Re: DAB repairs
AM: Sorry it removing that link irked you. The problems is that the Texas Rangers dab page gets 10-20 new incoming links per week, and having to sift through the "Disambiguation pages with links" and User talk pages makes spotting legit links in need of fixin that much tougher. Would you mind removing and/or updating the link yourself? Thanks, Caknuck 03:37, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
- Dude, no need to be a dick about it. I was bold and made a change, and you changed it back... fair enough. All I was asking you to was to reconsider the change to make one of my tasks a little easier. If you don't want to, then fine. I'd ask you to please remember WP:BOLD, WP:IAR and especially WP:CIVIL before citing procedure (of which I am very familiar) and talking down to me in a situation like this. Caknuck 03:54, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
- No problem. Shall we hug it out and move on to more consequential things? Caknuck 04:15, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I got your reply to my Help Me request. Thanks. (1) I never did anything at all to any of my preferences (0 or 8,000 or any other number). I was just waiting for the bug to get fixed, without taking any action on my part. Is that something that I need to do at this point, now that the bug is supposedly fixed (i.e., change my number preference)? And (2) how do I purge my cache? I am using AOL. Thanks. Raymarcbadz
Hi After Midnight! Now that you're an admin (:D) would you mind taking a look at Raymarcbadz (talk • contribs)? He's adding tons of extra names to the Miss Universe year articles and despite me asking him not to has continued to do this. For example: "Dayanara Yari Torres Delgado". Can anything be done about this? PageantUpdater User Talk Review me! 07:32, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- Other than a couple recent notes (including yours), I don't see many people communicating with this user except through edit summaries, which I'm not sure they are aware of. I've tried an approach, but I'm just another editor here due to WP:COI. Hopefully my touch will have a positive effect. If not, perhaps if would be appropriate to involve a third opinion. --After Midnight 0001 16:16, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- No problem. I probably should have been a bit diplomatic myself. I was just irritated because I'd previously had to tag a ton of images he uploaded so I was a bit tetchy :P PageantUpdater User Talk Review me! 02:16, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Miss World articles
As you have probably noticed my bent is certainly more towards Miss USA and Miss Universe... I've recently done some stuff to Miss Earth 2006 but I just looked at some of the Miss World year articles and groaned... the formatting and use of language is atrocious. I could start working on those... but at the same time the Miss Universe articles themselves leave a lot to be desired and I'd love to try and improve them like I did with some like Miss Universe 1984 and Miss Universe 2005. What do you reckon needs sorting the most/what should take priority? And how on earth can we get it across to some of these editors that a decent level of English and some basic respect for Wikipedia's formatting standards needs to be upheld. Is it a lost cause? I just spent ages yesterday trying to sort out Miss Venezuela but gave up.
I need an "outside perspective"... what needs time spent on it first? Lol... I'm going around in circles and thought I'd come to you for advice :) PageantUpdater User Talk Review me! 07:58, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- Let me take a little time to think about this and I'll reply in the next day or so. --After Midnight 0001 12:46, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hiya! When you get a chance, would you mind taking a look at this again? What seems more important... expanding the Miss Universe articles (1992-1994, 2004 now done, 2000 in process) or trying to whip the Miss World articles into some sort of reasonable shape? PageantUpdater User Talk Review me! 03:40, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- I would suggest that you continue on the Miss Universe articles. You've already started on them and they are looking great, so I suggest that you stay focused there and then when they are done more on to the Miss World articles. --After Midnight 0001 03:45, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
uw-attack
Uw-attack seems to be a copy of the uw-npa series. Maybe even the uw-biog series also. --TeckWiz is now R ParlateContribs@ (Let's go Yankees!) 16:18, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for stopping by.... I believe that "npa" is for warning about attacking editors, and "biog" is for putting potential libel on articles, while "attack" is for warning related specifically to attack pages and used together with {{db-attack}}. --After Midnight 0001 16:54, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

International development portal pages
Hi, After Midnight. I'm here to take you up on your offer to help. I decided to go with The Sustainable development Portal, so you could *poof* all the International development Portal pages if you're bored. Otherwise, I'll tag them for deletion the slow way.
By the way, don't forget to throw in your two-cents-worth at the Sustainable development Portal peer review. Thanks. RichardF 02:54, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

