Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service

[edit]

Thanks for your additions to the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service article. When you make a change could you pop a short reason in the 'edit summary' box. Thanks --Samiddon (talk) 21:01, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Call signs and Somerset Appliances

[edit]

the Somerset appliances dont take the same call signs...for example.

Exeter's Water Tender Ladder would be '321' (32 for the station...1 for the appliance).

Taunton - for example, because they are controlled from the Somerset Control Room <and they still use their old call signs etc> has its old call signs. So '61' doesnt even feature in their call signs - will try and get that info. Hope that makes sense.

--Samiddon (talk) 19:14, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Call Signs

[edit]

Because Devon and Somerset operate different control rooms they both retained their original call signs.

Therefore Taunton's rescue tender, for example, doesnt follow the same format. None of Tauntons appliances begin '61...' - they are all based on the old station numbers.

Thanks

Emergency Co-Responder Unit

[edit]

See what I can do. I shall ask some Control Room staff I know.

I used to work in Control myself - that's how I know where the Co-Responding stations are.

How did you find out they were called Emergency Co-Responder Units - need to cite a reference if possible.

Samiddon (talk) 21:55, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They are 'A' - so 34A etc. Samiddon (talk) 20:25, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SHQ Visit

[edit]

Email me with some info - when you're going/are you visiting Control etc?

In what context are visiting? With work etc?

Water Tender Ladders

[edit]

You have ammended Honiton and Okehampton to show both appliances being Water Tender Ladders...? Is this correct? Where did you find out? Reply back on here to keep the conversations together and I will check back. Thanks Samiddon (talk) 22:35, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

hi if you go to this link http://www.dsfire.gov.uk/MCMS_DevonFireVB/Templates/FleetList.aspx?NRMODE=Published&NRNODEGUID=%7b57E49621-9B2D-4679-9A13-E98E02CFD00A%7d&NRORIGINALURL=%2fDevonFire%2fOperationalResponse%2fVehicles%2fFleetList%2ehtm&NRCACHEHINT=Guest and look at Honiton and Okehampton both the pumps are Water Tender Ladders and i have seen both of Okehamptons pumps and they have got the same size ladders. and if you look at the same link and down to East Somerset Cheddar and the other stations i moved are there and the station numbers would be in order. thanks Wrcf1 (talk) 14:01, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So they are - interesting stuff. Regarding Cheddar etc - we have conflicting information...both off of DSFRS website. I will try to get a definite answer. Squirrel684 (talk) 14:28, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incident Command Vehicle

[edit]

When I worked in the control room...the ICV was always at Totnes (31C) - I understand this may have changed but the website doesnt reflect this and the entry in the retained section doesnt reflect this.Squirrel684 (talk) 18:06, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

no no no i did not change the icv i change the Environmental and Incident Support Units back to Paignton because you changed it to totnes today be mistake i guess. so the ICV is right and the Environmental and Incident Support Units is right.

Heard of a specialist rescue vehicle at Kingsbridge? They were talking about getting a second one (to Exmouth's) and putting it in the west but I am surprised it would be here - would have thought Ivybridge, Buckfastleigh or Ashburton (A38 n that) would have been more suited.

Can you try to find out if there is one at Kingsbridge? I wouldnt change the wiki site yet. Squirrel684 (talk) 19:22, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Le Mans 2009

[edit]

This is silly. A blank chart serves no purpose, a list of what is so far two retirements is not useful. We are not a live update site, we don't need a fraction of the race results posted as they happen.

The full race results will be added within minutes of the finish. There's no need to worry about it. IIIVIX (Talk) 16:41, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is The Apprentice (UK series six). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Apprentice (UK series six). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:10, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Templates and noinclude tags

[edit]

Would you be so kind and read Wikipedia:Template_inclusion#Noinclude.2C_includeonly.2C_and_onlyinclude before you next time edit some template? It was not so hard to find why article 2009 Rally Ireland had bad interwikis, but it's easier if I shouldn't have to do that in the first place. Thanks in advance! DNS

[edit]

Hi, don't keep taking out the DNS from the F1 tables. It has always been and always will be part of the key. Why would it not be?? Cheers, Bretonbanquet (talk) 08:42, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, no problem, I think you might be thinking of "DNP", which was indeed taken out. Cheers, Bretonbanquet (talk) 08:46, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2010 Season

[edit]

Hello there, I was just wondering behind your reasoning in moving the race report to the bottom of the article. As the most important section of the page, most users will want to read this first before referring to the tables for more detailed results and the like. Anyway I did change it back, if you had a good reason for moving something it would be nice if you said in the edit summary. Cheers QueenCake (talk) 19:47, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:57, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of World Rally Championship records

[edit]
Hello, do you think we should find an administrator to block User Woodada for his unsourced edits on List of World Rally Championship records? Thanks. -- LS C HIST (talk) 13:32, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes i do can you do it cos i dont know how thanks --WrcF1(Talk) 14:13, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello WrcF1, I am wondering which website you're talking about. I don't understand. If this is only an "easy to read" problem, it is very easy to add a "wikitable collapsible collapsed" class to the page, and it will appear very clear. I can do it myself if you want. I am waiting for your answer. Regards. --Woodada(Talk) 14:17, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Statistics at World Rally Archive it does need everything from this website copied on to it thanks.--WrcF1(Talk) 14:18, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I know this site but if you had taken time to read what I've done, you would have understand that this site is incomplete and that my page gives more records with a notes column to explain. So I ask again, if you want, I can add a "wikitable collapsible collapsed" class, thus the page will firstly look like yours and readers could "show or hide" dynamically the info they want to see. Regards. Woodada. --Woodada(Talk) 14:20, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WRC Major entries not registered as manufacturers

[edit]

Could you tell me why you deleted Van Merkstejin Motorsport from WRC 2011 article?

thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hakulin (talkcontribs) 09:38, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re:2011 WRC

[edit]

What good information does it have on there, when considering that most of the stage win results are on such website like EWRC (Sébastien Loeb profile for instance). As that website states, it has 96 stage wins listed for Loeb in 2010, which matches the Wiki figure, but that does not mean we should replicate on here. It just takes up far too much space when considering the article length in general (~4%). It's just overkill. Cs-wolves(talk) 13:15, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:DevonSomersetFireRescue.gif)

[edit]

However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Hello and good afternoon (at least it is afternoon where I am). I was looking at the Wikipedian firefighters category and noticed that you are one of the members of the Wikipedia community that lists yourself as being a firefighter. First and foremost let me say thank you for your service. While I myself am not a firefighter, I do work as a photographer with multiple local fire departments. I am honored to have firefighters as some of my closest friends.

I have been taking an active role in the Fire Service WikiProject and am trying to recruit more members to this cause. If this is something you have any interest in, please let me know? You can leave me a message on my talk page. Obviously there is zero obligation. An interest can be anything from helping out with a couple of pages in your local area to helping to overhaul major templates, and anything in between.

Once again, thank you for your service. Hope to hear from you soon. Stay safe! --Zackmann08 (talk) 17:56, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
