guidelines in future. If you are unblocked, ensure that you make the required disclosure of your COI on your userpage, and that you write any article about a subject where you have a COI as a draft and put it through the AfC process rather than creating it directly in article space. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 15:39, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

When I created the SocioViz page I had no intention to write promotional content. I'm only a beta tester and use the tool in academic research and teaching

Decline reason:

This is not what you are claiming here or here. There, you claim to be the copyright owner of socioviz content. Were you attempting to mislead us there, or are you attempting to mislead us now? You've been writing about socioviz for more than four years now. This is a bit hard to believe if you have no conflict of interest. Yamla (talk) 15:23, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

In response to Yamla These are screenshot from website. Other software related pages use screenshots from their websites. Unfortunately I still don't understand. Alezonin (talk) 15:32, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You explicitly noted you owned those two images. That would not be the case if you simply took a screenshot of someone else's work. --Yamla (talk) 15:38, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Nor if you simply downloaded the content. --Yamla (talk) 15:41, 30 July 2019 (UTC

In response to Yamla So how to correctly attribute the images? Or I have simply to delete them? I'm not searching for a workaround. I just want to make things right. Thank you

You need to correctly identify the owner and provide the appropriate license. You can't claim you are the owner if you aren't. You probably can't use the screenshot, but may be able to use the logo. WP:FAIRUSE has more information. --Yamla (talk) 16:13, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In response to Yamla I have correct the attribution of images. If you think they have to be deleted no problem from my side. Thank you
