Sunny is the first name and pen name of Sunny Chen, an American writer known for her series Monère: Children of the Moon. Chen graduated from Vassar College and worked as a family practice physician before turning to writing.[1] Chen has stated that she chose to publish her books under her first name to distance herself from her persona as a "frumpy, bespectacled" physician.[2]
