Jim Hagemann Snabe
[edit]Jim Hagemann Snabe (* 27. October 1965 in Egedal) is a Danish businessman and is currently the Chairman at Siemens AG[1][2] and A.P. Møller – Maersk A/S[3]. Together with Bill McDermott, Snabe was Co-CEO of German technology company SAP SE[4] before becoming member of the board of directors at SAP[5].
Career
[edit]Snabe studied Business Administration with the focus on Operational Research and Financing at Aarhus School of Business[6] before he started his career at SAP in Wallendorf, Germany, in 1990. After one year as a trainee, Snabe became Consulting Manager for SAP Denmark[4].
In 1994 Snabe left SAP to be Principal at IBM Denmark. Spending two years at IBM Snabe, again, joined SAP[4].
SAP
[edit]After three years of being Managing Director of the Swedish SAP subsidiary, Snabe was appointed as the Regional Managing Director of SAP Nordic. Afterwards, Snabe held several managing positions for the SAP EMEA-Region. For periods of two years each, he was Head of Service Industries, COO of Application Development and Head of Industry Solutions[5].
Since 2008, Snabe was part of SAP’s executive board as Corporate Officer / Head of Development. In February 2010, after the departure of Leo Apotheker, Snabe and his fellow board-member McDermott took on the position as Co-CEO for SAP AG[4].
In 2014 Snabe left as Co-CEO in favor of a seat in the SAP Board of Directors[5].
Other Notable Positions
[edit]In April 2016, Snabe joined the board of directors at A.P. Møller – Mærsk, of which he became chairman in March 2017[3].
On February 1st, 2017, it was announced that Snabe would be nominated as chairman of the board of directors for the German multinational conglomerate Siemens AG, replacing Gerhard Cromme in February 2018[7][2].
He is currently also a member of the board for Allianz SE[2][1] and the World Economic Forum[8][9].
Due to his experience from positions in large international organizations, Snabe is a sought-after speaker and Adjunct Professor at Copenhagen Business School in the fields of leadership, organizational management, responsible business and change management[10].
In 2017, Snabe wrote the book “Dreams and Details: Reinvent Your Business and Your Leadership from a Position of Strength” together with Mikael Trolle[11][12][13]. Drawing from their leadership experience, Snabe and Trolle set out to offer a new leadership model, which unites inspiration, ambition, innovation and employee empowerment to succeed in the modern world[11][12][14][13]. The model builds on Snabe’s conviction that businesses have to reinvent themselves in order to combine profits with responsible and sustainable conduct[15][8]. In November 2018, Snabe and Trolle founded the Dreams and Details Academy, aiming to change leadership through consulting and educational services[14].