the warning you left than removed
i saw the warning you put on my page regarding Micheal Bednarski (spelling?) and then removed...no worries, it was kinda funny When a mime shoots himself, does he use a silencer? 05:58, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
If you look into it, you will see that there was a recent AFD discussion which agreed to delete Charlie McCarthy (socialist). This is therefore on redlink unlikely to lead to the creation of the article. So the deletion of this page is, I would have thought, an uncontroversial consequence. PatGallacher 23:59, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I did read the AFD before I deprodded it. My edit summary is refering to the part of WP:MOSDAB#Redlinks which states, "Do include a redlink when another article links to the ambiguous article with none of the disambiguation options in mind. (A list of links to an article can be obtained using Special:What links here.)" Since there are still redlinks to this article (see Special:Whatlinkshere/Charlie McCarthy (socialist)), I would rather not delete it, yet; but if you remove the redlinks and then come back (as mentioned in my edit summary), I will. --After Midnight 0001 00:08, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Brenda Strong pic
If the Mary Alice Young pic isn't fair use, why is it on the Mary Alice Young page? RMB1987 03:40, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- It is possible for an image to be fair use in one context and not another. For this particular image, it is fair use on the article for the fictional character, but for the actress it is decorative. --After Midnight 0001 03:45, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- You mean decorative in a legal sense? As in some copyrights only apply if the image is used under certain circumstances, here being that the circumstance allows the use when illustrating Mary Alice Young but not when illustrating Brenda strong? RMB1987 03:52, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- Take a look at the fair use criteria for the standard that an image must meet. Please also take a look at the license tag for Image:Dh 800x600 strong 03.jpg. Regards --After Midnight 0001 03:57, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
CFD split
I am not entirely sure about the progress of the split, but it seems that someone has already done a lot of work moving articles into Category:Films shot in Chicago. Is it fair to assume the remainder are those that belong to Category:Films set in Chicago?
As far as AWB goes, before I got my new laptop, I had requested AWB priviledges and did not set up the software. I guess I should learn how to use it. However, can you move the remainder to the desired category unless you think it is a mistake to do so. TonyTheTiger (talk/cont/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 19:52, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for blocking this user, even though it didn't have the proper number of warnings. I asked another admin to help out and got kind of ignored. I did not see the Colbert Report, but have deduced the phrase "The librarians are hiding something," played a role. I added the phrase to the Lupin anti-vandal filter. Hi After Midnight. I'd like to thank you for your support of my RfA. It was closed at surprising 75/0/0, so I'm an admin now. MaxSem 21:13, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
I see you blocked Book for Colbert-inspired vandalism. That's all fine and good but I had stopped by to undo some spam added a long time back that wasn't caught until now (the same IP rcently added similar spam to a bunch of other articles and I am gong through and cleaning up). If you could go in there and remove http://www.greataudiobookslist.com/ from the links that would be great, plus maybe fix the code the screwed up the link to a foreign language wiki... Undelete in the Sandbox
Thank you for undeleting this for me. Could you tell me if what I have changed is how it is suppose to look and I just do not understand how to make it unreferenced. How do I give you a reference? The only reference would point back to the company itself since the company is private and not public so I don't know how to do the cite.
I also listed all the products that this company sells, I guess I can write articles on all of them.
Oh yes, and how do you move things to and from the sandbox. I wish I knew because I would prefer to write the new articles in the sandbox and then move them when done.
- Take a look at WP:REF for info regarding how to add sources to an article. You are headed in the right direction, you just need to find verifiable sources. --After Midnight 0001 01:29, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. There is a tab at the top that you can use to move the article when it is ready. See also WP:MOVE. --After Midnight 0001 01:31, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Now I am totally lost :-) I pasted it, and was going to use the sandbox for something else but now it is in the sandbox as well as in its published spot. So where do I edit it? It is not done (of course).
Please help. Thanks! akc9000 07:46, 26 May 2007
Userfying of deleted material
Please don't do what you did above. i.e. Taking a cut and paste move of the last revision (Cut and paste moves are always evil). You've just divorced the content from it's edit history, you've also told the user to simply move it back when ready, again making sure the content is separate from its history. The way to do this is to restore the original article, move the content to user space (thus keeping everything together) and then delete the created redirect. In this case when moved back we may have to restore the deleted revisions to keep everything together, not something the user can do and something which can easily be overlooked especially if the article gets retitled when moved back. --pgk 09:50, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you. You are, of course, correct. I'll keep an eye on the situation so that I can help clean it up. In fact. If you think it is best, I will do a cut-paste fix today to re-join it and then it should be less of a problem to watch. I'll also make sure that if it is put back in main space that it is done via move instead of cut-paste. --After Midnight 0001 11:29, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
- It's a lot of work for small gain, since the user in question was the major source, but it might be worth doing just for the practice :-) Guy (Help!) 12:21, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
- Fixed. --After Midnight 0001 12:40, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Edit summaries
Hi. No big deal, but do you think that you might want to simplify your edit summaries? Many of the articles that you are touching have multiple replacements and something more general may be more appropriate. --After Midnight 0001 20:41, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
- Good point. It generally works well for ordinary spelling substitutions, but I'm doing a bunch of SI unit fixups at the moment where the summary isn't terribly meaningful. I've changed it so that it's a bit more useful. Cheers, CmdrObot 21:01, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Need Your Help
After Midnight, I appreciate your help. I have no idea why people do not like this article. Could you please explain to me what I am doing wrong? You only moved it yesterday and someone has already suggested it for deletion saying its spammy. I dont even know how you can have spam on wiki since it uses the nofollow tag.
Could you please tell me what is wrong with what I wrote and have a look at the Pending Deletion page. I really hate to think I am wasting my time here. I tell you, this is why I seldom contribute.
Thanks --User:akc9000 User talk:akc9000 --Akc9000 16:54, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

I could also use help. I've added content to the beauty pageant page on several pageants including the United Nation and Ms. World Pageants. Further, I explained the relevance of on line and the differences in how pageants are scored, etc. yet I see it has been deleted. Having written for Pageantry, Supermodels Unlimited, Epiczine and the more generic public media, I have a lot to contribute. So, why were the additions deleted? You may email to my personal addy where I will have a better chance of reading the mail. ThanksRakssanura 22:18, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Pay Per Click
Could you look at the cat Pay_per_click and explain to my why no one added references for any of this data? I added the beginning of a history section. With the two listings I added everyone was on me because there was no certs, I only see one for all of this data.
Should there not be refer for all the data that was added?
Just trying to learn how things work. --Akc9000 00:30, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- I can't explain the actions of others. I would say that if you would like to improve the article, you could either add references to the information which is there, or you could replace it with information that you are able to reference. Unfortunately there is much that is not referenced in many articles; diligent editors will improve the situation. --After Midnight 0001 03:42, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
